After asking for recommendations and whether I can get a plate of mixed items, the staff ended up not only being unhelpful but demanding in knowing exactly what I wanted (how many pounds of each). The whole experience was intimidating; I ended up leaving without even getting to try anything. It's a small spot indeed, just a few aisles to shop around for ethnic goods - mostly food and beverage. Randomly, though, there's a Trader Joe's sack of pistachios. Maybe I'll come back and give it another chance in the future...

They have 2 entrances, one in the front and one in the back, which you can access through the parking lot. There were about 8 compact spaces. The store is pretty small with narrow aisles and can get crowded quickly. We started in the hot food/salad bar area where Anya helped us with our order. She answered all our questions regarding the products and was quick + swift while taking care of everyone. We got chicken cutlets, cheese boregs, a variety of cold salads, some Borscht soup, and a few pastries. The cheese/cold cut deli area doubles as the checkout counter as well. Irina helped us here and she was very kind and helpful in helping us decide on a DELICIOUS cheese (Village Cheese). It's truly a fantastic cheese and I wish we got a bigger piece of it. I'd also like to mention Danny, I'm not sure if he is the owner or maybe one of the managers, but he was also very helpful and knowledgeable. The service here was great from everyone we encountered and the place was extremely organized and clean. I think the only downside is that not all the labels have an English translation, so unless you can read Russian, you are left in the dark about what the products are. Some of the salads/hot foods have translations but not all of them. Our total for all our groceries came out to $84.01, which I think was appropriate for the amount of things we purchased and the quality of the products. I need to make it an effort to come here more often and try more items!

Manti dumplings are like a deluxe version of Xiaolongbao juicy dumplings and are time consuming to make so it's a treat to have it here. Immediately when you enter Dolan's you are transported to Central Asia with their beautiful decoration and vibey music. Their manta dumplings with crispy chili oil (same as Manti), baked pie, and honey cake and baklava were particularly delicious. No one asked if we needed anything else, wanted to order another dish, or were enjoying the food. When it was nearly closing time, we finally asked the food runner about our meat pie. He said, "Oh, the kitchen is closed." We explained that we had ordered it over an hour earlier. He checked with the server and came back saying, "Oh, sorry. She didn't put it in." Then they simply brought us the bill. If I had known the meat pie wasn't coming, I would have ordered more chicken skewers. Instead, I literally left hungry on my birthday, and by the time we left, everything else nearby was already closed. There was barely an apology, no offer of a replacement, and no attempt to make things right. We also fell behind on our birthday plans while waiting for food that was never coming. The food may be good, but the lack of communication and customer service ruined the experience. If you want to try it, I would recommend takeout. Sadly, we will not be returning.
