    $2 bread

We went to Havana Night (Room 13), above the escape room, across the street and decided to take a break -- that's how we stumbled upon this gem. I've never had a restaurant that serves Uzbek food before, so it was a real treat to try something new! We ordered four dishes, and here's what stood out: * Lamb Rank - Absolutely delicious, the best thing I had. I'd definitely come back just for this. * $2 Bread and Yogurt - Simple but so good, the perfect pairing with lamb rack. * Lamb Soup - Tasty, and I recommend eating it with the bread to balance out the saltiness. * Samsa - Flavorful and even better when dipped in the fresh tomato sauce. We also tried the Lagman (noodles with beef), which was just okay, but still worth trying if you're curious, tomato based. There were two of us, and overall it was such a fun and unique food experience. Next time, I'd come back and order the Lamb Rank, bread, and yogurt without hesitation.

Fire food, fire ambience the PULOV was to die for paired with the amazing cultural juices available at this place. It felt like I was into the pear juice. It was amazing. Also, the tomato salad paired with the PULOV was fired.

Food was great! Big servings for a good price. Will definitely go back. One of the few halal restaurants in the area.

I finally had the chance to stop in for a solo early dinner, but unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to my expectations. I ordered the Lule Kabob Combo ($22), which included skewers of minced beef and chicken, rice, veggies, pita, hummus, and a side salad. The highlights of the meal were definitely the salad and the grilled tomato; the pomegranate seeds in the rice were also a nice touch. However, the meats weren't to my taste--the chicken had an odd aftertaste, and while the beef was better, neither really worked for me. Adding the provided sumac and lemon helped, but I wouldn't order the kebabs again. Additionally, the hummus lacked creaminess, and the pita tasted like it was mass-produced rather than fresh. On the positive side, the portion sizes are very generous for the price point, and I left feeling full. I also have to mention that the patio is adorable and very "Instagrammable," so it's a great spot if you're looking for a photo-friendly environment. A quick note for future visitors: they are currently having issues with their card reader and are requesting cash or Zelle. It felt a little unusual to be rung up on a register only to pay via Zelle, but it wasn't a major deal. While I appreciated the atmosphere and value, the food itself just wasn't for me, so I likely won't be returning.

Thankfully, we had a reservation, so our wait wasn't long. Once inside, the restaurant was buzzing and packed with people, but even with the crowd, the service flowed smoothly. The waitstaff was on point throughout the evening. The beauty of dining with a group of four is that you can order a bunch of different dishes and share the experience. And that's exactly what we did! For cocktails, we went with the Nebuchadnezzar, Semira, and the Khoda. Then came the food: * Hummus Duck 'Nduja * Chicken Liver Pâté * Fried Quail * Farm Cheese with Buckwheat Toast * Oyster Mushroom Kebab * Slow-Roasted Lamb Neck Shawarma * Wagyu Beef Cheek Tagine For dessert, we finished things off with the Fresh Peach Tart. Everything came out timely, fresh, and cooked to perfection. There were a lot of great dishes on the table, but the standout star of the night was the Slow-Roasted Lamb Neck Shawarma. Tender, flavorful, and absolutely delicious! Overall, Bavel was a great first experience. Good food, great energy, solid service, and the perfect spot for sharing a meal with friends.

What a great kick off! As for our mains, we both ordered a variation of the combo plates. I had the chicken tawook and beef. The Mrs. had the chicken and lamb. All good. Based on the food alone, we would recommend this place to anyone with a beating heart and more importantly, a mouth. This is quality food at a quality price. The atmosphere? Really great. It's a little dark and twinkly inside which sets a nice tone. There is cool artwork adorning every piece of wall, the place is very easy on the eyes...including the restrooms. Very clean. Our sever, didn't catch his name, but what a nice dude. Was super helpful without being "too much" he should teach a server class. He's pretty much who you want taking care of your table. He knew the menu well and made great suggestions. It was actually refreshing. We will come back, most likely with the family. Our waiter told us that they can accommodate larger groups which is great. I recently ate food at Saffy's and I didn't enjoy it one bit. The servings there are too small, too pretentious and too overpriced. Open Sesame is the exact opposite and that's why it rules. A wonderful experience in Beverly Boulevard.

There are so many different kebabs to choose from, and I've yet to have one that wasn't delicious. My personal favorites are the steak and the chicken--both are incredibly tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients in every bite. One thing you absolutely cannot skip is the edamame hummus. I had never even heard of edamame hummus before coming here, and now I can't believe I went so long without trying it. It was smooth, fresh, and full of flavor while putting such a unique twist on traditional hummus. It's one of those dishes that completely changes your expectations and has you thinking about it long after you've left the restaurant. On top of the amazing food, the service was outstanding. Everyone made us feel genuinely welcome, and the atmosphere was warm, relaxing, and perfect whether you're grabbing a casual lunch or having dinner with friends or family. The menu is packed with so many dishes that I still want to try, which just gives me another reason to keep coming back. The only small downside is that the kabobs do not come with pita bread. And, When I ordered the steak kabob, a waiter asked me how I wanted the meat cooked, and I requested it well-done but asked him not to over-char it. However, some parts of the meat came out too charred, so I had to cut those parts off before eating it.

It's very cute with a garden'y feel. Wonderful for summer nights, but the flies and random gnats are OVERLY annoying while eating. They do not have inside seating. Service was lovely and they even made wine suggestions with my meal. Parking is potentially an issue, as the restaurant is in the heart of a residential neighborhood. Be aware of street signs.
