    Menu for drinks

I had recently went here to try out their Chai. I had ordered their Cardamon but it was so darn hot, I had ordered food next door and had to balance a hot cup and it was super hot, even through the cup. I had met the owner, and he seemed super friendly and had told me that this is their 2nd location; the other being in the Washington district of Fremont. I want to say it was refreshing and nice on a chilly day, but honestly they need to either serve it in a different cup ; or not steam it too hot. The Chai did have a nice aroma and it had a floral taste, but it is a place to visit when I have more time and can savor the beverage.

Such a cute new spot in Concord! Chai was great (lots of fun flavor options), our kiddo loved the cheesy masala veg maggi noodles, and the veggie sandwich was delish. Really nice and friendly staff also. We'll be back!

My friend and I like to try new foods and had a lot of fun here. We ordered a bunch of drinks to try: the cucumber mint refresher (made with Sprite but maybe better with just ice water, crunchy jaljeera- a spicy savory drink like a cold broth with fried crunchy savory topping, hot saffron chai and hot rose chai in clay cups - both delicious, saffron iced tea- amazing, mojito- very refreshing. We also tried the veggie cheese maggi noodles- mild, fun and delicious! The veggie burgers made mild with the peri peri sauce on the side... #1 the BEST! This place is super vegetarian friendly, all milk drinks (chais and other) can be made with oat milk or almond milk. I loved the spice in the dishes I ordered mild - it added a little smoky heat that my mouth loved and my stomach didn't complain! Staff is very friendly and helpful. Owner said menu with more details will be coming soon.

I instantly felt like I was back in my country the moment I got out of my car -- the location and…read morevibe at Masala Place made that feeling immediate and real. We arrived around 8 PM and were welcomed with the same warm, energetic greeting you'd expect at opening time. Kumar, a young host, was absolutely the friendliest -- such a pleasant start to the evening. We ordered a bunch of dishes: veg fried rice (delicious), dal makhani (yum), jeera rice, a vegetable curry, garlic naan, pakodas (yum), chai, and mango lassi. But the standout was the veg chowmein -- it was bomb. It became everyone's favorite instantly and was the first dish cleared from the table. We even met one of the cooks who was super sweet. Bless you guys for being so amazing. This is seriously some of the best food around -- I'll definitely be back for those chowmein. Highly recommend!

Their popular items like the chicken tikka and tandoori chicken were already running low. They maybe refilled only once while we were seated and we probably would've eaten more if they refilled more frequently. Their naan is made fresh to order and you can choose between regular, butter, or garlic. I recommend the garlic naan! Chai tea is also included but you have to ask for it. Parking is free as well. Overall, worth trying and would probably go earlier than later when the food is full and fresh!

The buffet doesn't change much, but I tell you, we were there this afternoon, and I can't imagine a better combination of tastes than what I had: 3 each of the small fish pakoras and the fried chickpea flour ones; a portion of tasty white rice; a delicious cup of yellow dal; and a goodly portion of goat curry. All of this along with the yummy Naan that was brought to out table. Sargam is a tried and true venue for us (We go back a couple of decades and have dined there with so many friends over the years I probably can't even remember them all. If you're anywhere near Walnut Creek, give it a try! (Have a look at the many photos of the food. I only have one to share today of the establishment at night. We also often take home a Mixed Tandoori Grill platter, which combines many tasty kinds of meat, and goes a long way!)

We'd been there once, years ago, and couldn't really remember it much. We walked in and waited a solid 5 minutes (or more) for someone to come to the front acknowledge us, and there were others waiting as well. We assumed that they must be very busy, but they only had a few tables of customers. The atmosphere wasn't nice, but it was ok. We didn't expect fine dining vibes. There were no table cloths, and a mint green paint job which matched the color of the napkins. We ordered the "vegetarian feast" and also the butter chicken; we wanted to sample different items and probably bring home leftovers. The first thing that came out was the chai tea, which was fine. After a little wait, the samosas arrived. The samosas were delicious, and we agreed that they were the best we'd ever had. The two sauces they served with the samosas were also very tasty. Unfortunately, that was the last great thing about our experience at Sargam. The wait for the rest of the food was quite long. We weren't in a hurry, but it was definitely longer than should be acceptable at a restaurant. (All in all we were there for about 90 minutes). When the food finally came out, one of the items was missing from the vegetarian feast (the "two naris"). We didn't notice until later that we never got this item. The food's taste was average. Perhaps below average for the Indian food in the Bay Area. The chicken was not very tender but it wasn't terrible. We ordered the food "medium spicy" but there was zero spice. Also, the temperature wasn't as hot as it should be. Most of the items were almost luke warm. The nan wasn't anything special. It wasn't as tasty (or warm) as it is at most places we've been to. At the end, we were supposed to get two desserts, according to the menu's description (photo attached) of the vegetarian feast. They never came. We wrapped up our leftovers and I asked the woman (who seemed to be the manager), who had taken our order and also brought us our check, if we were going to get the desserts. She gave me a horrible look. She looked as if I had said something terrible, and acted like she had no idea what we were talking about. I explained that the dessert was on the menu as part of the "vegetarian feast". We waited about five more minutes and no dessert came out. I decided to pay and leave; we were full anyway. Sargam has "acceptable" food and ambience, long waits, and bad service with missing items. Also, they added a "service fee" of 3.5% to the check (which was not mentioned anywhere on the menu). Weird. I wanted to like it. We won't be back.

The restaurant is super cute and clean and the servers are so kind and welcoming. We got 4 dishes: Plant-Based Drumstick as an appetizer. They were chewy, crispy, well seasoned and the sauce was tangy and sweet. Fried rice. Honestly I'm a huge fan of fried rice and this fried rice might be my new favorite beating out even fried rice that I love that isn't vegetarian. It was chewy, super flavorful, veggies were perfectly cooked. It was just perfect. Caramelized chicken. This dish was good. The imitation chicken was chewy and tender with crisp caramelized edges. The sauce was sweet and it was balanced out by the veggies and spinach served with it. Bamboo soup. It was so delicious and simple but the broth was so umami and savory. The veggies were so fresh and so well prepared. This is definitely a new favorite spot for us. Looking forward to going back.
