We stumbled on this little gem off in a corner of Sun Valley. A Persian Café, it features sandwiches, salads, soups and desserts. Prices are reasonable - but the quality is heads above anything you can find in the Food Center. Service is exemplary, the owner/manager quite friendly and attentive. We had two bowls of clam chowder for an outstanding price of $7.95 each. The bowls were very generously sized, much larger than those found in BJ's. The chowder was delicious! A side of bread was included. And for dessert: baklava. Scrumptious! And something unique for Sun Valley. Our new favorite lunch spot in Sun Valley.

Stopped by Mazeh for lunch today and am so glad we did. It's a cute cafe with lots seating. We ordered the Persian pizza and the beef mortadella sandwich and both were delicious. The pizza was hot and fresh out the oven and the sandwich was stuffed with good stuff. Service was great, super friendly. Will definitely be back again soon.

I dropped by seeing the star rating on Mazeh. For a small mall restaurant, the ambiance was great - the feel of the place was wonderful. At the same time, it wasn't overblown - just in the right place between comfortable and different! It's "Mazeh - Persian sandwich and cafe". I didn't have the sandwiches because I'd had a big lunch, but if the sandwiches are anything like their pictures - wow - mouth watering! The staff were kind enough to answer my questions about the available coffees and recommended the banana bread as something smaller to try out. This was interesting as the "Persian" baklava, etc was on offer as well. The Dalgona coffee and banana bread were a great combo and hit the right spot of flavor without being too much for about 4 o'clock! I'd recommend the place if you are looking for something different in the mall!

The Sun Valley Mall, and much of Pleasant Hill I'm learning, preserves the feeling of the 90's in a delightful way. I was brought Mazeh's way by Google, after looking at traffic on the drive home and deciding I should grab some coffee. And boy what a coffee! I ordered a Greek Coffee, so named as it's made with milk, and it was an excellent pairing with the cheese and toasted almond croissant. Rich flavor and a perfect size for the strength. Cool little find, a Persian spot with heart. I enjoyed the ambience of a family sipping tea and playing backgammon at the table over. read more

We ordered a Makhloot pizza and a Mortadella sandwich, and both were absolutely delicious! I especially loved how the hotdogs in the sandwich were thoughtfully wrapped in mortadella--it was such a nice touch. We also ordered the Napoleon which was really good, but the vanilla in it was a little overpowering. The service was friendly and attentive. The Persian music in the background wasn't quite to our taste, but it's part of the restaurant's character. What really stood out was the warm, family-run atmosphere that made us feel welcome. Wonderful little gem to sit and enjoy a tasty lunch or just a small sweet treat while shopping. I had the gyro plate and Persian tea, both of which were delicious. The order came out quickly and the server was very nice and checked in multiple times to see if I needed anything and to see if I enjoyed the food. On a previous occasion I also had the baklava, which was a tad too sweet on its own, but would be perfect with their Persian tea I tried this time. read more

When I walked in, I wasn't sure whether I should seat myself or wait to be seated. All of the waitresses appeared busy, so I stood near the entrance. Once she was available, Marianna greeted me. Initially, I wasn't a fan of being asked whether I was picking up food rather than whether I was dining in or taking out, but I quickly realized they may be accustomed to regular customers who already know the process. Since it was my first visit, I explained that I wasn't sure if I should seat myself. Personally, I think a sign near the entrance would be helpful for first-time guests. Since I was dining alone, I chose a seat at the counter and ordered the Sugar Plum Special with cheese grits and sourdough toast. While waiting for my food, I noticed something that concerned me. The staff did not appear to be wearing gloves, and I observed food being handled after touching various surfaces, including condiments, plates, glasses, and trash areas. While I understand that food service relies heavily on proper handwashing practices, I personally felt uncomfortable watching bread being handled directly by hand. I also want to recognize Marianna for her excellent service. She was accommodating, attentive, and handled my concerns professionally throughout the meal. Overall, I would return. The restaurant has a warm, family-oriented atmosphere and an old-school diner feel that is becoming harder to find these days. It reminded me of the kind of place you'd visit after church on a Sunday morning or somewhere you'd go with your grandparents for a comforting home-cooked meal. I just got a chicken salad sandwich and it was tasty so I can't wait to check out the rest of the menu. The variety of chips and drinks was nice as well.

The chicken is so salty I can't even eat it and that says a lot because I like my food well seasoned. It's red in color and looks like it could've been good but someone was extremely heavy handed with the salt. On a positive note my smoothie was good. I'm open to give it another shot, just not the chicken.
