    Full size grilled banh mi
    Kirsten L.

Banh Minh: 4 out 5 Solid viet sandwich for Walnut Creek. Preferred the cold cut over the grilled chicken. Service: 5 out of 5 Super friendly folks working Environment: 4 out 5 Fast casual & within the library. Some seating outside.

Cute, good amount of seats for a small place. Just do not get the spinach pierogi, it's a treble product. Not edible. The crust is too thick and hard. It's way over priced. Spinach tastes old. Get anything else!

Signature Salato Foam Latte (def get this one)

Took me ages to try this place. I love the salato, that's 100% the order to get and is worth every penny. I do it without a syrup, but you get a flavored syrup in there if you want it (built into the price). The Vietnamese was too sweet for me and the americano is way too watered down for me (this is everywhere really). Some of the best coffee in the area imo for the salato, nice depth of flavor and not acidic.

This place is connected to the library. They had many different flavors of matcha, I ended up getting the sakura cherry blossom matcha. I loved the sakura taste, however the drink felt watery, matcha can be better.

I went to the library and what a cute find that there is a coffee shop right there! The people that work at prologue are very nice as are the customers. I was standing in line trying to make a decision not realizing I was creating a line and I apologized profusely and everybody was so kind and kept saying no it's not a problem. Don't worry about it. They have so many different foods and coffee drinks. It's amazing. The coffee tasted really good and I'll have to go another time for the treats. The inside is really welcoming. I highly recommend it.

I stopped in Prologue because I was visiting the Walnut Creek library. I had no idea there was a coffee shop attached, so cool! I had to hop on the trend and try out the banana milk. I ordered a Vietnamese coffee + banana milk. I enjoyed it but wouldn't order it again. I think I would just get regular shots of espresso + the banana milk. The inside of the coffee shop is very cozy. They had a few tables and barstools if you need to sit down. They also have a variety of food options.

Their Vietnamese coffee with banana milk is amazing!!! I am a banana lover, especially in my iced coffee and lattes. I have tried several banana flavored coffee drinks, and this one reigns supreme. They are located in the Walnut Creek library, with an additional entrance through the outdoor seating area. The shop is also very cute and offers sandwiches and desserts. Highly recommend to stop by!

A coffee shop attached to a library? I'm in! I stopped by and tried the banana milk coffee along with a cold cut banh mi and both were so good! My daughter ordered an iced caramel macchiato and said it's the best one she's had so far. We were definitely impressed and plan on coming back. The only downside was the wait and how a bit chaotic it felt when walking in. I waited almost 15 minutes for just two drinks. That said, the pros definitely outweigh the cons. One of the best parts was being able to take our drinks into the library, sit down, read our books and enjoy our coffee. Win-win. Note: Only covered drinks are allowed if you plan to bring them into the library

    Banana Cream Matcha Latte

I visited this café and tried the Banana Cream Matcha. Unfortunately, it wasn't for me. I've had banana cream matchas at other places before, so my expectations were a bit higher. The flavor here tasted somewhat artificial, and I wasn't able to enjoy it as much as I had hoped. The bigger issue was the wait. My friend and I were waiting quite a while for our drinks, and we later found out they had run out of ice. I completely understand that these things happen, but it would have been nice if the staff had let us know right away instead of us having to ask. We ended up waiting until more ice was brought in, which made the experience longer than expected.

Reminds me of this place that sold banh mi and boba that I used to study at during my student years. I saw the banh mi advertised and just had to try. They've got an eclectic mix of food and drink items to choose from: some more traditional breakfast items, sandwiches, and some traditional coffeees, and some Asian-inspired drinks as well (ube, matcha, Vietnamese egg coffee, etc.). For the banh mi, you can choose from a small or large size. Got to say, I was pleasantly surprised! Bread was nicely toasted and there was a good ratio of filling to bread. To be honest, I forgot about this place since it's attached to the WC library, but writing this review makes me want to stop by in the near future.

We've been coming here for over a year and it's just the best. Always happy to support a local business and Thuy the owner is so friendly and sweet. The Vietnamese coffee is strong, sweet and perfect. We've tried all the different bahn mis here and not only is the bread legit soft yet crunchy but the ingredients are fresh and tastes amazing! So glad to have this place in town. I've already been here many times and introduced my friends to it too. Happy to report their vegetarian bahn mis are top notch which is perfect for me trying to eat more plant based foods.

Saw this on TikTok and wanted to give it a try! We tried the Vietnamese coffee, matcha banana drink, and the cold meat bánh mì, and overall I had a great experience! The Vietnamese coffee was really good. It was super strong but not too bitter at all. It also had the perfect level of sweetness. Definitely a standout drink in my opinion. The matcha banana wasn't my personal favorite. It wasn't bad, just not something I'd go out of my way to order again. The banana flavor tasted a little artificial to me, but that could just come down to personal taste, I'm sure many others enjoy it!! But honestly the real star of the visit was the bánh mì. It was SOO good. Extremely fresh, full of flavor, and tasted very authentic. I would absolutely come back just for this! On top of the food and drinks, the shop itself is adorable and connected to a library, which makes it such a cozy and unique spot to hang out. Overall, a place I wouldn't mind coming back to and supporting!

Vietnamese Iced Coffee & Binggrae Banana Milk coffee
    Ryan M.

This was our first time at Prologue. We ordered online for pick up at 1:20. We got our drinks around 1:30 with no issues! We got the Vietnamese iced coffee with a pandan cold foam and the binggrae banana milk coffee. Both drinks were very good we had to slow down so we could enjoy them! The coffee itself had a nice nutty chocolaty flavor! They had seasonal flavors that also sounded good! Definitely will come back to try more!

I worked from the barstools for about an hour and a half. After the breakfast rush had passed, I noticed plenty of open tables along the wall. Since I had thrown out my back this week and desperately needed more support, I moved to one of them. The sign said the table was reserved for up to two hours for customers who ordered food. Great--I had ordered food and had only been sitting there for about an hour. Nope. The same barista who took my order approached me to explain that the table was reserved for customers who ordered food. When I reminded her that I had, she asked what I ordered--as if she hadn't personally rung me up. She then told me I needed to return to the backless barstool. I challenged this because it made absolutely no sense. There were plenty of open tables, I was a paying customer and I was within the posted two-hour limit. She simply repeated that it was the policy. To be clear, the problem isn't that the policy was poorly communicated. The policy should not exist in the first place. Kicking a paying customer out of an empty chair and directing them back to a barstool is a horrible business model that lacks basic respect and hospitality. I left angry, embarrassed and regretting the money I spent here. I will absolutely not be returning.

I ordered a drink online. I arrived a few minutes before the order said it would be ready. There was a line but it wasn't very busy. I asked for my order and they said it was on the bar line. I watched the barista make drinks for everyone in line before me. There was only one other person of color in line (I'm brown). They straight up ignored me while I stood there waiting and watched as the barista (a whites woman) pushed my drink aside to make everyone else drink before mine. Like literally waiting until the line was gone and no more orders. (Also this has happen more than once. It's a pattern). What is the point of online order if I could have just gotten in line? And why treat me like that? Previous ownership had a different vibe. And this ain't it. It is sad cuz it's one of the few vegan spots and they have community events but I'm not supporting this business. I'm sure the community events would suck for poc based on my experience w drink orders.
