    ube latte
    Maria J.

It was my first time trying an ube latte and it was a great experience here. The latte was done very nicely, you could tell the barista has good skill. They were also extremely friendly at the kiosk and it felt easy to talk to them or possibly get advice on what to drink. The ambiance indoors was very clean and organized, a good spot for an interview or a get together. Lots of comfortable seating available.

This is an unassuming coffee place in the mall where BevMo is and Raleys once was. The coffee was awesome. I had a latte and it was perfect. Nice dark roast flavor popping through the foam. It's a quiet place with a few tables inside and out. They have one barista and one counter person so bring a little patience. It's worth it.

I came here at around 7:40am today. First thing I noticed was how spacious this place was. It seems like a great place to study. The woman helping me at the counter was really sweet and helped me figure out which drink to order which I did end up choosing an Iced Green Chai with oat milk. My favorite part was the fact that it wasn't overly sweet. The concentrate is delicious and you can definitely taste the earthiness from the Green Tea. I'll come back to try their gelato next. Come and support a local business!

I've been to contra costa coffee a few times, and it seems like the best place to get a good espresso or tea along ygnacio valley road. This time, I ordered their blackberry jasmine green tea as an Arnold Palmer and it was very refreshing. The tea is very floral, and the hints of mango and orange peel give it a tropical-like scent. The tea tastes very much like it smells. They usually have seasonal house-made syrups, and I believe all of their syrups are house made which I really appreciate. I've never been in the morning (which I presume is their rush hour) but every time I've been there it hasn't been busy at all. The employees are very kind and ready to make recommendations based on your preferences. I definitely recommend Contra Costa Coffee Company!!!

$9 for a milky bland latte. Not the place if you like a strong coffee flavor or spending a reasonable amount on a latte.

Amazing! They have…read moresuch unique flavors. There were many to choose from, and I'm so glad I overheard the other customers ahead of us saying that the vanilla salted almond toffee flavor was what they are known for. We ended up getting that flavor as one of our two. For our second flavor of two scoops, we ended up getting the marshmallow neapolitan. -Vanilla salted almond toffee: I can see what the other customers meant for "this is what they're known for." I love that the almond is candied/carmelized with toffee. It gives it a roasty flavor, which gives the flavor so much depth. The almond also gives a bit of crunch/texture, which makes this flavor so unique. -Marshmallow neapolitan: I'm not typically someone who likes marshmallows or goes for neapolitan, as I don't like super sweet and I don't like mixing flavors. You can definitely taste all 3 flavors--vanilla, chocolate, strawberry. The marshmallow doesn't make the ice cream as sweet as I would have thought, it really just adds the marshmallow texture. The ice cream is very thick and creamy. It doesn't melt too fast to meld all the flavors together (which I don't really like), and I really appreciate that the ice cream holds together so well! The gentleman helping us was very patient in letting us try several flavors. The shop had a more old time feel. There is a bench to sit on to eat for a bit, but no tables. Overall, I would totally come back to try their unique flavors!

The staff are kind and patient, and I appreciate their organized system of moving the customer over to the checkout counter to make room for customers to sample, ask questions from the staff, and more where the ice cream, wall menu, and entrance are located. The small seating bench area by the window gives a feel of many old school creameries I have fond memories of when I was a kid. The line that I've seen out the door many times here is a testimony to Lottie's Creamery's popularity and top of the line ice cream and desserts!

First time, and a while since we'd been at a gelato place, many of our favorites having closed their doors. I also was curious how it would compare to our super premium ice cream haunts. Lots of flavors! You can get two flavors in a small cup ($8.99) - my wife chose a combo of ube and espresso. I went with chocolate and salted caramel. Although not cheap, the cup was packed with a generous amount. There's a decent amount of seating - and our parking spot had one hour before it turned into a pumpkin - so we could relax and enjoy the gelato. Wow, this is the real thing! Made fresh daily, obviously with quality ingredients. My Filipino wife loves her Ube, but has a hard time finding some that meets her standards. She loved this ube gelato - continually commenting on its creaminess. Her espresso gelato had that nice coffee-infused zing. My chocolate gelato was amazing, and the salted caramel wasn't bad either. This place definitely gives that super premium ice cream a run for the money - and that's saying something. We'll be sure to return.

Chef Hassan created a customized menu for our group, and every dish was beautifully prepared. I ordered the Beef Wellington, well, because there was absolutely no reason not to when that's on the menu! HA! It was incredible. The flaky dough wrapped around that filet mignon, ooh, amazing. It sat on creamy potatoes and veggies of some sort (it's been a minute, I can't recall the exact option). The private room was nicely lit, there were some candles and flowers across the table as well as wall decor. The server and busser took a little to get things rolling, but eventually things were moving along. We also had a few children in our party, and the staff was wonderful accommodating, which made the evening even more enjoyable. We were so impressed that we came back a second time - just my lady, my 6-month-old daughter, and myself - and it was on a busy Saturday night when you typically need reservations. We were lucky enough that Onur (manager) welcomed us with no hesitation and have us a little space to relax with our daughter and enjoy a wonderful dinner. We ordered the Appetizer for Two, which includes: Bruschetta, Caprese, Prosciutto Melone, & Beet Salad - a perfect amount for the two of us. Then we each got the Beef Wellington. Again, never a disappointment. YOU MUST TRY IT! To finish the night I had a latte and we shared a salted caramel gelato. Absolutely delightful. If you haven't tried La Fontaine, I highly recommend giving them a try. The weekends are busy, so if you're able to step out on a week night, do it. I worked from the barstools for about an hour and a half. After the breakfast rush had passed, I noticed plenty of open tables along the wall. Since I had thrown out my back this week and desperately needed more support, I moved to one of them. The sign said the table was reserved for up to two hours for customers who ordered food. Great--I had ordered food and had only been sitting there for about an hour. Nope. The same barista who took my order approached me to explain that the table was reserved for customers who ordered food. When I reminded her that I had, she asked what I ordered--as if she hadn't personally rung me up. She then told me I needed to return to the backless barstool. I challenged this because it made absolutely no sense. There were plenty of open tables, I was a paying customer and I was within the posted two-hour limit. She simply repeated that it was the policy. To be clear, the problem isn't that the policy was poorly communicated. The policy should not exist in the first place. Kicking a paying customer out of an empty chair and directing them back to a barstool is a horrible business model that lacks basic respect and hospitality. I left angry, embarrassed and regretting the money I spent here. I will absolutely not be returning.
