    Fried rice
    Yarrow H.

This spot is amazing. We had a friend visiting who is vegan and so we found this place because they have both vegetarian and vegan options. The restaurant is super cute and clean and the servers are so kind and welcoming. We got 4 dishes: Plant-Based Drumstick as an appetizer. They were chewy, crispy, well seasoned and the sauce was tangy and sweet. Fried rice. Honestly I'm a huge fan of fried rice and this fried rice might be my new favorite beating out even fried rice that I love that isn't vegetarian. It was chewy, super flavorful, veggies were perfectly cooked. It was just perfect. Caramelized chicken. This dish was good. The imitation chicken was chewy and tender with crisp caramelized edges. The sauce was sweet and it was balanced out by the veggies and spinach served with it. Bamboo soup. It was so delicious and simple but the broth was so umami and savory. The veggies were so fresh and so well prepared. This is definitely a new favorite spot for us. Looking forward to going back.

Vegan beef and vegetables in spicy garlic sauce with brown rice.

My first time at Veggie Today. The menu has so many options! I had the vegan beef and vegetables in spicy garlic sauce and brown rice from the Lunch menu. It was fresh, tasty and filling! Service is excellent and each dish is cooked to order so don't expect fast service. I will definitely return to try other items. Nice quiet environment. Came here with two friends and we could have conversation without having to shout.

Hubby's vegan and we brought my fam to this Asian fusion plant based restaurant in Concord on a Friday evening. A few patrons inside and ample seating which was great for us since we didn't make reservations and we had a toddler with a stroller. Clean light ambiance. Fyi no baby changing table in restroom. Our server had recommended getting 5 dishes and an appetizer for our group of 6 adults and a toddler. We chose the following: Lemongrass chicken Shaking beef Eggplant basil tofu Thai fried rice with brown rice Rice clay pot with brown rice Lotus salad Thai iced tea Dishes were fresh, tasty and flavorful but one thing that I'd change is the level of sweetness in some of their items. The salad dressing and Thai tea were too sweet for me and some others at the table. While it's overall healthy, too much seasoning can negate some of the health benefits. Recommend stopping by!

Today we added the lemongrass chicken to our usual order and so glad we did! Wonderful gravy w perfectly spicy succulent protein. We also ordered the Vietnamese crepes and egg foo young. Support vegan local family businesses

This place had been on my list for a while, and was actually the first place I added to my local food list when moving. We finally tried it after I got a filling and needed some delicious soup, and it could not have been more perfect. Any vegetarian restaurant is a very big win for me, but I have to mention how much I appreciate the number of options, and also that they aren't all fried. Not eating meat it's typical for me to have one choice at a restaurant, so here I get to have it all. If I'm lucky enough to get a protein option, it's usually fried tofu, deep fried beans, etc. Here there are actual fake meat options without the fried aspect. I sincerely appreciate being able to get a healthy meal, and with protein (!!!) as a vegetarian. It is truly a difficult thing to find. I got the pho with all three types of fake meat. It came prepackaged to keep everything separate, warm, and crispy until the exact time of eating. The broth was insanely delicious! It can be hard to get such deep flavor from restaurant broth, especially vegetarian broth since restaurants rely on meat and bones to give all of the flavor. My boyfriend's mother is from Vietnam and makes us delicious pho, so for this to compare was astounding. My boyfriend got the Mongolian beef, which he said was better than the last 3 Mongolian beef's he's had lately that were made with real meat. It was very tasty. Lastly we got the ginger chicken to share. The bed of veggies had delicious carrots and zucchini- the tomatoes were silly but I ate around them. The actual ginger chicken was incredible. I would say it's a must order, but so is every item on the menu that we tried. My only regret here is not trying it sooner. I can't wait to taste so much more of the menu. We will be back time and time again!

Visited Veggie Today over the weekend and I'm very grateful I can continue to get delicious Vietnamese/Asian vegan food in my area. This time I decided to dine in and meet a friend instead of get to-go like I normally do. Ordered the Foo Young as an appetizer, potato curry, sizzling crepe and rice claypot. Super delicious took home leftovers to eat the next day, since it was a lot of food for just the two of us. The curry was just as delicious the next day. Please let's continue to support Veggie Today, today, tomorrow and next week!

    Vegan pho

I got a coupon in the mail for this place and was excited to see vegan pho as there used to be a place in SF that I loved and have never found anything nearby like it. So one day for lunch I drove over to order take out. While I waited for my food, there was some man who I think may have worked there sitting at a table talking very loudly on his phone. I was the only customer in the place so I understand before I arrived there was no one but it was still awkward. The pho itself traveled well home but the broth was lackluster. I may try it again another day to see if that was just a one off but sadly I don't know if I will make it back. I just didn't love it enough to go out of my way. I do love that there is a vegan option in town though!

    Mongolian Beef Lunch Special

I organized a group lunch here because one of the members of that group recommended this place. We wanted to eat here at 12:30 PM on a Friday, so I called the night before to make a reservation for that time for somewhere between 7 to 9 people. They didn't take my name down, but that really didn't matter because there were maybe 2 to 3 other people there. In hindsight, I probably didn't need to make a reservation, but I preferred be on the safe side. I ordered a Thai Tea and decided to choose the vegan option. I also asked them if they could forgo the straw in my Thai tea, to which they replied that they don't even provide straws normally. I was flabbergasted. How do you do Thai tea without a straw? When the drink ultimately came, they had a long metal spoon in a tall milkshake glass, and there were fewer ice cubes than I normally see at other places. The drink was already pre-mixed, so I probably didn't have to stir it with the spoon, but I did it anyway (slightly slowed down by ice cubes, but totally worth it to to avoid single-use plastic). I also ordered the Mongolian Beef Lunch Special. The vegetables had a decent crunch, and the flavor was light but present. The "beef" tasted a little bit like bean curd mixed in with tofu & other items, so it had a slight rubbery texture. It definitely doesn't have the same meaty texture that animal beef does, but that is to be expected for most meat substitutes. For what it is, it's perfectly fine. Overall, this is a good quiet place for anyone that is looking for vegetarian and vegan options. They had pretty much all reusable foodware (though I don't think they really need paper placemats). My mind was absolutely blown by the way they skipped the straw for my Thai tea drink, so I would be happy to come back again in the future. ECO NOTES (Dine-In) Dine-In Dishware: Reusable plates Napkins: Single-use disposable paper napkin Utensils: Metal fork Water cups: Tall cup made from glass

Chow mein from above. Count em 4 vegan chicken pieces.

I am pained to report that Veggie Today has declined in quality and value. There are better versions of this restaurant in Antioch, Oakland, Danville, SF. Today my potstickers were meagerly filled. I cut one open to confirm there was anything in it. Only a little cabbage. Then my entree (chow mein) was actually, truly, totally unseasoned. No soy sauce, nothing. I was shocked. Also, meagre proportion of vegan meat and veg compared to 60-70% unseasoned noodles- pic attached. $45 for two apps and an entree w tip. I wont be back.

    Island Saland--- this was delicious

Food was great. I'm a meat eater, and I enjoyed the food here. I especially liked the salt and pepper tofu- it was so good. Very friendly staff. Quiet and calm and clean restaurant. Plenty of parking. Yes! I'll be back

Island salad with inedible tofu pieces
    Hannah M.

Wanted to try this place since I hadn't been here in a couple years. Some of the menu items are similar to other vegan places I like so I wanted to try. Got takeout. And the island salad was not very good, the tofu that came in it was hard a a rock, thin little pieces that were inedible, see pic, I had to take out, so that was disappointing. Then the curry noodle soup I got was OK but not something I would order again. Overall sad it wasn't as good as I hoped, since I love vegan restaurants. I hope they can change somethings! And improve!

Sweet and sour beef and salt and pepper shrimp
    Janetha D.

Services was really good, drumsticks were yummy. Salt and pepper shrimp had a good taste, texture and crunch. The sweet and sour beef was just okay, not much flavor in the beef but the sauce was good. Ambiance was nice just wish they had some AC, the music they played was nice tho, modern pop/R&B. Overall it was good I would come back and try some of their other dishes

Exploring vegetarian diets so decided to try this spot out. Came on a Sunday around need and park round the block, easy and free. We were seated and menus brought ( only two people were working at the time). Pretty simple spot, mom and pop owner or small business. We were amazed how many options there were and honestly refreshing. We got their Thai tea and it was great and their egg roll came in pieces of 4. Our foods took a minute to come out but when they did we were happy with the portions. I had the curry and it was okay, came with a lot to offer and filled me up ( just felt like it was lacking something- but this could be my bias from being new to vegetarian dishes). My husband enjoyed the tamarind vegan beef and felt that it had a lot of flavour. Only thing he wished was it came with rice. All in all happy with the portions and options, and we would try again to taste different options. Prices were fair and matched the offerings. Only thing that threw us off was all the floaties in the water ( they didn't tell us if it was infused and thus the residue) so we just avoided it all together. Worth trying especially given the scare full fledged vegetarian restaurant in the area

Are any of the mock meats made of seitan/soy free?

When are they opening up their indoor dining?

They are already open for indoor dining

    Is dining in available now?

    yes :)

When will they open for dine in?

    Yes :)

    Does this place deliver?

Best guess - no. You'll most likely have to Doordash/GrubHub for delivery.

Does anyone know if their fake meat contains gluten? A lot of the faux meats, while soy based, tend to add wheat gluten for texture.

I'm pretty sure the meats are gluten based.

Review #1,101 Posted on 8.18.26…read more The rare double visit occurred for my first time visiting this Yard House. We came here for lunch for our work summer party on Thursday August 6th, then came back a 2nd time a few hours later for happy hour after our work event ended. The food was good. They did an excellent job getting us all set up with a lunch for about 40 people, and had the food and seating chart all ready to roll. Now the seats were insanely cramped for the lunch. It was at 12 pm on the dot I believe, and they had the food delivered to the table right on cue. But we were all rubbing elbows at the table, you could hardly move, maybe adding a table or 2 solves that. The happy hour experience was awesome, server was on top of everything, and we had some good grub and drinks. Would 100% return.

We drove an hour because of all the happy-hour deals and TikTok hype, but honestly, don't believe the hype! The lemonades tasted like water, the raspberry lemonade was barely pink, the server had to replace them and then realized,"it might be out of juice" soda only options. Everyones food arrived and I waited till it was time to go and had to ask my server where my nachos was for them to come out. I had to ask a server multiple times, and when they finally arrived, the chicken was dry, bland, and completely flavorless. I barely even ate it. The pepperoni pizza and chicken strips were good, and my husband's buffalo chicken bites were probably the best thing we ordered. The carnivore pizza, though, was just a pile of meat with no flavor. The birthday dessert they brought for my daughter was cute and she loved it, so that was a nice touch. The bill was under $70 for five people, so the price was good. I'd say the $7-$9 happy-hour items are probably worth it, but you get what you pay!!! An to believe they charge regular prices for these items not on happy hour is insane!! I wouldn't recommend it. Great staff, nice atmosphere, good prices -- but the food was dry, bland, and definitely not worth driving an hour for. Honestly, I'd rather eat microwaved food at Applebee's .
