I went in for some top round to make beef jerky for Christmas gifts. Asked them to slice 6 lbs almost as thin as they could slice it. Shaved almost. Nice young guy up front came back a minute later and the grouchy old guy (maybe owner) in the back wanted to know what it was for. I should've known what that meant. It meant he was gonna slice it how he thought it should be sliced, which was into half inch thick slices. I've had different places do this because it takes a little longer and a little more effort to slice it thin. $50 and 6lbs of top round, and my Christmas gifts ruined. Next time, if the customer asks for it sliced thin, either slice it thin, or tell them no, but don't just go and cut it how you want after I was very specific on what I wanted. Thanks read more

Hands down a great place for fresh meats. I came here looking for a prime rib and they hooked me up. I loved how he wrapped it and tied up up real nice. So if you remember Sweet dreams bakery, then you definitely already know Chris and Jim. They now own Jim's meat market and Chris still makes her amazing chicken salad as well as many other deli items. Hands-down Jim has delicious fresh meat and seafood - the Best fresh cut filet in all of Bentonville. Buy one and grill it tonight! My husband said that their tender steaks even make him feel like an expert griller. Also, do yourself a favor and try the Argentinian red shrimp. We thought we loved gulf shrimp until we tried these. They taste like lobster! Delicious! The sweet Italian sausage is also wonderful. This is a gem of place in NWA. Jim's is a small family owned and operated butcher shop. It's so hard to find a true butcher shop that carries the same variety of meats and offers to custom butcher/cut to order. Plus they carry Boars Head cold cuts, my family's favorite brand. I discovered Jim's Meat Market during the COVID-19. I was going to our local grocery stores and hamburger and chicken and other meats were constantly out of stock. I googled meat markets and up popped Jim's. I am from Reno Nevada and we have a meat market called Butcher Boy. I am kinda picky after using them for so many years. Jim's has all 5 star YELP reviews so I drove on over. Jim's is located in a tiny strip mall off of S Walton. I walked in and while everyone else was out of meat Jim was fully stocked with beautiful cuts of beef, pork, chicken, you name it. I met both Jim and his wife. They are so nice. They are a huge reason I purchased. I ordered some chicken breast's, flank steak, pork chops, and rib eyes. 100% ask about their loyalty program. It gives you 5 dollars off every order of I believe 40 dollars. Nice benefit . My meat came all wrapped ready to put into the freezer. The quality is perfection. Seriously yummy! Not one piece has disappointed anyone in our family. I have been shopping at Jim's now for over a month and I won't go anywhere else for my meat. I now call ahead and order my meat before I get there. It's always ready to go when I arrive. I love supporting this store . As I look back on this crazy time with this virus outbreak I have ended up finding a few hidden gems that I might not have tried. I highly recommend, they are very friendly, we come here when we want prime rib, steaks, ribs, it is all excellent quality. I just wished they had more of a selection on Ham's during the Holidays, they do have Turkey's you can order around Thanksgiving & Christmas. They have a variety there & we love their stuffed mushrooms & stuffed/wrapped peppers. read more

I heard a lot about this place from all over Bentonville and Centerton but I only went to the obvious places like Walmart or Harps. But back home I remember having and utilizing butchers to cut and trim our meats at our supermarkets so I missed that kind of interactions. I did try the Butcher Pint and Ale several times but prices were high and meats did not always look fresh. So I either bought pre packed meats at Walmart but for roasts I went to Harps. When Maria's restaurant was rebuilt I noticed that meat market but I figured it might be very high or very poorly stocked. So I never went in to visit it. But people were talking about it so I became interested. I decided to try it today because I was looking for a particular cut of pork which Walmart has on occasion but not always available. I wasn't sure what to expect, I was indeed very surprised! The area was clean the meats were fresh. Then as I was taking photos a delightful and smiling face emerged from behind. Chris asked me how I was and what I was looking for. She instantly knew what cut of pork I needed but she pointed to the pork butt roast. She asked me how much I needed I said I really only need 2 lbs she asked if I would like it cubed and I asked you'll do that? She said yes. WOW!!!! I certainly didn't want to slice up a whole roast. She brought it out all cut up and I was thrilled. When I took it home I still expected to chunk it smaller like I had to do with the cuts from Walmart. But it was chunked to the perfect size pieces, I was super excited! I just needed to season it and cook it up. Thank you Chris! I read about their Argentinian Red Shrimp which tastes like lobster but that would have to be for another time --- SOON... I WILL be back! There's salmon spreads and Boars head deli meats, cheeses and other goodies galore!!!! I have much more to explore!!! read more
