I looked past them, forgetting my sour cream, and not giving me any hot sauce, but I cannot get over the fact that my shells were soggy. Wanted to try this place as it looks fun. The wasn't too bad. The salsa and cheese dip are good however the chips aren't very good. They also give you a small amount. I got the ceviche which was yummy, however way over priced. In fact everything was over priced for what you get. The service was nice so that helped. kalakas is a new mexican restaurant that has replaced the old san marcos restaurant. the restaurant is so colorful and beautiful inside with this skull-themed design throughout the area. I ordered the birria tacos which were recommended from our attentive and sweet server. we had the complimentary set-up to start, and then my tacos were so delicious! the meat was incredibly tender, and the broth was flavorful and overall well-made. this has taken the reign for the best birria taco I've ever had. Delicious birria tacos. Excellent elotes. There are complimentary chips, queso, and salsa. The queso was runny, though. The staff is friendly and welcoming here. Our server was sweet and attentive. I'm picky when it comes to enchiladas. So I didn't quite enjoy my beef enchilada with chili sauce. There was too much chili and cumin. Pros: We saw some really good TikTok videos that made this place look really good. They have put some work into making it a hip place. Seems to be family owned and they are working hard. The Elote was delicious! And there are some really good photo opportunities here. We got drink refills and they have wifi. Cons: chips were stale, and the main dishes (Birria tacos and street tacos) were disappointing. No alcohol yet but they are working on it! Overall: I'd give them some more time to perfect their timing, recipes, and service structure. read more

Flautas were large and topped with guacamole, lettuce, tomato, cheese and sour cream. I make a dish that is similar. So scratched that itch. Would get them again. Enchiladas were beef with chili sauce. Rather small and small portions of sides. For the $12.99 price tag, NOT worth it. Typical texmex fair. Nothing special. Very Americanized food. Chips were good, salsa was good, fresh and had just enough spice barely. Queso is the typical thickened yellow colored chicken broth that most Mexican restaurants serve. Stop whatever Mexican joint you usually go to and come here! Hands down the best Mexican I've had since moving to OKC. The birria tacos were authentic and flavorful. Ordered the perfect margarita and it didn't disappoint either. Best I've had ever! Service was so quick and payed attention to every detail. Brought us out a fresh bowl of their hot salsa, fresh roasted peppers and all! My kids loved the lights and colorful decor around. The shrimp was bland, the veggies weren't grilled, potatoes were soggy, the steak was sooooo over cooked (think jerky). The flan!!! Was delicious! I would go back just for that!! This was such a disappointment. Saw Tic Toc videos so was excited to try it. The only thing good was the decor. It is amazing. The service was decent too. Our waiter did struggle to hear and understand us. I ordered a margarita on the rocks. It was so watered down and had no flavor. My sister got a Corona with salt and lime that looked great. I ordered the elote corn and enjoyed it. Nothing fancy. I make it better and I'm not Mexican. The nachos were gross so greasy and no flavor. Only had soggy chips, hamburger meat (ordered fajita meat) cheese. No sour cream. No guac. The cheese was not even melted and there were chips with chicken. I was concerned they recycled them. My sister ordered the potatoe Flatatus. They had no flavor other than old grease. They looked like plaster. The waiter took her plate and offered something else. As he was walking away, the man in the booth behind us was given my sisters plate!!! I could not believe it. They literally gave her food that she had eaten a few bites to the customer behind us. My other sister ordered fajita quesadillas but got fajitas. They were cold. No flavor. No sour cream or guac. Greasy and nasty. Needless to say we won't be back Or recommend this greasy no flavor place to anyone read more
