For a restaurant positioning itself at this level, one would expect attentive service, intentional recommendations, and cuisine that justifies the cost. Unfortunately, the experience did not align with the pricing or the promise of a refined dining atmosphere. Wow. One of the words dining experiences I have ever had. This restaurant should be ashamed. The maître D and the waiters provided terrible service. It's a shame as the food itself was quite good. We were a party of 10 seated on a Monday night when the restaurant was not overly busy. At first, the service was slow but when they finally got around to bringing out our food, our steaks, appetizers and all salads came at the same time. They put out so many items on the table that there was hardly room for any plates. No apologies nor explanation given. When we finalized the bill and provided a 10% tip the waiter rolled his eyes. It was quite disgusting. Skip this restaurant and run to Dante, where we had an amazing dinner with exceptional service and incredible food. Why be treated terribly when there are so many other great restaurants in Polanco. read more

Giving them one star, and that's being incredibly generous because the food was tasty, but still overpriced and not worth it at all. Other than that, I would not step foot in this establishment or ever recommend to anyone. I went here to celebrate my birthday and it started off great because they were able to accommodate my party without reservations. They also gave me an initial impression that they were thoughtful because they asked me about my allergies (I'm deathly allergic to walnuts and pecans). We were seated and our server asked again about allergies--great, they're being double careful--love that. But beyond this, things went incredibly downhill. The music was too loud, imo. When I go to a restaurant, I want to eat and be able to have a conversation with the person next to me. But the volume of the music made me feel like I was at a club. Couldn't hear my sister sitting next to me at all. Before we decided on entrees, we ordered the mixed salad because that was one of the only options that did not include nuts (picture of menu included). They proceeded to bring out an huge bowl of salad COVERED with walnuts. After showing the server menu of the exact salad that I wanted, not listing any nuts, he continued to insist that the served salad was correct and it included nuts. First of all, I thought the customer was always right?? But he kept insisting and even kept the death salad at our table to "check with the chef." Second of all, even if the salad was correct, why the false advertisement on the menu when nuts was not a listed ingredient? Why would the server not say anything about the walnuts being included after we JUST told him I'm allergic?? All while we were waiting 30 mins for a salad SIN NUEZ, they did an elaborate birthday celebration for me and put a slice of cake on the table. Which made no sense considering we hadn't even eaten our appetizer, and they didn't even bother taking our entree order yet! That was freakin weird. We finally ordered our entrees, ate, and decided that we were ready for the birthday dessert that they set at our table earlier...only to be told that we had to PAY for that and the sparkler and cake display was just for show?? Never in my life have I ever been to a steakhouse, much less a restaurant claiming to be "upscale," that put down a slice of cake on my table, take it away, then tell me I had to pay for it???? Absolutely abhorrent service. I'm upset that I spent even a penny at this place when there are so many restaurants in CDMX that would offer a better and quieter experience that won't pop my eardrums and try to feed me food that would kill me. read more

Very disappointing experience here on Christmas Eve for dinner. Came with my girlfriend and was able to grab the last reservation of the night on short notice, so I'm sure they were busy and I would generally cut some slack for slow service or missing the mark here and there, especially on a holiday. However, what I cannot excuse is a steakhouse that makes an inedible steak. My girlfriend and I were seated right next to the DJ in the back corner. No biggie, except that they seem to have forgotten about us. We ordered the wagyu ribeye, a bunch of sides, and a couple of rounds of drinks. I'll skip over the poor service since it was a busy holiday and cut to the chase: after waiting over an hour and a half for our food, they brought out an absolutely destroyed wagyu ribeye on a sizzling hot plate that was now cool to the touch. They must have just forgotten about it and left it cooking away until it hit the consistency of an old leather boot. But here's the issue: for a $500 dollar steakhouse dinner, you have to be able to cook a good steak. If you forget the order on the hot plate and find it an hour later, correct the issue before it makes it to my plate. At this price point mistakes shouldn't be happening. Aside from that, the dishes were bland to unremarkable and the best thing we ate that night was the Caesar salad. The kicker for me came at the end of the night when the waiter came around with the machine. Given that they had taken 1.5 hours to make an inedible steak (and I mean inedible, we literally each ate one small slice) and were charging $500 for the experience, I decided to tip on the low side at 10%. Frankly they didn't deserve it but hey, it's Christmas. The waiter then had the nerve to tell me "Sir, we recommend you tip 15% minimum here." When I asked whether he was recommending it or telling me, he said it was not a recommendation. Fine, checkmate. They walked with a 15% tip on a $500 dinner that we couldn't eat. i would reccomend eating here if youre in polanco. its upstairs so the view is great. the interior is beautiful. there was live music on monday when we went. the food was good but nothing crazy - id come more for the experience. my cocktail the life elixir was amazing!! also the service is incredible here. we had like 5 people waiting on us at all times. we got some of the steaks, shrimp, potatoes, and mushrooms. read more

Wow! That's all I can say haha this place deserves 10 stars!!!!!!! The vibe here was incredible as was the food. A little on the higher end but definitely worth it if you're in Mexico city. Let's start with don't make reservations they don't honor, I made reservations for 9:30pm wasn't seated until 11:30pm and from the looks of it many more other guest were also super upset about the wait! Just a suggestion Friday - Sunday maybe you should just have it at first come first serve and not accept reservations there's no point! 2. I was expecting the same as in Cancun but that was not the case no dancers no fashion show they only came out if you were celebrating something which is so different from Cancun and most definitely cannot compare. We were so excited to try this place. I have been everywhere around the world, this by far was the worst customer service. I could not believe that they made us wait only to be told they can't let us in because I was wearing a leather open toed sandals that I specifically brought for the trip to wear with my long semi formal black dress. The lady said "I like your outfit but you need to change your footwear". In shock, I asked what was wrong with my sandals, is it because it's open toed? She said open toed shoes are fine but it needs to have heels or tennis shoes. I could not believe when she said that because looking around, people were in they're yoga pants and lose shirts super casual. I can't believe she suggested for me to wear tennis shoes with my long dress?! She said they're going to hold our reservation when I get back from changing my shoes. Since we were meeting family for dinner and it was very last minute we ended up going down the street to spend 90USD just for shoes and socks! I still don't understand what the obsession was with the footwear seems very ignorant. How are you letting people in that are basically in their sleepwear but not one who was wearing an actual semi formal dress because I decided to wear flats? The whole experience was embarrassing to say the least. I felt bullied and humiliated. The food was overpriced and overrated. The only decent thing was the tomahawk everything else was below average.
