Friday April 19th I came home to find out there was a gas leak in the unit we lived in. So, we called the Phoenix Fire Department which confirmed and shut our gas off. Maintenance was promptly called and he came with an attitude and proceeded to get more upset. Asking why we failed to call earlier. He said he'd return Saturday morning to repair it. He never showed up nor did anyone get back to us. We weren't to local ER and blood test confirmed carbon monoxide poisoning. We will see them in court. read more

don't know where to start. I moved into this apartment complex (augusapproximately June 2018. Ever since then there has been nothing but issues. As of today (11/26/2018) I have NOT had hot water in my shower since Thurs nite (11/22/2018). They were notified that nite and didn't send a maintance guy out til yesterday 11/25/2018) and was supposed to be here between 10am and 1pm. He didn't not show up til approx 2:15pm. He Did NOT speak any English and I had to call a friend to translate for me. The apartment manager has known about my water and she hung up on me several times. He Did NOT fix anything and told me needed a part and wouldn't be avail til Wed (11/28/2018). UNACCEPTABLE!!! There are two Other tenants that have NO hot water either.....Other tenants have been waiting several years to have their roof fixed/replaced....another has her floor caving in and parts already have and the husband is in a wheelchair. There is also a tree that got knocked over, completely, with a HUGE hole in the asphalt that happened during the last rainstorm we had. That is still here and the kids that reside here have been playing on it, on top of it, ect and are going to get seriously injured. There are SEVERAL units with the windows boarded up for several months that has not been taken care of. One of the units was over ran with cats and now they are loose in the complex and the unit still has yet to be cleaned out and the upstairs neighbor has a bug issue. There is also a unit here that does NOT have any heat and they have a newborn baby with them. They were promised that would be fixed and obviously to no avail. There have been several break ins and again nothing has been done. The property was so clean I couldn't believe my eyes and after meeting the manger I understood why. I lived in Indigo lofts they managed .Someone on their staff stole all papers and document from our file including our personal info (Social Security number). Since then my credit card has been compromised 2 times. Then they ask all the tenants to give them a copy of their lease because they did not have it anymore. I refuse to give them anything. When they wanted to raise my rent they did not know my name and my rate for rent to send me a notice for raising my rent. These people can not be trusted. #2 understand why i have lost my peace of mind from the apartment? much less, sleepless nights of being concerned with a fire in the middle of the night. i go to sleep every night wondering if i'm going to be awoken with smoke in the hallway or in the kitchen. i would have no doorway exit. i would require my roommate to pick me up to the window ledge and then i fall to the ground. and once i fell out of the bedroom window, i would have to pull my roommate out of the window. even chamberlin management thinks there is a potential danger according to the office worker on march 3, 2018. an office worker came to the apartment and disclosed that the complex has had many people request assistance with their flickering lights. she researched electrical fires with srp/aps web pages. she said the complex was concerned; an electrical fire could happen in my apartment. this qualifies the apartment as an uninhabitable environment. on march 2, 2018 the assistant manager got mad when i told him i was living in an uninhabitable environment. now they want to agree. on march 5, 2018 an office worker (aka interpretor) with a maintenance worker came inside the apartment. the maintenance worker only spoke spanish and i only speak english. we could not communicate about the work he was going to do; unless there was an interpretor. the diagnosis for the flickering bathroom hollywood lights was in the light switch - supposedly. as the month went by, this was proven incorrect. the bathroom hollywood lights still flicker. as of 4/1/18 the kitchen ceiling light flickers occasionally. the faulty electrical system has now escalated. i am a victim. on march 6, 2018 i was served an eviction notice. c) as for the eviction notice - did you know those evicted are disproportionately women? that's what it says "those evicted are disproportionately women from black and. hispanic..." you can look on this link: macfound. org/media/files/hhm_research_brief_-_poor_black_women_are_evicted_at_alarming_rates.pdf the following article discusses effects on the aged indigent tenants being evicted. link: sciencedirect.com/user/l... my roommate fits the above category. she is an aged woman with a spanish background on social security. this eviction is a night mare in reverse. my roommate is the only one receiving any money. we can't afford the $100 test i need to get glasses. to save for another security deposit is difficult, my roommates' car is broken down and can't afford the repairs. she has gotten the city of phoenix to help her look for an apartment. the good news, the office altered the move out date until july, 31, 2018. recently, i intervened in regards to the eviction and walked over to the office. it took a week and a half to speak with the manager. during this week and a half i found the office personnel rude and incompetant. the meeting was to no avail. that's why i'm writing this post. chamberlin does not offer a reason to vacate the premises. only i have to leave. other grievances: 1) chamberlin is not handicap friendly 2) workers' are not american friendly - they don't speak english. 3)the complex is an uninhabitable environment due to a faulty electrical system. to read full post go to better business bureau web page. read more

I have issues with the charges documented in the ledger for my rent, going back to Jan 2019. I have sent email after email to the property manager, cc'ing the "contact us" email address on Chamberlin's home page, including a spreadsheet of the charges as they appear on the ledger. The only response has been to my original email, by the property manager, saying she would look into the issue, and she made ONE CHANGE to the ledger, simply changing the date on one charge that never should have been charged, period. Today I called Chamberlin's office and was just stonewalled, told that I should talk to the property manager and refusing to even acknowledge my statement that THE PROPERTY MANAGER IS NOT RESPONDING AND I WANT THE ISSUE ESCALATED. There was no positive response AT ALL, no concern or interest in my issues, and I had to practically BEG to speak to the Regional Manager LANA - the person on the phone only VERY reluctantly offered me her voicemail. I left her a voicemail practically begging her to look into this matter and contact me via my cell. I urge all residents to go over there ledger for charges that were not justified per their lease. I have found over $200.00 in errors made by Revival Midtown. I absolutely do NOT recommend renting from Chamberlin/Revival Midtown. read more

I made an account just to complain about your property Renue on Orange. This morning on your gated south parking lot, both the gate to enter and exit are broken. Not only that but the office staff is now were to be found. The hours state that they will be open at 9 am but it is now 10:20 am and one of the maintains guys opened the office just to change the we'll be back soon sign to 11. They are famous of treating tenants very bad and most of the time they will hire any one just walk the street to manage the property for the owner. Most of owner property get damaged without repair. This company sent me into collections even after I notified their property "Napa place" that I wouldn't be renewing my lease. My father got sick in March with covid 19 so I started staying at my parents house to help them and care for him. I stayed in contact with the leasing manager the entire time and considering the office was closed, we were under a state quarantine and other circumstances in the city she didn't have us come in. After his positive diagnosis the entire household was asked to quarantine by the health department and then I got symptoms and we had to start all over with quarantine and shelter in place. We had contacted the office by phone during this time and wasn't even staying at the apartment, it was locked up with our stuff in it until we got a drs clearance to go there so we didn't infect anyone. So while my father fought for over 60 days on a ventilator and 124 days total in the hospital we now have received a collections notice for no notice of 60 days. We talked to her the entire time and this is what we get stuck with during a pandemic and trying to help my parents keep themselves from being on the streets. I would never recommend anyone renting from a property manager by chamberlain and associates!! They don't care about you!! My fathers story has already ran on channel 12 prior to receiving this collections notice in the mail but I plan on reaching back out to Richard at channel 12 and letting him know this is how you're conducting business during a crisis. read more

After a year of not living at an apartment complex they used to manage, I get a letter from collections wrongfully charging me for half a year of rent and other fees. Chamberlin front office literally hung up on me saying "sorry, there's nothing we can do." They proceeded to hang up on me Every. Single. Time. I drove out there on my only day off of work for them to have me standing while they "searched" for my file. They said there was nothing they could do and that it was a waste of my time to drive there for nothing. Oh, but they magically found a line item receipt for all the things I'm being billed for. But no other past documents or lease? They told me to not call back and deal directly with the collections agency. Everyone else in their little cubicles gave their back to me and glanced over without saying a word. No one was helpful, they had me standing, they hung up on me, and they're wrongfully billing me without proving I'm responsible with any paperwork. They were all rude and kept repeating "Unfortunately there's nothing we can do." A bunch of unprofessional thieves. Incredibly disheartening. This business won't last. All I'm trying to do is take care of all my bills, responsibly, so I can fix my credit and buy a home for my daughter and I in a couple of years hopefully. I'm so frustrated with them. Terrible management company. Residents are kept in the dark about problems that affect the community as a whole, such as problems with a property's gate. The gate at my complex has been left open for weeks, and no one has bothered to let us know (unless we call) what is going. Now residents are being forced to use a single gate to go in and out at night, creating a dangerous situation of potential head on vehicular collisions. Each year I experience the same crap with the A/C unit going out they just put a band aid on it and 2 weeks later it goes out again, pretty good about raising the rent but why not replace the a/c units and make sure they are working 100 % we do live in Arizona and being without a/c and with kids does not go together. I have been very excited to move into the 801 Turney apartments and put my deposit down weeks ago. Unfortunately the roaches got to my future apartment before I did. I saw a lot of dead roaches upon walk through and though hesitant was still going to lease the place because they were going to rent to me for six month which I needed. I'm finishing grad school in May and wanted the freedom to apply out of state without the stress of subletting. I changed my mind about renting when a current tenant came into the office very upset about her infestation and how she has had the problem the whole time she has lived there. She was so upset about it and the fact that there was new management again that she eventually broke out into tears. That was my cue that I needed to find another apartment. The location is great but I can't afford to have a bug problem. Also they don't seem to want to give me my deposit back. read more

I have enjoyed my time at Park Royal, a Chamberlin managed community. I see that the some of the reviews are negative, but I have been pleased. Unfortunately, I have lived in apartments the last few years, and NO management company is perfect. I lived in a Graystar community prior to this, they are an "industry leader" and still suffered from some of the same concerns (turnover, maintenance, etc...) Sure, there are tons of complexes/management companies out there, but I think these guys at least TRY to take care of their residents. read more

801 Turney is terrible. The company promised dishwashers to new tenants, showed everyone a model unit with dishwasher but then you move in, they say, "Oh, the dishwasher's coming." but then they wait until you are all unpacked and settled before telling you that the water pressure is not good enough for a dishwasher. This has happened to several people in the building. The maintenance man has no idea of how to maintain a pool and we have had to deal with green toxic sludge in the pool more than once. This morning I did laundry and the laundry room was filthy. Like "I dropped a sock on the floor and I just left it there because I did not even want to pick it up" filthy. But the worst part is that I was in the pool are last night and saw that the maintenance guy was doing laundry last night so he must have noticed that it was filthy and he did nothing. The common areas are all remarkably dirty, the tables near the barbecue are disgusting, the lounge chairs that have only been there a couple weeks are already filthy. It takes weeks to get a work order in because they seem to work on the Ninth-time's-a-charm principle of answering phone calls or emails. For the amount they charge this is really unacceptable. This is by far the worst property management company I have ever encountered. They do not follow the Arizona Landlord and Tenant Act and refuse to give me double the amount of my security deposit that is owed to me BY LAW, due to them not mailing the original amount to me 1st class within 14 business days of when I turned in the keys AS THE LAW STATES. They send my calls to voicemail every time I call corporate and refuse to do what is lawfully right. They do not give names when they answer the phone, they are completely and utterly unprofessional and a joke. Chamberlin and Associates in the epitome of a slumlord. Upper management will no longer answer or return my calls and they expect me to drive out of my way to downtown Phoenix to pick up HALF of what is owed to me. I lived in a property managed by Chamberlin and Associates from 2013-2015 and I'm stealing dealing with the fallout from their incompetence. Property manager lost my money order for rent, and instead of calling or even delivering any warnings, they started the eviction process. I was able to go down with my receipt and they magically found it. Although they fixed the issue in court and were supposed to fix it on my credit report, they did not. I discovered it when I finally moved to another complex. I had to ask them again to take it off my credit report. I just applied for another complex. Guess what? It's still there. Additionally, they apparently charged me move-out fees. Once again, no one contacted me. I even personally called the complex myself to verify that my move-out was okay/nothing was owed and the property manager at the time claimed they couldn't find my file. So I'm in collections for a very small amount that I didn't even know that I owed (because even the collections company they hired as never contacted me) and that also reflects negatively on my rental history. So thanks for ruining my life. If you ever stumble across a property run by Chamberlin & Associates, run. read more

Napa Place is a very nice place to live. I gave them 4 stars because they keep up the property and maintenance service is good but a screen door and a intercom service for the resident would have been nice. Napa does think about us for events or treats! read more

Been here over 2 yrs. No problems. Staff is great. Maintenace does a good job. My only problem is the mosquitoes. The front grass area develops a moat and its attracts them. Had to get a few bug zappers and such. Other than that its a good place to live. read more

I live at Napa Place on 75th and Cactus, and it's a nice place to be for a good price. It doesn't kill the bank but it's also a pretty quiet apartment complex. The staff is awesome, our property manager especially. She always makes sure to stay on top of getting things fixed and definitely makes sure to get to know all the residents. I would definitely recommend to someone. But the only thing I have to say is I wish chamberlain and associates would bring back the option to do split payments online. Just because our paydays fall either way before or a few days after the first. read more

I currently live in one of the Chamberlin apartment properties, and have only been here for three months. So far, I've encountered the following: - Roaches coming from other apartments (confirmed by the bug man who has now been here 5 times in three months). - Bad electrical wiring that started shorting out in my ceiling. I went back and forth with maintenance to fix the issue for over a month before they finally replaced the bad wires. -Flooding from the A/C chiller unit coming down through my light sockets. Took over a month to get it fixed and get my ceiling repaired. -Bad experiences with the office team during the above-mentioned issues. Asked repeatedly to speak to a District or Regional Manager. After a month of complaining, finally spoke to someone. -Horrible smells coming through my air vents when remodeling other apartments. -The people who work here don't seem to care about the tenants. Needless to say, I'm disappointed. This property is old, but with the proper care and maintenance, it could be cute and "retro". But instead, it's run-down and sad. read more

This company is pure evil! I live at Serafina apartments owed by Chamberlain and Associates. Water from the air conditioning unit has been leaking onto my tub for weeks. I went in to notify management and apparently this has been an issue in more than just my unit. Property manager Araceli Garcia is unprofessional and rude; she told me I would be charged for the stains and neglecting the unit. Neglect of the unit I clean my carpets monthly and have zero pets. My fridge hasn't worked properly in months they refuse to fix the issue even when you put in work orders they fix nothing. It takes weeks before they will look at a problem. Maintenance said even if I put in a ticket they would do nothing about the issue of the leak. They suggested I wake up early and clean my tub every time I want to shower. They are unprofessional, lazy, ignorant people.They have not had anyone come to check to see if the water leaking is toxic. They are putting residents health in jeopardy and could careless. I would NEVER allow my child to bathe in that shower. I wonder if they had to shower with dirty water dripping down on them if they would feel the same. DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE THE HEALTH RISK ARE TOO HIGH! THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR RESIDENTS! Save yourself the headache and the money do not rent here. This company manages the most unprofessional, and down right filthy property in Apache Junction; the Sonoma Valley Apartments formerly known as Indian Hills. In the five months I lived at that property the pool was closed three times due to someone actually defecating in the hot tub, teens fornicated in the grass after dark almost nightly, the animal feces was atrocious throughout the property, as were the liquor bottles and beer cans, and the dumpsters were would be filled with old mattresses, couches, broken large screen tv's, smashed in doors and door from frames and I don't believe a single tenants was capable of actually depositing their trash bags into the dumpster. The dumpster conditios would remain this way for days, in the Arizona heat. I even felt the need to contact local police at least once a week and additionally there was an almost constant police presence on the property, and they weren't there for "security checks" as I was told by Anne and Jon in the office. Multiple complaints to the office resolved nothing, including calls to Chamberlain and complaints to the city. To top it all off I haven't lived on this property for 5 months at the time of this writing, and I am still being harassed on social media by current tenants and as such it thoroughly clear my personal information is up for grabs at that complex. I reached out to BBB about resolving this and Chamberlain has yet to respond. And FYI this complex has a serious bed bug issue and has for years. read more

This management company is the worst!!!! A few things you should know before deciding to live in one of their apartments: BTW, I lived at Serafina in Goodyear. First of all, their buy-out fee is $3000 with a 60 day notice. So if anything comes up in your life and you want to or have to move out early, they will ROB you with their fees. That fee and notice is much higher than most apartment communities. Most other communities have a buy-out fee of around $1000 with a 30 day notice. The staff is forgetful, indifferent, and unhelpful. Every single time I called in for maintenance, they either forgot to put in my work order, lost it, or just didn't come for several weeks at a time. I always had to remind them a week later about my work orders. Eventually I just stopped calling them and let things be broken in my apartment. Also, everything in the apartment is super cheap. The rent is WAY too high for what they have to offer. The computers are always broken so you can hardly ever use them. After I moved out, I had to mail back my fob so I wouldn't get charged for it which is no problem, except when they got the envelope with my fob they said the envelope was "ripped" and my fob wasn't in it. So if the mail man really did rip my envelope to get this fob or the envelope just ripped open and it fell out (which I really doubt either of those things happened since they never had a problem with getting my rent check in the mail....), they should not still be charging me for it. Also, they only gave me one mailbox key when I moved in because they still had to make another one (which I was fine with because I lived alone), but then they charged me for not having two mailbox keys when I moved out!!! The first time I renewed my lease they raised my rent $100, which is even more over priced for their cheap apartments. I have lived in many different apartment communities and have never been so disappointed by one like I am with this one. In fact, I regret that I gave their community the benefit of the doubt and decided to live there. They are literally making my life more difficult. I always had a perfect payment record with them and then when some personal issues forced me to have to move early, the only thing they cared about was getting as much money from me as they could. There are about 10 things on my move out sheet they are charging me for that make no sense at all. Overall, this management company/Serafina in Goodyear is not worth what they charge and the problems they will give you after you move. WARNING TO EVERYONE! read more

I have lived at 301 W. Turney for 2 years. Since Chamberlin took over there has been at least four managers and as of now, I have no idea who the manager is. When they change, they do not let you know how to contact the current manager. My problem is this; For just about a year, my apartment has been infested by roof rats. They have brought in exterminators on two different occasions, they set traps for a couple of weeks, catch several, and then stop setting them even though the rats are still getting into my kitchen. They have yet to try and figure out how the rats are getting in. They are now ignoring my maintenance requests altogether. The sad part is, the owner has remodeled the apartments and they look great but no matter how nice a place is when you have to share it with RATS, you feel like you are living in squalor. My advice, stay away from 301 W. Turney, and any apartment complex managed by Chamberlin & Associates. read more
