Love this spot!! The vibe and the food feels very authentic (I've never been to Venezuela but it absolutely reminded me of Colombia!). Super friendly and attentive staff and fair prices. Casual order at the counter style. One arepa hit the spot for me, plus we shared an empanada which was huge! The sauces were delish too. I can't wait to come back.

What the guys determined to be a light snack turned into an early dinner. I got the vegan arepa with beans avocado and platanos. The guys got meat empanadas and arepas with again lots of meat. Horchata and lemonades were delicious. Quick service, friendly staff and clean restrooms. This was a fantastic find for a lunch/ early dinner.

We always pass by this area and never tried until recently when one of our friends highly recommended the arepas from here! We got the steak arepas and love how one side of the arepa is crispy and the steak was cooked well that it was easy to chew which is very important to me LOL Would love to come back to try other proteins!

Haven't tried Venezuelan food to compare any spots but this is my 3rd spot and it's definitely one of the best. The arepas are amazing. So flavorful. The cheesy bread is addictive. Couldn't stop at just one.

Another amazing place near my office I hadn't discovered until recently and glad I did. This place is small and easy to pass by as it's amongst a few other eateries. I ordered online through their website and my order was ready when I walked over to pick up. Pretty seamless. I ordered the Arepa De Pabellón and a side of fried plantain. So good and very filling! I will definitely be back.

I had Chamo back in 2017, and since then I've been thinking about the arepas and empanadas! I finally got around to go again and it was everything I remembered. The food is authentic and has that homemade vibe. The arepas are stacked and full of flavor (highly recommend the pabellón). The inside is a hole in the wall, homey feel. It is small so big parties might have trouble with seating. The cashier was really friendly and gave me some recommendations. The prices surprised me since I remembered 2017 prices BUT that was 7 years ago so can't blame them for inflation A meal here cost the same as a meal anywhere else $10-$20 and its authentic. (Forgot to take pics of food!)

I took a couple of co- workers to Chamo to try it out for lunch and I'm glad we did! Chamo is small restaurant on Colorado adjacent to Lake nestled in with a number of different neighboring restaurants. 3/4 of us ordered different types of Arepas, while the other ordered a breakfast plate. The arepas were huge and definitely worth it. I didn't know what to order so I had our waitress create my own arepa. I'm so glad I did because it came out piled high with so many different ingredients that I ended up taking half of it home. The only reason I'm giving a 4 instead of a 5 on this review is because since my arepa had so many ingredients, it was tough to eat as a sandwich and get every flavor in every bite. I ended up deconstructing the sandwich later. All the flavors were there though so I'll definitely be back to try a different arepa or different dish and will update my review then!

Amazing food!!! Great atmosphere, attention. Service was very friendly! We will be back!!! Come and enjoy! No en fotos pero deliciosamente cachapas y tostones fueron una delicia!!! Regresaré para el asado negro .

Wow the arepas here are amazing and one is big enough to satisfy one person. Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon. Music was blazing the interior was beautiful felt like a tropical getaway. I tried the shredded beef and my husband tried the fried pork. The quality of the ingredient was obvious and I want to go back to try all of the arepas! Unfortunately they were out of the chorizo when we went so hopefully next time. Also tried the iced tea was really unique tasting.

Service is super great and friendly! The tequeños and their sauces are delicious. I definitely prefer the pabellon arepa more than the plate because it provides a little texture variation with the lil crunch of the arepa. I will say the chicken on its own (plate) can be a little dry and def needed the sauce to dress it up. Also a bit pricier than expected. 1 plate, 1 arepa, and tequeños came out to $59 w tip

Should you eat here: Yes! My wife and I decided to pop in during one of our Sunday walks in the neighborhood. The arepas are delicious, fresh, and filling. One arepa is enough for a person. I'm honestly upset I just discovered this hidden gem. I recommend getting the Pabellon and Reina arepa, with a glass of papelon con limon.

I've had Chamo on my Yelp 'To Check Out' list for a while. Really glad that I did. Loved the bright decor. The hammock is a nice touch. We ordered vegetarian arepas and tostones. The tostones came out with these cute little bottles of sauce. They were both tiny but mighty with flavor. I've had larger arepas elsewhere. I'm used to all arepas having cheese so I was surprised when the vegetarian one didn't have any. The beans and platanos inside were very flavorful. When I return I'm going to try the vegetarian plate. Service was wonderful. It was such a pleasant experience.

Everything we've tried is fresh and delicious, but our personal favorites are the arepa la suegra with black beans and plantains, the churros (just a little bit crunchy and crispy on the outside but chewy on the inside and not too sweet), the guava pastelito, and of course the Venezuelan drinking chocolate. I wasn't expecting there to be so many different empanadas to choose from, so I took a while deciding. He was really patient, answered all my questions, explained the different options, and gave me some great recommendations. I ended up getting the Beef, Chili Carne, Chicken, Spicy Potato, Santa Fe Chicken, and Spinach & Cheese empanadas. They were all really good, and I liked that they let me choose from three different sauces/salsas to go with them. Everything came out quickly and was packaged really well. They even included a list showing which empanada was which, which I really appreciated since they all looked pretty similar once they were in the box. I actually came for the empanadas, but they also had fresh pasta and decided to give it a try. I'm really glad I did because it was excellent. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, the sauce was delicious, and honestly I'd come back just for the pasta. There are still a bunch of things on the menu I want to try, especially the sweet empanadas, so I'm already looking forward to my next visit.
