Pabellon Arepa, Plantains, and a Malt Pony Soda

Amazingly delicious Arepas without breaking the bank. Definitely will be my go to spot! The Pabellon was delicious and the selection of sauces enhanced the flavors with every bite.

Glad I picked the bowl. I saw the other items and they seemed a little small for the size and price but i didn't verify. Got the bowl and a balance of all. All the ingredients were good. Wish I could have had sauce on the size but still good. Came to the food truck at smorgasbord. Service was good. The atmosphere the same.

I'm generally a fan of Arepas, which are cornmeal disks filled to the brim with meats and veg. What's not to like? I went with their pabellon arepa, which was filled with shredded beef, plantains, black beans, cheese, and spicy green sauce. The meal was filling and hearty, but it just didn't hit the spot for me on this visit. My garlic plantains were too crispy (bordering on hard). Arepas are one of my favorite dishes as I love the thick cornmeal crust, but the texture of the cornmeal and meat was a little dry for my preferences. I'm glad that Sus Arepas has brought some representation of Venezuela to DTLA; however, I might need to try another arepa from here next time.

Went to smorgasburg for the first time today and found this gem! The Ktown arepas is really flavorful and the garlic yucca fries is super crunchy with a nice garlic flavor. I also enjoyed the spicy green sauce in the Reina. The order came out quickly and overall had a nice experience, will be back again!

been meaning to try this spot and i'm glad i did! i didn't know it was a korean/colombian fusion. the arepa is huge and soo filling! the meat is soft and slightly sweet, the maduros were perfect, and the beans were well seasoned and cooked. the yucca fries were crispy and fried well so it didn't have that starchy feeling. the sauces are delicious too. great service and calm interior.

Great food, great service. Finally a local place I can go to with great food! Highly recommend the yucca fries and the arepas!

Great taste and the loved the options. The staff was welcoming. Ambiance was great and the location was clean. I will definitely be coming back.

Tried the food truck in Venice. Service was super quick. Food wasn't mind blowing, but wasn't bad either. I tried the original arepa and the yucca fries. I'd recommend getting the spicy sauce on the side, my sauce was concentrated on the top, so the first few bites were very spicy, while the last few were quite bland. The texture of the arepa was perfect, however.

My 1st time having arepas! Had them during Holiday in the Park and waited about 40 min. to order and get the food, so beware of the wait time for future events. Also, they did accept cash and card payments when I was there. I got the Original and Rumbera arepas. The Original arepa was kind of plain without the chile sauce, and I liked the crispness & sweetness of the plantains. I enjoyed the Rumbera arepa a bit more; the pulled pork was tender and the Sriracha/mayo sauce added a nice kick.

The original arepa was filled to the brim. Sweet plantains, cheese, and black beans. Not sure if it's quite a $9 item but it was good overall. We've heard there are better arepas elsewhere but we're still looking. Service was fast. The atmosphere was busy.

We both got pabellon arepas and they were so good. We loved the flavors and we were so sad when we eat it all. Wish it was a $1 cheaper but it was so good

I was really excited to finally try an arepa, and suffice to say that I really liked them. They are definitely worth the wait at Smorgasburg! Note that as the day goes on, they will sell out of certain items. Original - Surprisingly delicious. The creaminess of the black bean, the sweetness from the plantains, the heat from that green salsa, and the crunch from the fried arepa bun made for a really complete and rounded bite. I liked it more than I thought I would. Rumberra - The pork was a little dry, but the spicy mayo and pickled onion helped it along. I will definitely be back to try more of the menu!

Plus, when you have cheese, the juice from the meat, and other sauce in it, Mayo is just confusing and unnecessary. The sandwich itself tasted good, but it was a lot of bread for the meat and toppings served. I would've appreciated having some of the bread hollowed out. But if you like lots of bread, then this is your jam. Price is decent for this day and age, and it was a big sandwich. I might come back and try the patty melt. I love Patty melts

Ulew started in 2023 as a pop-up on the corner of Olympic & Soto selling natural juices. Go through the doorway by the flower shop and proceed down the hallway. You place your order off to the right and on the left of the hall is the dining area. The lounge is warm & welcoming. It feels and looks like you are in someone's living room. The walls are lined with artwork by local artists, which are for sale, and there are even books & board games for your entertainment. Our order consisted of Café de Olla, Café Del Dia, Latte De La Barrio, and a Jalapeño Cream Cheese Croissant. My Café de Olla was perfect. The first sip was a delight on the palate. I could taste the notes of spices and a hint of orange. The other two beverages were just as good. The bold, richness of the coffee stood out on the Café Del Dia, and the Latte De La Barrio was delicious. I also liked the traditional clay mugs in which they were served. (Large orders are served in a to-go cup.) The Jalapeño Cream Cheese Croissant was also exceptionally good. The croissant was flaky & fluffy with a generous amount of cream cheese filling and jalapeño slices. In addition to the locals, about 10 police officers came in for breakfast. A true testament to how good this place is. I must mention that the staff are incredibly friendly here. The lady at the register, the man who brought us our order and kept checking on us, and the guy who bussed our table. Not only do they care about serving quality food & drink but they also care about their customers' overall experience. *Street parking.

It's my personal preference for some more balance or flavor in a sandwich, peppers/onions/seasonings. Honestly, Jersey Mike's seasons their veggies better. I will say the bread at this deli was a notch above Jersey Mike's which is definitely a plus as good bread can make or break a sandwich. Mozzarella sticks were great, although they were normal sticks nothing out of the ordinary but I've definitely had worse sticks (looking at you Prince St Pizza...) so I'd recommend them if fried cheese is your jam! Service counter young lady was nice, she was quick and helpful with her suggestions. Small store, kind of looks like a convenience store and then the deli counter is on the right of the entrance and cashier is in the back. Easy ordering process. Parking is in the back, limited spaces. No inside seating available from what I saw, just counter to order and that's it. Grab and go type of spot for sure.
