We got a new Lennox 4 years ago from this company. The coils leaked the refrigerant and we asked for a repair. They quoted us $2600 for the repair which required a total replacement of the coils and the refrigerant and they tried to include a 5 year maintenance policy for an additional $1,000. It is 105° and my husband is 79 and has breathing, heart and kidney problems so we accepted the repair. As seniors we get a lot of bad advice. But he trusted this company to give him a fair price. It wasn't. It was at least $800 more than the other reputable companies charge. They spent an hour fixing the unit. They had asked for payment in full in advance before they would schedule the repair. RED FLAG. I have asked for an explanation and itemized receipt multiple times and have been getting texts saying that they wanted to speak with me to explain the costs and promising to give me an itemized receipt AFTER we talk. Don't hire this company unless you have compared their quotes with reputable companies. Update. This review mostly concerned customer service and the poor communication from Champion. The repair cost may have been justified. But the lack of response to my requests for information was not acceptable. The repair was successful and the house is cool. Dave F (the owner?) has responded with an explanation of what was done. The unit was serviced 2 years ago. Perhaps we could have caught the problem sooner but it was still a problem with a unit barely 4 years old and the result would have been the same - replace the coils. If this leak was a slow leak it should have been detected. But no leak was detected. They are blaming this repair on deferred or no maintenance. All they had to do was call me to explain. But what I got were AI text responses telling me to call them. I made numerous requests for an updated and detailed invoice. I emailed and texted several times. My husband called them and asked. All they had to do was send me the invoice or email me this explanation. I'd have gone away and accepted that I should've known better. Responding AFTER I made a review on YELP shows exactly what I was complaining about. I suggest getting additional quotes and I'll stick by that suggestion. And I would suggest buying another unit rather than Lennox. We never had this problem with the York GasPac that we had for over 20 years. BTW I still have not received the detailed invoice/receipt. I will also contact Lennox to request that they look into this problem with their unit. read more

We were a customer of Champion Air and paid a monthly fee for their biannual inspections and filter replacements. Unfortunately, our most recent experience was disappointing. The technician arrived without filters--didn't even offer to go get them--and instead provided us with a $15,000 quote to repair our HVAC units, which are only six years old. For comparison, we received a second opinion from another company who completed the necessary work the same day at just a portion of the cost Champion Air quoted. Champion Air..they are the best when it comes to servicing your AC Iven: was here right on time 8 am today and worked until noon double checking and triple checking his work till it was perfect He serviced 2 Lennox 5 ton AC's (Signature and Elite models) Both are still under warranty only 4 years old. I had purchased the units from Southwest Air ( from the old owner) I even had maintenance contracts with them all that time. Now I have to file legal proceeding to recoup my money for not replacing the signature model with a new signature unit since mine was a lemon I agreed to the Elite as a temp fix. After several emails no response except they would agree to replace back in Oct 2024. Champion Air came in and figured out it was a board..and is replacing it and will only charge me min labor charge.. There pricing is perfect. I used Champion Air through Costco! My AC was expensive but worth it I thought but almost a year later it was oh by the way your ducts need sealing and your panel that holds the filter needs replacing and it's a good idea to add air filtration so there goes another almost $4000 and then on top of that I get another person coming out which I thought I just had my yearly service, but I guess the first one was a sales person trying to add onto my already purchased AC and I know the work needed to be done, but I just seemed a little shoddy to me and I thought this stuff should've been addressed at my initial appointment and install. Now this new person wants me to spend $1000 more to keep the equipment running more efficiently so apparently that wasn't included in the cost. I just feel like Champion Air is kind of nickel and dimeing me. I just want other people to be aware when they get AC no matter where it's from to find out ok but what are my additional expenses that may come up? Because apparently not everything's included so you pay $10,000 for AC. And then another $5000 for the additional stuff. It's just kind of crazy to me. At this point, I'm just a bit disappointed. I heard about Champion Air when I ran into Kristy at the Surprise Costco. Our a/c unit had been making horrible noise and leaking Freon for 3 years. We had decided to replace it. Our builder had also Putin one that was undersized for our house. We had asked for a quote from another company and got a "well, it will be between x amount and x amount. No actual quote. Nothing in writing. Kristy was very personable and took my info and set us up with someone from Champion who came out and gave me a quote within days. We were pleased with the price and value for our money. We researched Champion and found nothing but praise including from the BBB. And Costco backs them also! Scam Alert!!! We were worried about possible excess condensed and had them come to look our AC unit. Patrick their tech came out to inspect the unit, and told us that the air compressor was out, and it was going to cost us $3k to replace. He then went on to suggest that the unit should just be replaced which was going to be between $10-$11k. He pushed hard for us to sign so they could come out the next day to do the work. I wanted to get other bids so we held off. We had two other companies come out who told us the air compressor was working just fine as well as the AC unit did not need to be replaced and had plenty of life on it. They just suggested to clean the vents. It is so frustrating that there are companies out there that are dishonest, and try and take advantage of a situation. They also charged us a service fee, for working on the unit. Makes me wonder what they did? read more

I purchased my new HVAC system through the Costco Program. It was the most expensive system they offered and it cost quite a bit of money. The first time we used it I ran the air conditioning and it cooled right past setpoint and just continued to cool. I had to shut it off to stop it from cooling. This problem has happened again but not all the time. I was also confused about my warranty coverage. I was concerned about keeping my warranty coverage in effect. The salesman and the installer gave me information which conflicted with the paperwork I received after installation. I contacted the installers customer service and they were very helpful. They agreed with me that the paperwork was correct and the information I received from the salesman and Installer was inaccurate. I also had some technical questions regarding the systems operation. The representative told me I would be contacted by someone who could answer my technical questions regarding the systems operating characteristics. No one from the installation company has contacted me yet. It has been over a month since I was told someone would contact me. As this was sold to me as a variable speed system, I thought the fan speed would vary based on demand but it seems to be an on/off operation like a conventional system. The literature provided to me for the thermostat installed indicated it was a Honeywell T6 which is described as a two-stage thermostat. Having visited the Lennox website, the manufacturer recommended a different Lennox thermostat to achieve all the benefits of the variable speed system I purchased. I rated your equipment a 2 because I'm dissatisfied with the installation company's inability or unwillingness to address my concerns. read more

Their duct cleaners were running late on the day they were scheduled but I was kept in the loop every step of the way so I didn't deduct any stars for that. I generally only deduct stars when I'm not informed that someone is running late. They let me know what was going on and kept me informed. Our air conditioner went out on a Saturday and Champion Air sent Zack out the following day (Sunday) by 10am. He was very prompt and super friendly. He looked over our whole unit and told us what went wrong and how we could fix it. He was able to fix it on the spot which we were extremely great full for. He also gave us a few quotes on replacing everything because we are thinking of replacing it after it starts cooling off outside . I called to report it at 8:35 a.m where Trish, transferred me to Ashley. I'm certain my call was recorded as it is stated they are. One of my units stopped working , called them since they're a Lennox installer . JT came within a couple of hours , checked the unit carefully and spent almost 3 hours but unfortunately 2 parts were defective and had to be ordered . I called the next day about the status and JOSH , told me he is having the parts shipped to his house since it's a holiday weekend and JT will install if it arrives . The part did arrive ! and JT came on Saturday and spent another 4 hours or more fixing the broken unit and checking the other 2 since I decided to get the maintenance plan ( twice a year check ) . JT cleaned up , made sure everything was in place . Charged me only for additional refrigerant since they had to flush the system to do the repair .JT mentioned this may happen when he first came so it wasn't unexpected . I can't say enough how delighted we are with this company . Our units are now working flawlessly ! As a side note , the original installer ( ORANGUTAN home services refused to honor the 12 year warranty I paid for which covers parts and labor ) instead they offered to buy out my contract for a new unit !!
