I hire Benefit Air to check my units twice a year to make sure they keep running efficiently. At my most recent inspection, my older AC unit (14 years old) was diagnosed with a leek and it was only a matter of time before it would go out completely. Charles Watson thoroughly explained our options and we chose to purchase a new TRANE unit through Benefit Air. To my pleasant surprise this company knows HVAC installation!!! They operate like a well oiled machine. They were so organized! Guys arrived on time the day of installation. They prepped the area. Then the new units delivered. The old units were de-installed and placed at my curb. Soon the recycling guy showed up and hauled them off as well as all the boxes and packaging so I didn't have to deal with it. They worked efficiently and quickly throughout the day and were very mindful of my property. They made sure to leave the area spotlessly clean. I asked them to be careful of my landscaping - no problems at all. Many thanks to Nikoli, Kris, and Matt. All great guys :) Benefit sent Brian to my house a couple days later to fix the attic access area that was too small (they had to remove some trim to fit the unit) and it looks better now then it did before! I got a new system installed last October. Once the major cooling season started the system stopped. We noticed condensation coming out of the top drain and a wet spot on ceiling. As soon as the humidity goes up the problem returns. The initial install was wrong and it hasn't been fixed after four tries. They need to send an experienced tech to get it fixed instead of apprentices. read more

Semi annual inspection. Furnace area was checked and cleaned. All components were in range. Carbon Monoxide was checked at the unit and in the house. My gas hot water was checked also! No problems were found. The annual contract was slightly higher than last year, but still lower, or the same as others. read more

Benefit Air Conditioning replaced a heatpump for us a couple of years ago and did a great job so we brought them back out this week for an estimate to replace our second system. Just like our experience a couple of years ago, David S. was knowledgeable, honest, happy to answer the million questions I asked in detail, and wasn't pushy about sales at all. It was incredibly helpful. on top of that, our other system continues to run great. Though we have decided to buy a system Benefit Air doesn't have available this time and therefore have to go with another company for the install, we'll likely use Benefit Air for servicing our systems. We need more businesses like this and more people like David out there. read more

Juan was the name of the technician who was helpful. He inspected AC units for over 5 homes we considered buying.

AC went out last week, and my home owners warranty company could not find anyone to come in same or next day. They said 17 companies have been contacted and all are on hold. After 18 hours and spending a night in the Arizona heat, I called these guys and they came same day. Fixed the problem, and in addition to that they agreed to speak with the warranty company, so I get reimbursed. The warranty company called them and benefit Airconditioning gave them the details. They did try to sell me their products and services, but when I told them I don't have the budget, they didn't ouch as other companies have done in the past. Been a week, AC is working great, and I will definitely contact them if I need them again. read more

I really appreciate the kindness and sweet spirit that Juan had when he came out. I always get aminimum of two diagnostics because of all the outrageous packages that AC companies are trying to sell these days, and I don't have a particular affinity for any company. Juan didn't try to sell me anything. He gave a similar diagnosis and offered to try to fix it by adding freon, explained that it would either fix or confirm I have a leak. Unfortunately it's an older unit and does have a leak, but I appreciate that he tried. The previous company didn't offer adding freon and just told me about how everything (inner coil, fan, etc) were all recommended to replace multiple expensive parts vs replacement of the unit. Now the freon addition isn't going to totally fix my problem but Juan was less dramatic and more realistic about at least trying it. That's more my personality, so like I said, I was happy to pay the $220 to hopefully ride out the summer with. (Bonus) It also resulted in the temp in my large back room getting to 70 at night! I had guests over that night and some of them used blankets/jackets even if the leak puts me back to square 1 next month, it was worth it to keep my guests cool for that event. read more

I noticed our gas furnace was not functioning properly. Having heard Benefit radio ads i reached out to them to see what could be done. Since the furnace had 0 safety features due to its age, they recommended a total replacement, merging heat and air. They helped secure the financing and we have been using them for maintenance for years now. The ac started making i higher volume of noise then i had remembered, a quick call to them had me working with the owner who explained the likely cause of the increased noise, restricted airflow. Everyone i have dealt with at benefit has been professional, helpful, respectful and grateful for my business. I couldn't recommend a company higher than i would benefit air. read more

My experience with Benefit air started several years ago. My old A/C went out in July/August. I was referred to Benefit Air. The initial visit was smooth and appreciated. The technician was informative and talked about the various options. He was able to fix the A/C and take an amount off the cost of installation to secure them the installation, instead of price shopping other companies. The new A/C worked for the remainder of the summer. Issue #1 The next winter, the heater took a long time to heat the house, I called and was brushed aside on the phone, saying that heat pumps take awhile to heat in the winter. I assumed they knew what they were talking about and had a cold house for the remainder of the winter. Fast forward to the summer, the A/C was taking a long time to cool the house. I believe it took two visits for them to finally fix the issue of a leak that was causing the issue. Issue #2 The unit worked fine for the next summer, and then I started to have issues with it not cooling in the winter. I had a technician come out and diagnose the issue as a faulty defrost control board. They were going to charge 114 for a "warranty processing fee" for a piece that was just over 2 yrs old. The installation charge was going to be 350 for swapping it out. (20 minutes of work) After getting a second opinion... The problem ended up just being a loose C-wire connection from their installation..... They were friendly, so I won't give them a 1 star review. But, I would hope for: a correct install a more competent diagnostic effort for expensive A/C work not being brushed off when I say my house isn't warming read more

Kole, the field tech, came out to do an AC checkover on my system. I learned more from him in his visit than I have from many other company techs over the past combined. Honest and up front, he told me a few things to watch for on my 14 year old system to get more life out of it. He never tried to sell me anything, and called before the appointment as I was told he would when I scheduled. This is a most refreshing contrast to our previous experiences with another company. My first home came with an old monster of an HVAC unit. That lumbering giant always let me down. I knew it was time to slay the beast. One more Phoenix summer with that thing was more than I could stomach. The beast fought back, slowly revealing his nasty, little secrets. The original installer never wired the poor monster properly, which finally explained my need for constant rescue when the seasons changed. It had been more than 20 years since the beast first found his mount on my roof, but this was his final battle. He lost. Benefit won. Now my house smells like pancakes when the heat kicks on, which is, apparently what a new HVAC system smells like. Only downside, maple coated carbs are now a daily temptation. This is my own battle to fight. It took three guys to rid me of my nightmare (I'm envisioning myself as sleeping beauty right now, both dramatic and self-flattering), but my knights in shinning armor (and safety harnesses) prevailed. My A/C stopped blowing air in the dead of this Arizona summer. I called another companies "emergency line" first, and over 5 hours later I am still waiting for the dispatcher to call and schedule an appointment. This other company is all over the radio, with "over 40 years experience." So much for going with the establishment choice! Luckily I decided to all call Benefit Air, because of the good Yelp reviews and because it was so close to where I live. I called as soon as they opened and Anthony set me up with a technician for 9-11 am. Cole arrived a little after 11, but did call before 11 to let me know he was running a few minutes late. As soon as he walked in and I explained the situation, he immediately suggested that it was likely a fuse that had blown. Right there I knew I could trust the guy, because he could have easily said he has no idea what the problem might be and then try to up sell me for services I did not need. Less than 20 minutes later, my A/C was up and running again and I was more than happy to pay for some extra recommended service to reduce the chance of another blown fuse. Very happy customer here. MY A/C was workimg fine...all I wanted was the annual tune-up before I went on vacation. They came out and said my system was just fine..l no problems! 9 days later, my A/C went out (first time ever). They weren't able to get there for 2 days. I notice in the other reviews, people had weekend problems and they came out on Saturday... not so with mine! They came out on Monday and said they fixed the problem... a blown fuse. Last nite, (Wednesday) , the A./C goes out again!! I have dogs who don't tolerate the heat well. This company started calling me over and over again to apparently schedule a service request from my landlord. They called me FIVE time from 8:31am to 8:55am. I was in a meeting and kept sending the calls to voicemail and they just KEPT calling. Thinking maybe someone was hurt or injured and calling me from a phone number I didn't recognize I finally interrupted my meeting to step out and answer. It's a freaking AC company! When I told them I'd call them back and hung up they started calling back again! "There's no reason for you to hang up on us, sir" Are you freaking kidding me??? They kept calling when I went back into my meeting and I had to actually block their number. Unless my house is on fire or my child is sick to call me that many times is unbelievably rude. They just lost any shot at servicing my unit and my landlord (who has purchased two AC units from them previously) will no longer do business with them. High pressure sales may have worked in the 90's but this is so RUDE and there are too many other companies to choose from. Stay far away from this one. read more
