Instead of guessing or getting frustrated, we encouraged him to have a conversation with Coach Johny. That conversation changed everything. Coach was honest, clear, and laid out exactly what my brother needed to do to earn more opportunities. It gave him something real to work toward. A goal he could actually chase. Since then, he's put in the work and is now a key contributor on his team. What stands out about TQ is that they truly mean it when they say "trust the process." My younger sister is in the program, and I just wanted to share how amazing her experience has been. When she first started a couple years ago, there wasn't even a girls team yet. I remember Johny telling us to stay patient and trust the process, and he really kept his word. Fast forward to now, the girls program has taken off and is super successful! What started as just a couple girls showing up to a skills clinic has grown into multiple full teams ranging from 5th grade all the way to high school. Our 12 year old daughter is in her second year on Team Quachro, and joining this club has been one of the best sports decisions we've made. Her physical development and basketball skills have thrived. The coaching is positive and supportive, while emphasizing on teamwork and collaboration. My 11yr old son joined TQ 1 year ago after participating in the summer camp (highly recommend summer/winter camps if you want to give it a try!). TQ club on all levels from coaches to players' families have been supportive, encouraging and friendly. You can see that camaraderie with the players on and off the court, and coaches expect nothing less! TQ travel tournaments are also a lot of fun for players and families. So far, we have been to San Diego and Las Vegas with TQ, and it was a blast! The important part, player development! My son is a completely different player than he was a year ago when he first joined. What Coach Johny has established and scaled in such a short-time (just 5-years ago post-Covid) has been nothing short of impressive. From our vantage point, going into our 4th year with this program (now playing silver/gold level tournaments from bronze level), one can understand why. We started the club scene at 10U and have been through trial and error with two other club programs, learning along the way and asking better questions, with the hopes of putting our son on the right developmental track for the possibility of playing at a high level in high school. TQ immediately jumped on our radar as one of the earlier teams to beat our first 10U club team (handily). Then for our second team, we tried out for TQ and another team (no longer in existence) but chose the other team instead. We then proceeded to learn from that experience the hard way also. We also played them at 11U with our second team and got stomped by them as well. As with life, success in sports only comes after learning from failure, and this time around after trying out a second time and making the team, our individual and team's level of success today could only be realized after fair time was invested. My son was added to a team with 4 core players already there and later became the 5th legacy player. As a team, our level of success today was very much earned and wasn't without its ups and downs, adjustment and iteration as with anything in life. Communication and organization is strong (with tournament dates scheduled months in advance and via team group chat) and structured practices adjusted to the needs realized from a previous tournaments. The program culture is supportive but demanding to push players beyond their comfort zone and to be accountable for their attitude and competence (more minutes earned). This program truly pushes to create an environment for all level of skill, with the ultimate goal of pushing all teams to play at the highest level possible, which also depends on the support of the "right" families. I think club ball is vital to learning to play the game as a team but individual skills and game IQ is on the ownness of the parent to know more to skill their kid up. Program/clubs work with who walks through the door and TQ will meet your child where they are and partner with you to take them as high as they set their goals. Ask the right questions to get the right answers, learn more about the sport (so to really support your kid), grow as a sports parent and come see how your kid will benefit...before another family takes your spot. read more

My son had been with TQ basketball for nearly two years. While Coach Jonny's initial passion was a positive, but later he didn't coach my son's group anymore, and the program suffers from a high turnover of coaches. This instability, along with frequent last-minute class cancellations and no make-up sessions, no compensation despite we pay full amount. Communication has been a major issue. One time, I was told by Jonny the class was canceled for few weeks, only to discover via a GroupMe chat that other kids in the group were still having practice. This made me question if the coach's actions were related to my son's skill level. I would have preferred an honest conversation rather than a misleading excuse. Another time, the class supposed to end 6:30pm, but when I pick up my son 6:10pm, I found my son waiting alone and unsupervised, and I found that the class was ended at 6pm without any notification. Based on my two years in this program, I would strongly advise other parents to be cautious. If your child is already talented and good at basketball, this program might be worth a try. However, if they are not, I would not recommend it. I made the mistake of believing this program could help my son achieve more, and it resulted in wasted time and money. If you don't see your child enjoying the practice or improving within the first couple of months, it's best to leave this program and look for another one. read more

I would not recommend TQ. We were in contact with Coach Will prior to my daughter coming out for a tryout on February 24th. Initially we felt that this club would be a good fit as Coach Will was very communicative and open with information leading up to the tryouts. Once the tryouts were concluded Coach Iris told everyone that they would make their decision about the team in the next few days; mind you Coach Iris only acknowledged a handful of the other players in attendance.(Which leads me to believe they already had their team set). After about a week we reached out to Coach Will for confirmation if my daughter made the team or not and all the responsiveness stopped. I understand the likelihood of my daughter not making the team but just say so. This is our first time dealing with club sports so not sure if this is how it is. read more

Great camp for our young athletes. I really enjoy the passion the coaches and staff have towards teaching our kids the fontanels of basketball. We've been with TQ since last winter and have truly enjoyed our time in the program. Johny is so great with the younger kids (my son is 8) which is something that was really important to me when first signing up. He truly cares about the kids and that is evident in all that he does for his teams.
