First year of club is coming to an end. We have had a great experience here. Micha and Christine are coaching and have done well. The season started with tryouts and all parents (from what we noticed) received one on one time with the coaching staff. I assume so we could all get to know the staff and start to open lines of communication. Micha also shared his expectations for this team so that all parents could know what we were getting our families into. Back office stuff was smooth. Brittany was on top of payments and merch that we asked for. Calendars, uniforms and group chats were all communicated without prompting by us. Interpersonal dynamics between girls was positive and pleasant. Coaching and goal setting was set from the beginning, as a parent I appreciated this as our goals aligned. During practice and tournaments the coaching staff was always professional and coached the players with development in mind. U14 is almost done. Don't waste your money- Paid 3k for this club on October 1st (season didn't start till Nov/Dec) End of October we lost our home and had to move pretty far. I reached out to the owner Micah, told him our situation. Season had not even started, he asked me to send him an email and he'd refund my payment. Sent several emails and never heard back from him. My experiences with So Cal Juniors has been AMAZING! It begs me to answer some of the untruthful and negative comments here.. 1. When I left my initial review, I was a paying customer. I fell in love with the sport, so I asked if I could learn the coaching side, and was given that opportunity. 2. I do NOT receive ANY pay from the club, PERIOD.. I have gotten some money to cover travel, and lodging and a small stipend for food. So I'm not in it for the money, that's a flat out lie. 3. Under Bobs training, my youngest Daughter is a starter on Varsity, as a Sophomore and probably would have been as a Freshman had there not been so many Seniors. The training my kids have received at the club is unmatched. My oldest thrived as a middle and with what she learned under Bob and Ram, she is now coaching and mentoring to young athletes as a coach. I get compliments on how well my youngest plays middle, her footwork and court awareness, her hitting and her versatility to play any position at the net! In closing, we have a process of training here that's proven to work, it may not be under the time frame you like, we DO things differently for a reason, everything thought out and planned way ahead of time.. Those who choose to use this forum under anonymity to disparage what we do, it's a shame you actually lack the tact to have a civil conversation, but find strength in the shadows under fake names to do damage to a club that ultimately affects the kids who are staying for the training and out of loyalty.. Team did not have enough players, so no participation in any tournaments. Players allowed to "leave" team. Unprofessional leadership! So disappointed. Do Not recommend paying up front! Coaches were awesome, but equally disappointed in this year's performance. read more

There are some very good coaches at this club, and many have actually left sadly because of how it is run. Speaking from experience, there are only a few left that are trustworthy and know their game. As an insider from experience, it is poorly owned, owner lacks social skills and community building with parents, players, and coaches, and also does not pay employees on time or fully as stated within their contract they have signed. This club used to have an extremely good reputation but has sadly gone down hill over the years. Not saying the players are bad and all coaches are bad, but it is definitely not run on the idea of the love of the game...just $ for the owner. read more

I love this club!!! My sister played only two years for them and she grew and excelled so much. She was the top server on her high school and club team and also an excellent defensive specialist, all thanks to the roots and foundation she developed at SoCal Juniors. The staff is great with the girls, always setting a high standard and always encouraging and teaching every step of the way. They are all on the same page on technique so they don't send the girls mixed messages. It's a fun, professional and great place to learn. The owner/ director is awesome, will always make time for you if you need to and answer any questions you may have. If there was -5, I would rate SOCAL Jr.'s Vball Club just that! Parents, put your investments elsewhere! I've read some of the comments and just to let you YELPER's know, the 5 stars and positive comments are mostly from coaches, coaches' family members and staff members. I regretfully put in over 3k on this dysfunctional club, and wasted a year of my daughter's athletic career. From the administrative department who utterly lacks communication between parents, coaches and themselves. They hire coaches who clearly has no business coaching, which is irresponsible of the club. Records speak for themselves. They have a coach's director who oversees the coaches, more like micro manager. I'm sorry, but I have never seen or been part of a team who takes 15 - 45 minutes break just to talk almost every practice. Half of what he talks about are completely irrelevant to volleyball. You will learn so much about his daughter and roofing business during those breaks. Needless to say, that's not what I paid for! There's also only one coach that I'm aware of who takes pride of the process of being a true athlete. The players rarely warm up, and definitely do not stretch. According to the director "it is not necessary". The younger players were dumbed down as the club doesn't believe that they should be taught to block. In fact, approach were not taught until the middle of the season. I am COMPLETELY DISSATISFIED with SOCAL Jr.'s Vball club. They made promises, but definitely DID NOT deliver. read more

This club was a good family rounded club 4 to 5 years ago. Now it seem to be about the money and not the kids. Coaches are about there family members playing and not the talented kids on the team. Its all made up on false promises and deceiving the parents and the kids. We was cheated out of several tournaments this year but paid $4000 plus dollars. I have some horror story's from the lasts 4 years but just used them as teaching tools for my kids. I have one more year but I refuse to be sent through this bullshit again. Do not go to this club, the director Micah is a sleezy used-car salesman. My daughter played for this club the year before covid hit and the club screwed up and forgot to register our team for the season ending championships. So she got a 't-shirt' to compensate. Then, against my better judgement, we signed up the following year and paid 100% in advance. I can appreciate that covid was unprecedented and there was a no refund policy. But our team put down $800 per player for travel deposits that still have not been refunded. There was no travel or tournaments during covid, so clearly the 'deposit' was used elsewhere and I just got responses about him paying it back 'when he had the money'. Then he just ignored every parent's requests for updates. Now they are trying to start up again...DON'T DO IT!! read more

This is our 3rd year with Socal and my oldest daughter has gained so much confidence and learned so much with this club. She entered middle school and was captain 7th and 8th grade and was always in the whole game. As she approached HS she wanted to be an outside hitter so bad. They worked with her and she entered HS as an outside hitter and never subbed out. My middle daughter has been in the tots program for two years. She started when she was 7. She now can serve over hand, and can pass and dig balls. We will definitely be a part of the Socal family until all my girls graduate HS read more

I enrolled my daughter for 2019-2020 season that started late Nov 2019 for her team. They practiced until first week of March before the pandemic hit and everything shut down. I was hoping to get at least a partial refund of the $3500+ we paid, but no they did not return a penny, not even the cost of tournaments or travel that did not take place. I know it is a hard time for everyone but we feel cheated as we paid the whole amount upfront and my daughter only played 3 months, 1 tournament. and they just kept the rest of the money. read more

We had a difficult time last season, but I'm confident in the changes Micah has made and am willing to try again this year. One of the great changes is that they now have a speed and agility coach working with the athletes. This is really going to help my daughter get better as well. Micah is wonderful and is not "all about the money". He definitely cares about the athletes and is focused in delivering a great product. Definitely invest your $'s in this program and you will not be disappointed! read more

One of the best organized Clubs around. Not to mention some of the most experienced coaches who have a passion for training and player development. The facility is fairly small with only 2 volleyball courts but there is a workout room/gym for strength and agility development for players and parents to use, a homework room for kids who need to be dropped off early or picked up late and on site athletic trainers to help prevent and treat injuries. If you have a daughter interested in playing volleyball this is the Club to play for and you will get the best value around. read more

I love this club. We've been with them for 3 years now. I love the coaches. I have never interacted with such positive people in this sport. So professional, caring and committed. I think someone on the board used to coach Misty May, three-time Olympic gold medalist in beach volleyball. Regardless of the heresay, the standards of this club are exceptionally high. My daughter is learning life skills that are invaluable for when she goes to college and beyond. Coach Steve is truly extraordinary. Work with him if at all possible. But everyone is great. The coaching staff has high standards for each player and knows how to run practices and maximize touches of a volleyball. The coaches not only teach the fundamentals and break down how to pass, set, approach, block and hit, but SoCal teaches the players how to be teammates. So-Cal Juniors Club is the absolute BEST Club your child could play for! My daughter played for 2 other clubs and they did not even come close to the expertise coaching and competitive teams that SO-CAL has to offer. She has been training with their coaches since she was 12, now at 15, already has colleges contacting her. I travel very far to attend practices 2-3 days a week and it is completely worth every minute in traffic. If your daughter or son wants to play club volleyball, the ONLY club to choose is SO-CAL!! read more

This might not be the best Volleyball club in OC compared to other big ones like Seal Beach and Momentous but I'm pretty happy that we signed up with this club for my daughter Mia who never played club before. She started in October last year and she was not able to do overhand serve or set or block the ball since she only played for her school. By the time she played at the Summer Soiree this year, she was able to do overhand serve, pass, set and block and their team won the championship for flight 2 this year. In the beginning, she didn't play much because others had more experience and better than her so I spoke with her coach and set some goals for her to work on in order to play more. I wanted her to play more because she earned it. She played as their second setter and had 90%+ play time because she worked hard for it. I do recommend this club because your kids will improve but it takes work and support from parents and coaches. It's also nice that it's a small club and your kid will not get lost among hundreds of players. read more
