There was singing and dancing - all in good fun, with a light crowd near closing time. I really like everything about this place, from the decor to the beer to the staff interaction. The brews were good & they have some unique offerings. These guys even recommended our next food stop, which I love seeing businesses support each other with referrals. The only hiccup was that the manager closed out our tab & added the customary "you didn't close out" 20% tip while we were still there, as the manager thought we'd left. We found out when we went to close out, that we had already been closed. This actually shorted the barkeep as we definitely would have tipped higher given that we had half off with our Hop Passports... The staff was very knowledgeable about food allergies and assured me they cook the pizza on a separate, clean pan and use a separate pizza cutter. This was one of the best GF pizza crusts I have had! I asked to see the box and they told me they had just switched brands. It was so good. I also had the GF wings, oven baked. The server also told us they were famous for their ranch dressing and WOW she wasn't kidding. It was so good! We will definitely be coming back!! I found a new favorite place. The theme of the place is kind of quirky - there are celebrity mug shots on the walls with descriptions of their crimes, as well as a "jail" photo op. Most of the menu items have jail/prison themed names too. It's definitely unique! I'd heard great things about the burgers so I knew I had to try one. They have nine different specialty burgers that come with two quarter pound patties, or you can substitute fried or grilled chicken for no charge. I got the Reveille (one egg cooked to order, bacon, and cheddar), and Nate got the Brushy Mountain with marinated chicken (you can also get it with fried chicken). Crinkle fries are standard, or you can get waffle fries or sweet potato fries for an up charge. Our food took a little bit of time to come out, but we enjoyed watching the MSU women's soccer game on the big TVs while we waited. The food was worth the wait, because it was super hot and fresh, and the burger was delicious. The patties were juicy and perfectly seasoned, the bacon was crispy, and the egg was cooked just like I wanted (over hard). It was a little greasy but I enjoy a greasy burger every once in awhile. I had a bite of the Brushy Mountain, which was also very good. The chicken was a little small but the flavors were great and the chicken wasn't overcooked. I ordered the "Liberty Dip" which is their version of a French dip. Meat had almost no flavor and the au jus didn't really add anything. Meat portion also seemed a bit skimpy. I upgraded from chips to tater tots. Those were good! I considered a burger but they cook them medium well "unless otherwise requested". I wasn't going to take a chance on rare or even medium rare. Medium well is fine at a friend's BBQ but not when you're paying for it to be cooked properly. I might come back to The Win for a drink but would not order any food again.
