We were looking for a place that was open around 3 on a Friday downtown and to our surprise there was a very small amount of restraint and bars open. We found this spot was open and liked the very green vibe it had. It was happy hour so we ordered the pickle pizza, truffle fries, bruschetta and the fried goat cheese balls. This new DJ is so bad...SoHo used to be the spot because of the music. It felt like a high school dance.

We ate here before a concert the service was ok. It took a while to be noticed but after we were the service got a lot better. My sister and I had a house salad and shared a pickle pizza. A small has six pieces definitely enough for two. The table next to us gave us some of their elephant ear for dessert. Oh by the way the margaritas are very good and alot on the menu looks delicious. read more

Needed a place for a late lunch/early dinner and we found the Social House. Easy walking distance from our hotel and other landmarks in and around downtown. They had outside covered seating and inside seating. High ceilings and welcoming atmosphere. Our server was friendly and attentive. Good menu - both food and drink. Went with a mango margarita and it was fresh and delicious. We got the dirty fries which had good seasoning and a ton of toppings on the fries. I had the Mediterranean taco and pollo asada taco. Both were very good but the Mediterranean taco was my favorite with the unique flavors. My husband got the chicken caesar wrap and had nice grill marks on the tortilla and good amount of chicken. Jon Taffer from Bar Rescue would be a little disappointed here!...My son & I came here on a Saturday night after making reservations a few weeks prior. The place was very disorganized. There's no hostess to show us where our seats were. So, we tried to hunt down a waitress to no avail, luckily we ended up talking with the bartender. Nice gal, but the directions were vague! After walking around the restaurant looking for our seats, we found we were situated in the "Wood Shed'. This wasn't the name of the room but it should be! Ava was our waitress & she did a nice job! It took 45 minutes to get one drink, an old fashioned ( see picture). My son ordered the burger which came with zero condiments. I ordered the hot chicken in a wrap. Both items were fine! I realize the restaurant business is hurting right now so I don't to bash the SH, but just to bring some things to light. It's in great location & it was busy as there was an event going on at Van Andel. Most of the guests were in their 20-30s so service probably didn't matter to them. Being a boomer, the service here was meh. I wouldn't go out of our way to come here again, though the food was decent! read more

First time at the social house. Came for a bite to eat and some mimosa's with a group of friends prior to seeing Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour. Loved the vibe. Goat fritters were the bomb. Perfect mix of crunch, rich gooey goat cheese cut with a cinnamon apple chutney sauce. The mimosa set up was super fun. Test tubes of 4 different juices accompanied a bottle of champagne. Great to split with a group. Will have to come again, soon. read more

Each time I visit the Social House, there are equal pros and cons to my visit. This visit, the wings were very dry, so that was disappointing, but I had to come on here and rave about the goat cheese balls. I've had my fair share of goat cheese appetizers, but these take the cake by far. Crispy on the outside, and rich, melted goat cheese on the inside topped with cinnamon apples. The one word I would describe this dish is "WOW!" When I return, you can bet it will be for these. read more

The vibes here change by the hour. If you come here on a weekend night, it's a loud nightclub with music and dancing. Before a concert it's bustling with tons of people and it's right next to the concert arena. Sundays for brunch is pretty open and you shouldn't have an issue getting a seat. The staff is always friendly. Their food and cocktails are pretty decent. I wasn't a huge fan of their brunch sausage gravy and biscuits. The biscuits were great but the gravy was barely room temp. Maybe it was just that one time. The flavor was good but very salty (but that's what you are ordering when you order biscuits and sausage gravy). Their salads are all really good. I have had a shrimp salad and steak salad and the veggies were all fresh and lettuce was crisp and they use better lettuce than just romaine or iceberg. I also had their spicy chicken sandwich and it was amazing and super tender. read more

First time here and overall it was pretty good! The breakfast veggie scramble was wonderful, hubs had a BYO omelette which was just okay. It didn't come with toast, hash browns or meat. The coffee was not that great either. They have a huge Bloody Mary bar with many assortments and choices. They also have a mimosa flight that looked super yummy too. The service was a little slow but they were very kind. Not sure if it was where we were sitting but it was really cold and my husband and I both had to wear our jackets the entire time. Before arriving, I called the restaurant to make sure it was safe for me to eat there. I checked the menu online and called to verify that they did indeed have Gluten Free options. Upon arriving, and preparing to order, I again wanted to be sure that I would be safe. Turns out that the "Gluten Free" power bowl has a dressing which contains wheat. None of the dressing options for salads are GF. At the end of the day...I would not trust the GF designation. The service was terrible! The server left us sitting for far too long. She was very inattentive. I had to go find her. Due to the misrepresentation of the menu items, she seemed to become annoyed. One thing I can say was appreciated. The server did check the ingredients in the dressings, and even the balsamic vinegar (which contains corn malt...Why?). None were safe. The manager did come up with a solution which made it possible to have dinner with my husband and friends. All said and done, the power bowl was okay. I would not ever return here. read more

Saw a band setting up, and it appears there's live music every Thursday. Believe the band was called blue jay bridge and apparently filling in for a regular Thursday band. It was great to hear live music in this small "venue" and was impressed with the covers they played (Lenny Kravitz, harry styles, Red Hot Chili Peppers). Young crowd. My husband and I came to Social House while we awaited time to enter VanAndel for our concert and I am so glad we did. We hadn't had dinner yet so we chose a couple quick things just to settle our bellies before the show and both were very well executed. We had been wanting to try this place for a long time and unfortunately were a little underwhelmed. The vibes are great if you are into the earthy, wooden and plants vibe. We went on a Wednesday around 8 and had a great server. She took care of our 7top with no problem. We never had to ask for anything and she was super nice. Unbeknownst to us, Wednesday night is college night, and the place basically turned into a club halfway through our dinner, complete with bouncers at the door and strobe lights. It was actually pretty impressive how fast the atmosphere changed, but it's not really our scene. The door was pretty much stayed open after 9 PM, and we were sitting by the door.. we decided to warm up with one last cocktail. That being said, we were not very impressed with the cocktails. The popular drinks were espresso martinis and blackberry margaritas. I have had better elsewhere. The espresso martini had a lot of foam and tasted of strong white chocolate. the blackberry margarita was very sweet but just tasted like a glass of fruit punch. Neither of the drinks were very strong, and I'm not sure the quality match the price point. A couple of us ordered food, and I will say, the portions are big! The pizza was huge, the burgers and sandwiches looked well prepared, and both the salads and sides of mac & cheese were big for what you get. This would be a fun place to come for lunch if you are already in the area, during the day when street parking is available but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back. read more

Today was my first time at Social House and I loved it! The patio outdoors is spacious for being right in the center of downtown. There is an indoor and outdoor bar which is nice if you're in the mood to sit outside. The vibe is very relaxed and laid back. The decor inside is all wood, metal, and lots of green plants hanging from the ceiling and walls. Our server was very friendly and super attentive. I got the Salmon BLT wrap and it was wonderful! My wrap was only $14 and there was enough for me to have two meals. I wasn't able to have any of the cocktails, BUT they looked great. Next time I will definitely enjoy a class or two of the Cougar Juice. Rosè wine, Combier Rose liquor, strawberry puree & lemon juice, frozen and garnished with an edible Orchid Flower. Umm yes please. They have a DJ on Friday's and Sunday's, and live band Thursday's and Saturday's. If you're into Sunday brunch, keep reading.... They have not one build your own bar, but three. They offer a White Russian bar, mimosa bar, and literally the cities biggest Bloody Mary bar. I am very excited to see such an awesome new spot pop up downtown. Not to be confused with Social Kitchen! (Almost wrote my review on the wrong one!) The outside space is amazing and perfect for a sunny summer day. There's a bar outside, lots of tables with umbrellas, a covered room off to the side, and lights strung overhead. My friend and I ordered wine and then tried a couple of appetizers. The Goat Cheese Fritters were delicious but could have used a bit more spice and maybe a creamy sauce. We also ordered the Shrimp on a Boat with a creamy avocado sauce. The shrimp was grilled to perfection and very tasty. Definitely going back to try some more appetizers or one of the salads! read more

We saw this place had been turned over since last summer and decided to give it a try for lunch. The hostess seated us immediately and explained there was a staffing issue in the kitchen, but that we could still order most of the menu. It was a short wait to order what we wanted, but no big deal. Maybe 15 minutes? My husband got the curry chicken dish; he said it was perfectly spiced, and light, contained as much vegetables as meat (which he loved, being a flexitarian). We also got the patatas fritas, which were spiced perfectly and balanced with a garlicy aoli. The star of the show was the goat cheese croquettes, specifically with the flavors of the goat cheese, strawberries and vinaigrette all together. My husband says the pièce de résistance was that they have Wheezin the Juice on tap (which we had only ever had in a can previously). We will definitely be back! read more
