Pretzel - outstanding. Cheese sauce - even better!!! Glad we came to this little joint. A good sports bar with friendly staff. A little pricey for what it is but damn that pretzel slapped.

We ate here before a concert the service was ok. It took a while to be noticed but after we were the service got a lot better. My sister and I had a house salad and shared a pickle pizza. A small has six pieces definitely enough for two. The table next to us gave us some of their elephant ear for dessert. Oh by the way the margaritas are very good and alot on the menu looks delicious.

Take out only review: - cannot comment on service or ambience - big pretzel- has ample salt, Parmesan, and parsley spread on top. 3 sauces: cinnamon butter (eh, not really a fan of sweet with cheese), mustard (my fave!!), cheese (really needed salt) - hot chicken sandwich- a must. Very good. Not spicy to me but add some more hot sauce at home and it would be perfect. - smash burger- husband got this. He liked it a lot. Big burger that was filling for him. - fries- I almost never have good fries with food delivery but these were so crispy and fresh. You can tell the fryer oil is appropriately changed.

Needed a place for a late lunch/early dinner and we found the Social House. Easy walking distance from our hotel and other landmarks in and around downtown. They had outside covered seating and inside seating. High ceilings and welcoming atmosphere. Our server was friendly and attentive. Good menu - both food and drink. Went with a mango margarita and it was fresh and delicious. We got the dirty fries which had good seasoning and a ton of toppings on the fries. I had the Mediterranean taco and pollo asada taco. Both were very good but the Mediterranean taco was my favorite with the unique flavors. My husband got the chicken caesar wrap and had nice grill marks on the tortilla and good amount of chicken. Happy with our meal and experience at Social House!

    This is their Old Fashioned

Jon Taffer from Bar Rescue would be a little disappointed here!...My son & I came here on a Saturday night after making reservations a few weeks prior. The place was very disorganized. There's no hostess to show us where our seats were. So, we tried to hunt down a waitress to no avail, luckily we ended up talking with the bartender. Nice gal, but the directions were vague! After walking around the restaurant looking for our seats, we found we were situated in the "Wood Shed'. This wasn't the name of the room but it should be! Ava was our waitress & she did a nice job! It took 45 minutes to get one drink, an old fashioned ( see picture). My son ordered the burger which came with zero condiments. I ordered the hot chicken in a wrap. Both items were fine! I realize the restaurant business is hurting right now so I don't to bash the SH, but just to bring some things to light. It's in great location & it was busy as there was an event going on at Van Andel. Most of the guests were in their 20-30s so service probably didn't matter to them. Being a boomer, the service here was meh. I wouldn't go out of our way to come here again, though the food was decent!

First time at the social house. Came for a bite to eat and some mimosa's with a group of friends prior to seeing Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour. Loved the vibe. Goat fritters were the bomb. Perfect mix of crunch, rich gooey goat cheese cut with a cinnamon apple chutney sauce. The mimosa set up was super fun. Test tubes of 4 different juices accompanied a bottle of champagne. Great to split with a group. Will have to come again, soon.

Always a good time. Brunch was delicious, and the drinks were on point. Mimosa flight is highly recommended.

Each time I visit the Social House, there are equal pros and cons to my visit. This visit, the wings were very dry, so that was disappointing, but I had to come on here and rave about the goat cheese balls. I've had my fair share of goat cheese appetizers, but these take the cake by far. Crispy on the outside, and rich, melted goat cheese on the inside topped with cinnamon apples. The one word I would describe this dish is "WOW!" When I return, you can bet it will be for these.

The vibes here change by the hour. If you come here on a weekend night, it's a loud nightclub with music and dancing. Before a concert it's bustling with tons of people and it's right next to the concert arena. Sundays for brunch is pretty open and you shouldn't have an issue getting a seat. The staff is always friendly. Their food and cocktails are pretty decent. I wasn't a huge fan of their brunch sausage gravy and biscuits. The biscuits were great but the gravy was barely room temp. Maybe it was just that one time. The flavor was good but very salty (but that's what you are ordering when you order biscuits and sausage gravy). Their salads are all really good. I have had a shrimp salad and steak salad and the veggies were all fresh and lettuce was crisp and they use better lettuce than just romaine or iceberg. I also had their spicy chicken sandwich and it was amazing and super tender.

First time here and overall it was pretty good! The breakfast veggie scramble was wonderful, hubs had a BYO omelette which was just okay. It didn't come with toast, hash browns or meat. The coffee was not that great either. They have a huge Bloody Mary bar with many assortments and choices. They also have a mimosa flight that looked super yummy too. The service was a little slow but they were very kind. Not sure if it was where we were sitting but it was really cold and my husband and I both had to wear our jackets the entire time. Another thing they didn't have was a changing table in any of the bathrooms, gender neutral bathrooms but no changing tables in any of them.

Review is based on after drink only. Didn't have food. Came in after dinner on a Thursday night. First time and was pleasantly surprised with the music playing (top 40). Saw a band setting up, and it appears there's live music every Thursday. Believe the band was called blue jay bridge and apparently filling in for a regular Thursday band. It was great to hear live music in this small "venue" and was impressed with the covers they played (Lenny Kravitz, harry styles, Red Hot Chili Peppers). Young crowd. I'd venture here again if in the neighborhood to catch a drink and some fun, live music.

I was surprised at how long it took for the 2 hosts to greet us - as we were standing directly in front of them. They were talking to one another, and it was probably work related, but to just stand there staring at them for a couple minutes while they ignored us was awkward. When they finally talked to us they weren't very friendly. Anyway, we made our way to the bar and it was full except for 3 seats. I think the bartender waiting on us was new. He seemed like he was pretty overwhelmed/in the weeds. He greeted us quickly and brought us waters when he did, which I appreciated. I ordered a Blackeberry Bourbon Sour and my Mr had Paloma Nuestra. We both enjoyed our drinks they were refreshing and well crafted. For dinner I had a really hard time deciding! I wanted to try so many things! Our bartender said his favorite thing in the menu is the chicken and rice bowl. That was something I was considering and decided to go with that. Excellent recommendation! The chicken was flavorful and so tender. The hot peppers were a nice touch. There was a lot of food too! I couldn't finish it all. Mr had the hanger steak that was served with mushroom and asparagus risotto. He said the risotto was the best he's ever had, and I agree. The asparagus was perfectly cooked and so was the steak. The space is really nice, felt intimate without being overcrowded. We are looking forward to coming back!

What a disappointment, but not nearly as much as our experience at 123 Tavern. We came in at 4:15PM before the Brandi Carlile show needing a table for a party of 8-10. The place was fully booked (but only half full at that time) except the bar (first-come, first-served). Fair enough -- but from the moment we walked up, the manager at the host stand couldn't have cared less. She quoted a two-hour wait, shut down my question about sitting outside with a flat no, and pointed us toward the bar. No sense of customer service at all. Like zero. The three of us who were there took the last open seats at the bar. Then came the real show: one bartender for the entire restaurant AND bar. He ignored us for ten minutes. My wife and friend got their beers quickly -- but my bourbon sat finished at the service station for another seven minutes while I watched the large ice cube melting as it marinated there. When I finally asked where my drink was, I got "I'm working on it." When he did finally bring it, he pushed it across the bar at me -- no apology, no eye contact, his attention on anything but me. I'll be honest about what I can't prove: I've worked in this industry a long time, and the whole thing read like my service got intentionally slow-walked. My drink held back while everyone around me was taken care of. Maybe the front manager said something after our rocky start at the host stand. Maybe they're just all bad at their jobs. I can't tell you which. I can only tell you how obvious it felt from the barstool. Everything after was the same; menus, ordering, closing out, all a slog. I had to hunt down that same manager for our check so we could get to the show, and she was all attitude, zero help. We only escaped because my wife flagged a server who found a another manager. His response to hearing all this? "I'm sorry." Nothing else. No attempt to make it right. For the first time in my life, I left $0 on a $100 tab. I'm a 25%+ tipper. That's how badly this went. Here's the thing, 123 Tavern: if you're going to bill yourself as a place to gather before events, staff the place and train your managers to act like they want customers there. Until then, I'll spend my money somewhere that values it.
