They offer nice and affordable breakfast at lunch starting at $3.99 for breakfast and you can get a bowl of chili for $5.80 with jalapeños like I got. The deli fair looks very nice. They currently only have take out and delivery but they are in every day and ready to serve you. Gloria and George still make the food fresh daily and Tim can delivery it as quick as can be. I have ordered here many times and thought of myself a loyal customer. I have ignored other negative reviews as I like to have first hand experience and judge myself. I usually order a simple grilled cheese sandwhich and I always enjoy it. It's buttered on the outside just like I like it and it comes hot. Now my issue is they have become so rude to deal with, I cannot take that sort of treatment as a customer. I simply asked to order something additional to my grilled cheese and the guy over the phone yells, it doesn't sound like to know what you want goodbye and hangs up before I could get to say anything! I mean I was in shock! I had to ask myself if that really just happened. I called back and gave them a few words. Ultimately, I feel the owners needs to work on their customer service. Yes, you may have people who will always order so why worry about the ones you don't treat well for no reason. Well, this is a community and you should treat the people who keep you in business very good. We all share our experience and word of mouth is less on your end. Sitting across from my favorite Orange County freebie, the Public Library, sits the small deli/restaurant, Champs. I had been wanting to run in there on many occasions but finally got the chance this morning. I knew it was a small space, but I was a bit surprised at how small it really is. There are only 2 stools inside if you want to stay there and eat, but there are 2 tables outside if you prefer fresh air. They have a beverage case filled with sodas and juices, as well as a deli case that holds their lunch meats and various daily specials. Next door to that was a case filled with extra large muffins and pastries...they looked amazing too. If you would like a cup of coffee, you only have one choice since their system allows for only one pot. The smallest cup, I believe 12 oz. was only $1.05. I was pretty happy with that. They have simple add in choices--regular sugar and liquid creamer. So for your buck, I would say you get what you pay for. They do cater if you would like to support a local business next time you're hosting a luncheon. Oh, and they are only open for breakfast and lunch so make sure you get there before they close. read more

When I ordered a hot sandwich I noticed they only had a microwave, so I was thinking about changing the order when the guy taking the order, tore up the order and began verbally abusing me (the owner). I told him politely that he didn't have to be rude, I was just thinking about changing the order. He told me to look at the sign on the wall, it read, " By law we can refuse to serve anyone...." So, I promised him I would warn my FB family about the poor customer service at his business. He said he had been open for 18 years. He was unapologetically, downright mean. My customer service skills would have led me to simply suggest a popular, cold sandwich. But I refused to become angry and simply stated the obvious and walked out. Two of his employees came out to hurl insults at me as I left. It was kind of funny, because the confrontation was so short and calm, one of the employees asked me what I had said. He was standing about 5 feet away from us. So, on to a friendly establishment! read more

If you ever find yourself going to court and a bit famished, Champ's on Central is the place to be. It's seems like it's been open forever, and with a $4.75 lunch special, it's easy to see why. I felt like the only non-regular there, as everyone seemed to be on a first-name basis. Your lunch is what you'd expect from a little take-away deli on Central, hot sandwiches such as Cheesesteak and Ham and Cheese with a bag of potato chips as the side of choice. Decent place. I got the Roast Beef & Cheese Sub Day-Special. $5.25+tax and came with chips and a can of soda. Sub was good deli meat but meat amount was light, could have used a little bit more. Only had a few topping choices (lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles - which was a spear). Staff were a trip to watch, and did wash hands and use gloves. The soda I got (diet pepsi) was old though, had no fizz when I opened it, had a best by date of Aug 2015 (it is July 2016), and had a coupon for Legoland that expired May 2015 (this is what made me check the date on the bottom). Soda still tasted okay (guess that goes to show you how nasty soda is for you..lol). Anyway, overall it was okay. I may try the breakfast sandwich one day, but won't go out of my way for this place. If I need something cheap and quick, I'd go back for the sub-of-the-day special again. read more
