This spot has a very nice ambiance; with outdoor heaters, candles, and lights strung about in the trees. We started with Empanada and Argentinian chorizo sausage; friggin delicious. The beef rib fell off the bone and had great flavor, accompanied by a salad that had a balsamic lemon dressing. The vegetables and mashed potatoes we ordered alongside were yummy. We went during the week to avoid crowds and ordered some wine, apps, and steaks. The service was friendly/ok, and the apps were good. The tenderloin was delicious (served medium-rare) but the (medium-rare) rib eye was very chewy, tough and not good. The fat from the steak hadn't rendered down which made the steak very hard to cut and eat, so most likely the heat wasn't high enough on the grill. We should have sent it back but didn't. For the price- I would stay away from the ribeye. read more

I would never consider going to Cabo and not eating here at least once. While the beef rib is certainly big enough for my husband and me to share- I would never consider that, because the leftovers are even better. Eating here will be one of the best decisions of your week. Because they don't post prices online, we spent about $50 a person including tip and we ate extremely well. Be aware, the beef rib is extremely good, but it is also quite salty so you need to judge your personal tolerance. For appetizers we got a pair of empanadas. The corn empanada is quite sweet and the beef one is suitably beefy and melts in your mouth. And you want your empanadas FRIED. You're on vacation. If you're not on vacation, you are for the duration of your meal. The zucchini appetizer is amazing, so if it sounds good to you, it tastes even better. Ok, for mains we ordered the signature rib as described, and we got sides of mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables. The grilled vegetables are a work of art. There were something like 10 kinds and each was individually seasoned to perfection. Three kinds of pepper, zucchini, onion, carrot, one of the best mushrooms I've ever eaten, potato, tomato and aubergine. All perfect. The mashed potatoes were very good, but there's a clear choice. We were unsure when we arrived, but the staff there was so nice, accommodating, eager to please during the entire evening. We came here for a friends Birthday Celebration. We were staying at the Bonito Rose and after having subpar resort food for a few days this was a welcomed break. The food was amazing, I have no idea what the cocktail was that I had but it was the best drink I have ever had. Service was wonderful. The restaurant atmosphere was welcoming and a bit dark and moody. We all had ribeyes that were cooked to perfection! The grilled veggies and creamed spinach were also very good. We craved for meat tonight so we found this spot. We ordered soup of the day (creamy onion soup) rib eye & the beef ribs. We made reservations & didn't wait at all. Table was ready for us. Not even got done getting settled, we were asked if we wanted to order drinks for starters. My husband ordered the margarita jalapeño (recommended by our server). Food - my beef ribs was made to perfection. My husbands rib eye was a little on the rare side but didn't mind bec when we had them correct it- they did right away & flavor was great. Soup was different but love the fact that it was really served hot. We also asked if ok to change the sides (which i advice) PLEASE try the mash potato, they are THE BOMB! Service - really good. Very impressed with the costumers service and how professional everyone was. Very accommodating. Ambiance - romantic. Simple but really detailed and romantic. We have been going to Chamuyo for years and especially for celebrations. We have loved this restaurant. However, we made reservations for NYE a few days before. On the day of they sent an email saying the minimum charge would be $80/person + 20% service fee (I.e. minimum $100 US per person). This wasn't shown on their web page and they waited until the last minute to notify us of this. I cancelled the reservation and will probably not go there again. This was wrong to confirm our reservation without mentioning this and then waiting until the last minute to tell us. There are so many great restaurants in Cabo, it's not necessary to go to a restaurant that misleads it loyal customers. read more

While I was out on a photo walk, I happened by Chamuyo. Jose was tending the ribs and welcomed me in to take pictures. We chatted for a bit about how he slow smokes the ribs, then I went on my way. After seeing the reviews on Yelp, I returned the next night with a party of 10. Every person at the table RAVED about their meal and experience at Chamuyo. The service was top notch. The full bar had everything we needed, and the drinks were well made. We started with a cheese and charcuterie platter. It was superb, even down to the fresh tomato salsa served with it. Our entree selections included ribs, flank steak, rib eye steak, and fresh fish. All served with fresh salad greens, well dressed in a light vinaigrette and topped with tomatoes that taste like summer (in the middle of January!). Every piece of steak, ribs or fish was served exactly as ordered and almost at the same time. This is a great accomplishment for such a small kitchen. I know Cabo has many great restaurants but Chamuyo is now at the top of my list. Give them a try...you won't be disappointed. read more

We had a negative dinner experience constantly swatting at the flies all through dinner. Loved the meat, but would not consider coming here again due to the the flies. I have been coming to this Restaurant every year and their food(particularly their "special" beef ribs have always been good. tonight I went there for dinner and was served up , at great cost, with. bone covered with 90% fat and very little meat. when I brought it to the attention of the manager, the food was sent back to me with the comment that "they could not see any fat". needless to say they have lost a customer and also the many referrals which I have given. $80 for inedible fat is not acceptable! read more

My brother has been raving about this place for years. He has gone since they were just a small grill on the road. He introduced me to the place in 2018 after they had expanded to a full restaurant and bar. The atmosphere is awesome. Open sky, brick walls, nice bar, just beautiful cozy place. My brother loves the giant beef ribs and that is all he will get. They are excellent, fall off the bone, melt in your mouth large beef ribs. Everything is cooked over a true open flame. In February of 2019 my girlfriend and I returned and split a beef rib and the ribeye steak. The rib was excellent as always, but the ribeye was phenomenal. It had the wood fired taste that is so rare and hard to find. The steak was so good I had a hard time sharing it. Everything about the place is top notch and worth the visit when you are craving some meat in Cabo. I also recommend making reservations in advance! read more
