This place is surprising an Argetinian style jewel in Los Cabos. Centered on different cuts of beef cooked over mezquite wood the sights and aromas are intoxicating. The place is small and cozy with a nice ambiance and a very knowledgeable staff that makes you experience very enjoyable. If you are not familiar with the different beef cut you will be at the end of your dinner. They provide live music and that makes the experience intimate and romantic without overdoing it. We ordered the Mezcalita with 400 Conejos Mezcal, my favorite. I do believe that Tequila is too overrated. They offer also fish dishes, that's nex on my list. Like I indicated the place is casual chicken but I rather call it casual chill. Overall, a nice place for an evening with great company and exceptional beef dishes. Worth a visit.
I couldn't get into Roasted, so I ended up at Chamuyo and not only were they slow to seat me (they weren't busy either), I got seated and to wait about 10 minutes to get a menu. I had to flag a serve down for a menu. I ordered a spinach and cheese empanada, and the thick part of the center was still cold. They brought me out another one, and that one was better, but still slightly cold in the center. I wanted the grilled shrimp entree but they also had a shrimp entree that came with mashed potatoes, so I asked if I can get the entree with the mashed potatoes, but with the grilled shrimp and the server said "no problem". After the cold empanada, I wasn't feeling very confident, so I asked the server again, "my shrimp is going to be grilled right?" And he said, "yes, of course. I'm gonna take care of you." The shrimp entree did not come out grilled, and the mashed potatoes were lumpy, and the sauce smelled like rotten cheese or something, so I couldn't even eat it. The kind server took the fish back and brought me out the frilled shrimp with the salad, and this one didn't have much flavor and the shrimp was so overcooked it was rubbery. At this point, I was starving, and I didn't want to keep sending everything back, so I just ate it, and used as much chimichurri and other sauces that was on my table, just to make it decent. I also got a side order of grilled veggies, and the carrot was still hard, the potato slices were somehow too stale, and the zucchini and eggplant was mushy...only the onion and the bell peppers were grilled just right. This was my first night in Cabo and I was so disappointed that I didn't have great food my first night. Especially with all the other restaurant options nearby. That's what I get for going for the closest restaurant to the one I couldn't get into. Save yourself the trouble and skip this place. My server was really awesome though!
To start DO NOT make a reservation online with Open Table!! We made a reservation and they were closed that day! Got ready walked over and the place was under construction!! They closed for the hurricane season. We did make it back later on when they were open. Food was just ok. Seemed really overpriced. Not what I was expecting at all. The Beef tips was underwhelming. Empanadas were just ok.. The margarita was great. Service was good. With so many other places to eat around the area, I wont be returning... Total waste of two days !! Total waste of $ too!
Cabo has been nothing short of amazing food, but we were looking for an option outside of Mexican or Italian options. We read the reviews and thought this would be a great option, but our experience was only fair. The location is convenient to multiple hotels, and the ambience was cozy and offered a romantic bohemian vibe. We started with the ham and cheese empanada, which was yum, so I wish I would've tried some other options. We also ordered the burrata, which was seriously lacking in flavor and quite disappointing given this is an option at many other local restaurants. Since this was our first time, we notified our waiter it lacked in flavor and was not to our expectations and he stated "we cannot return that item", which is somewhat understood but didn't offer to provide something else as an alternative. For our entrees, we ordered the filet ribeye, the grilled lobster, mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables. Every item lacked in flavor, but was brought back to life by the delicious chimichurri sauce. Overall, I did not find the food worth the expense nor to the caliber of many options within the same vicinity. I would not recommend in Cabo.
We enjoyed dinner at this wonderful restaurant while in Cabo San Lucas. Here are my thoughts: LOCATION: This restaurant is conveniently located right next to several prominent hotels in the Medano Beach area of Cabo San Lucas. It is a short 3 - 5 minute drive away from downtown Cabo and the Marina. ATMOSPHERE: We absolutely loved the vibe of the this restaurant. There is a large, gorgeous tree right in the center of it, and it seems as though the rest of the restaurant was built around this massive tree. It has a very warm, inviting, and comfortable ambiance. When we were there, there was a very talented girl who sang, played the flute, and various other instruments along with well-known songs. Everyone was dancing in their seats and clapping to the music. It made the whole evening that much better. SERVICE: The service at Chamuyo was truly 5-star. From the moment you walk in and are greeted by the manager, Louis, you are treated like royalty. Every single staff member is full of smiles and is exceedingly friendly, courteous, polite, and attentive. Our primary servers were Louis (not the manager) and Felix, both of whom made the experience so much more pleasurable. FOOD: I cannot say enough about the mouthwatering food at Chamuyo. Everything was cooked to perfection, well-seasoned, and exceptionally tasty. We ordered various cuts of beef, which came on a sizzling skillet so that every bite is piping hot. Here are some food recommendations: Empanadas - we tried the beef, chicken, and spinach, which were all amazing. I recommend baked, not fried. Puntana Salad Beef Tenderloin Center Cut Rib Eye For dessert, try the Panqueque **Tip: Ask the waiter to bring you a side of the empanada sauce to have with your beef. It really compliments it.
What is a Mexican vacation without a good Parilla ..... well, this place certainly hits the carnivore inside you with a giant rib! The appetizers: burrata salad, empanadas and sweet breads were delish. The Rib - was divine! The location is close to Medano beach and worth a visit. Bring on the meat sweats and your wallet, it's pricey.
Fresh greens, fun BBQ with fantastic meats. I throughly enjoyed a flavorful beef rib and my mates shared slices of awesome steak. Even seafood shrimp and lobster was delicious . Ambiance at night is elegant with a cool vibe. Singer and band was spot on without being overbearing, although a bit loud.
This was a nice find a lot of places were closed because it was Wednesday in the middle of the week in October. We stumbled upon this place and could not be happier. The chorizo appetizer was surprisingly delicious the potatoes and tomahawk and shrimp were fabulous. The service was unbelievably perfect I dropped my napkin and they brought me a new one immediately . They have a great wine selection cool vibe and live music also. We ordered the empanadas for appetizer they were OK we may skip those next time but everything else was excellent. Ordered the tomahawk and grill vegetables and the shrimp with mashed potatoes and both of those dishes were wonderful. They have a very cool table that sits over a deep well that you can see below because it has a plexiglass viewing area. I will return to this place and my friends who didn't go with us the first night went back to try it and loved it. I took a few pictures and loaded them here enjoy the food was just unreal.

The BEST steak we had in Cabo. Enjoyed it so much we returned for a second visit. Prices are reasonable, especially for the amount of food that is provided. Great cozy atmosphere with live music and very night. Highly recommend dinner here. read more

I was so happy to find Chamuyo on Yelp when searching for restaurants near Casa Dorada. This is a delightful, small, outdoor restaurant with the most delicious & succulent Chamuyo beef ribs! I knew I had to try this place when I saw pics of the ribs on Yelp and they did not disappoint! Everything we had was excellent, cocktails, wine, homemade bread with chimichurri sauce, Chamuyo salad with pears, blue cheese & pecans, grilled zucchini with prosciutto & goat cheese and Chamuyo beef ribs! read more

Such excellent food in this off-the-beaten path magical setting at Chamuyo in Cabo last night. Hubby and I shared the Mixed Grill for Two which included salad, grilled vegetables or mashed potatoes, 3 different meats (beef rib, flank steak, and Chorizo) and a lovely bottle of Malbec. While waiting for our meal they provided focaccia bread with two very flavorful dipping sauces. We could see the Senora baking the bread in the wood fire oven across the room. A talented guitar/singing duo provided soft background music which allowed for comfortable conversation at our table (what a relief!). The meats - and a couple of grilled onion and yellow pepper slices were presented (still sizzling) on a good-sized grill and the server graciously offered to slice up the good stuff. Everything tasted wonderfully! I also loved the grilled veggies - mushroom, carrots, zucchini, etc. We took the salad to go because there was no more room on our table and they brought it at the same time as the meat and veggies. Only 4 stars because: we would have liked to have had the salad first (or at least the option); And their website had a reservation making glitch resulting in a miscommunication. Minor inconveniences. It really was a beautiful venue, excellent service, and a scrumptious, reasonably priced meal. read more

On our first night there in Cabo San Lucas, we went out searching for a restaurant without having a plan. We were actually looking for another place, and our cab driver got lost, which caused us to be dropped off at this location without really knowing what we were getting ourselves into. Initially, we thought there might be a problem. It was 9PM and we were the only people in the restaurant, which we thought was strange. However, the smells coming from the BBQ pit were irresistible, so we agreed to be seated. This location was converted from an outdoor area under some big oak trees, and our table was on top of an old well! We got a little optimistic on the food, partly because we were hungry. They have a special - salad, a bottle of wine, sausage/ribs for $71.00. There were three of us, so we were thinking we'd need some extra food, and ordered a pizza as well. Big mistake. Turns out the $71 deal was plenty for three people, because it includes bread too. Highlights / takeaways: get the beef ribs. Unbelievably tender and succulent, these things will stick in your mind for years to come. Oh and we never touched the pizza, had to take it home and eat it later. read more

Good food (taste & portion size), good service. Music choice is good here too. Warm and friendly, prices on the higher side but your getting what you're paying for. Our waiter suggested a new drink not yet on the menu, ask for it (lemon/coconut/ Bombay). Outdoor seating. read more

Great little spot for people who loved taking photos. Is definitely a go to place for Instagramers. Love the outdoor forest like environment and the food. Lobster was great and people who love Beef shortrib will definitely enjoy as well. read more

Returned to Chamuyo again about 5 years after our first visit and they did not disappoint. Absolutely awesome food quality and service. Staff is the best. From the chimichurri to the provoleta ! The beef, even the lobster, just fantastic! read more

We had a good experience at Chamuyo. It was completely open air which we hadn't known beforehand but luckily the weather was OK. We got the zucchini appetizer that was very tasty and split the surf and turf which was the famous beef rib, lobster, shrimp and asparagus. All fresh, well flavored and cooked perfectly. The beef rib is a bit fatty (but that works for me). Service was great but we were literally the only people there for most of our dinner. When the meat came we also had swarming flies which was kinda gross but they put out citranella which helped but I feel pressure to eat quickly which cost them a *. read more

We pick this restaurant for the Birthday of my wife. Coming from Palm Spring area. And let me tell you, the experience was above and beyond... We highly recommend this place and warranty we going to try different locations an come back. read more

This place was ok. It was on the road to medano beach right by the medano hotel and suites. I had made a reservation online through their website I got a confirmation shortly after. The restaurant opened at 5pm by the way. We started with beef empanadas.., greasy.... and the chorizo - that was good. They also brought out some bread. Then time for dinner- I ordered the rib to see what all the hype was about - it was huge!! It was definitely tender as it had been cooking for 6 hours. The downside is it was a bit salty so I mixed it with the garden salad it came with. My family tried the other cuts .... I tasted them and wish I ordered that simply because they weren't as salty. Cost average per person with no alcohol was $55 US dollars. Net net- I'd go back but would not order the rib and make sure I order a carb like a potato with dinner. read more

Another great restaurant that has been open for 3 years and 2 years being at this location. It's outdoors and very pretty. The food is really good. The star is the beef rib. We took advantage of their beef ribs, flank steak, sausage, salad and wine for $71, which is a great deal. It was a lot of food and we were stuffed. I only give 5 stars to restaurants that have a great ambience, service and food. We will be back! read more
