Was in Pasadena the other day, and had not eaten yet, so decided to go by Nick's, since I had never…read morebeen, and try a few of the items that sounded tasty on the menu. Made a reservation about an hour before, so when we got there we were seated immediately. After a quick glance at the drink menu, had to get the Mai Tai with lilikoi foam on top. So delicious. Had my first lilikoi foam in Maui and I love that I'm starting to see it around Los Angeles now. Adds such a punch of flavor to an after we balanced drink. For food, we started with the bacon deviled eggs and shrimp taquitos. Those deviled eggs were lightly fried, which was different, then had apple wood smoked bacon on top, just a really tasty bite. The shrimp taquitos were also not what you would expect, nice and light but still very good. Entrees we went with the center cut fillet and the prime rib dip with swiss cheese on a brioche bun. That sandwich just melts if your mouth after dipping it in the jous, and the cheese was the perfect accompiament. The fillet was cooked perfect as well, coming out medium rare. Overall, great restaurant in Pasadena. Definitely get the Mai Tai, Devine eggs and prime rib dip. Taquitos were good and, if you're feeling like another hg er appetizer, definitely a way to go . The fillet, also great but I feel you can get it anywhere.

You can tell they really care about getting the little details right. The biggest surprise of the meal was the asparagus fries. They were unbelievably crispy, perfectly seasoned, and honestly addictive. I don't even like vegetables, but they were so good that I literally went to the grocery store the next day and bought asparagus just to try making something similar. That's how much they impressed me. I'm already looking forward to coming back because there are so many other dishes on the menu I want to try. I just wish I remembered our server's name because she was incredible. She made us feel genuinely welcomed, had fantastic recommendations, and her friendly energy made an already amazing meal even more memorable. Nick's definitely earned a spot on my list of go-to restaurants, and I can't wait for my next visit.

Indoor and outdoor seating available. What they do make is delicious. Pasta, burgers, Mexican, chicken, salads, a salad bar. All affordable. But you may want to plan your lunch hour earlier rather than later (like 11:30). If you have your heart set for a specific menu item, you may be disappointed if you don't get there early. Some stuff runs out. If it's gone, they're not making any more. I've been disappointed to have to make a second choice in a moment's notice on two different occasions in four visits. I only have a 30-minute lunch and have little time for a cook to make something. I'm usually ordering something packed up and ready to go. This would otherwise be 4 stars, but it's 3 because they don't always have what I want.

Sometimes along the way, I find a home, like Public Works. First I had to observe and report, then I had to observe and report, now I have to observe and report. All that observing and reporting makes me hungry and this cafeteria does not disappoint. I've installed custom stainless steel stuff in this kitchen that I cut out and shaped myself! I've checked behind the fridges and coolers, this place is clean. Cafeterias, Cantinas, Chow Halls, all hold a special place in my heart (they feed me). My bosses are hiring again, why they don't promote first? I'll never entirely understand (I work so hard). I hear these candidates asserting themselves, freezing up, oscillating and bending at the waist. I want to tell them there's an obstacle course for laborer applicants, but they aren't laborer applicants because no one starts from the bottom anymore - it's romantic and old fashioned, it's quaint and rustic, it's over. For me it's the classic novel found on a shelf in the middle of the night, devoured like a piece of meat. Ground chuck, ground floor, it's the parking lot below the ground floor actually, it's the shovel and the gravel, the shot put and the post hole digger, anyways I could go on forever about what it is and what it isn't, but this cafeteria though, what they've got is a griddle where the eggs spread thin before hardening, and then the other ingredients can be wrapped inside a cozy egg blanket, and then it all gets rolled up into a tasty tortilla. There's salsa and a salad bar, there are sandwiches and snacks, coffee and juice, don't be afraid, it's only lunch.

The turkey and avocado wrap was okay 3/5 because it had barely any avocado but the fried chicken was pretty good. My daughter ordered the Mac and cheese with fries and no complaints there. This place is covered in tvs so it's perfect to watch all sports and have a drink. I'd definitely go back for drinks and try something different on the menu. I can't really speak to service since this isn't a traditional sit down spot but the worker at the counter was decent and the food runner too. Overall lively atmosphere to enjoy time with friends and family!

Stopped by to get my kid a kids meal since it's what he wanted. When a kid complains you know something's up. His burger was a mess, no taste whatsoever. Fries, not even a bit of salt. Fine we doctored them up and he ate. However, an hour later he's sick to his stomach. He's been fine all day prior to eating this meal. He was sick all afternoon and didn't want dinner. Never again! Need to update this to warn people. I ended up having to take my kid to the ER. He now has a stomach virus and has been so sick for days.
