I really like the people who work here. They are really friendly and more conversational than at other high-end stores. They are quick to fix your problems if you bring in a purse too. They fixed mine within minutes when I took mine in. The minus for this specific location is that some people walk in with their kids who are running around and being obnoxious. The sales staff Tiffany, was extremely nice and she wasn't that hard sale to us. She showed us what we wanted and also the other items are that similar to what we want. Highly impressed with the level of client service provided by the Chanel sales staff at the Chicago boutique. I went in with my sister to look for a gift for our mother's birthday. I was here almost a year ago & it was my first chanel purchase. A few days ago i made my second purchase at a boutique in Vegas which led me to write this review to compare the two locations. Upon entering the boutique in Chicago i informed the SA that i had a return( a wallet). She told me(in a rude manner) that the wallet was purchased from a neiman marcus chanel & she can't return it. This was no issue because there was a NM store close by but she had such an attitude. At the time i thought it may have been because of my age(19) or the fact that i'm gay.. Even if this was the case, it is no excuse. After completing the return at NM i came back to the store & picked something out. She went in the back room to process the payment & came back to inform me that i was declined(in front of the whole store). I was appalled. I knew i had sufficient funds, i called my bank & they told me it was fraud prevention(due to travel). However, the card declined a second time & the SA was really rude & acted like i was a peasant. After this, i took out money from the ATM & completed the purchase. I've had several opportunities to come back to this location but have refused because of the poor treatment i received. I don't want an employee to receive commission when she had such a negative attitude. Luckily i received great customer service at the Las Vegas boutique located in the Bellagio hotel. The SA's Sasha and Riko are great! Very patient & they definitely go above and beyond for their clients. I will definitely be back to this location. read more

Everytime I go to Chanel in Chicago, I feel like I am seeing everything for the very first time. The staff are really wonderful and extremely helpful. If they don't have it they will try to get it for you. I have even ordered from the catalog. Ask for Catherine, she is very good and patient. She lets me try on everything and encourages me to look over all the gems in the store before purchasing. I have had nothing short of impeccable, first-class service here. I don't spend much when I go, just some nailpolish or cosmetics here and there, but each time I've been simply dazzled by the care that I've received. Recently, I purchased a Chanel coat from the Nordstrom Rack store on State Street. It was heavily discounted because the buttons were missing. It's a fabulous coat at a price that I couldn't resist. I brought the coat into the store and inquired about ordering buttons. Kathy helped me, and she did investigating to find the buttons that came on the coat. She said the order would take about 4-6 weeks. She called me as soon as they arrived. While Kathy was unable to obtain the buttons that originally came on the coat, she ordered a few samples for me, then patiently helped me choose the best buttons for the coat based on its design and color. I was so thrilled at the attention I received from her. She suggested I have the coat altered by Chanel to fit me perfectly, and I will be soon making an appointment to do. She also helped me pick out the latest Chanel nail polish color, and I am stunned by how beautiful it looks on my hands (#505 Particuliere). I suspect I will be in soon again for another bottle. I may not be able to afford a Chanel handbag yet (I'm still a college student!), but Kathy has made me a Chanel customer for life. Thank you very much for your excellent service! read more

I'd like to express my disappoint and bring awareness to future customers about purchasing from this high end retailer. I bought a classic small calfskin handbag and the snap closure is not functioning properly. I called the Chanel retailer/corporate office and they want me to hand deliver the purse to them to review the issue. I would expect a high end retailer of this caliber to go out of their way to satisfy the customer, rather than inconveniencing me to drive downtown on my own time. I would expect for the high end price I paid that I would receive high end customer service. That has not been the case at all. I"m very frustrated and would not recommend them. read more

Made my first buying experience at Chanel a great one. I didn't feel any pressure or annoyance from her when I was indecisive about my decision. I have been to many Chanel boutiques all over the country and am sad to say this one is the worst. I love Chicago and Chanel so what should be a great experience is not. The last time I was in I was ignored. Not the first time by far. I finally got the attention of an SA (did not get her name) only to be scolded by her that she was busy! I just had 1 quick question but she refused to help and said to wait. Very rude and condescending. So I waited and waited. Finally gave up and got the attention of another SA (Megan) who was great and answered my question. Then the first SA saw me talking to Megan and literally shouted across the store "Thank you Megan for helping me out"!! Unbelievable. This review is for her. If you need help ask for Megan.But I will not be back this was the last straw for me. Go to the Chanel boutique at Neiman Marcus and ask for Jeni for great service. I have been treated very well at this store. I recommend it. I usually make purchases in Miami - because the sales tax is lower, but I get alterations on Chanel items done here, they are quite kind. Also, I bring my vintage Chanel pieces here for alterations and they always do a great job. They don't care whether you bought your piece from that store, another store, or eBay. I have spoken with SA Winnie several times, and she has been a great help, both over the phone and when I stopped in. She could not have been nicer or more helpful. I came in on a day when it was drizzling, and she even got me an additional store bag to carry my lambskin flap bag across the street, so it wouldn't get water spots. She has always helpful in recommending things she knows I might like, and while she doesn't rush me at all, she also doesn't waste my time trying to show me everything in the store. I was so impressed. I walked in yesterday and said hello to the security guard. I did not say a word and just looked a little. From the corner of my eye I saw him let a SA know I was looking and to service me. This all happened in less than a minute and the shop was crowded. She did so right away and was so friendly and down to earth. She made me feel so comfortable and she was extremely knowledgeable of the Chanel merchandise. I spent $1,300...which is not much, but she offered me something to drink 3 times to make sure I was comfortable. It really made me feel appreciated. After I asked to see the boy bags, she showed them to me and did not pressure me at all. She totally understood the amount being spent on a bag like that and offered me to come back and visit it. Long overdue review but I must say, I'm extremely impressed with this Chanel location. I am from Orange County, California and we have multiple Chanel locations both in the area (south coast plaza) as well as in Los Angeles and San Diego. This Chanel has a great selection of bags which caught me offgaurd because just about every location here has a "wait list" for every new or hot bag - especially in the must have, everyday colors such as black, white, beige etc. The day I came in, I was with my two daughters and dressed in my comfy workout clothes and I was greeted with smiles and treated respectfully and given much attention - as were my children. My sales associate was amazing. I believe her name was Natcha. She made great communication with me about a hard to find bag I wanted and continued communication after I had left from my trip. Excellent customer service on her part. She is a wonderful and I highly recommend going to see her if considering a purchase at this location. You will be sure to have a great experience making your next Chanel purchase with her. read more

I was just shopping around with my boyfriend and decided to stop inside and look at what's new. I also had something I wanted in mind and I wanted to see if this boutique has it in stock. I went to different boutiques around town that are located inside of Neiman Marcus and the experiences were so much different!! The staff/associates in this boutique are very kind and welcoming. They didn't make you feel uncomfortable or intimidated. Often times when you shop at a high-end fashion store, the atmosphere inside the store is very intimidating and it can make the shoppers feel not at ease. The shopping experience was great, I was able to find a wallet that I was looking for and a sales associate approached me right away when I walked in. I really can't fit my review in those stars. Amazing service, nice things, and my lovely sale associate, Karyn, who goes out of the way to make everybody happy. I would give 10 stars for all above. However alteration lady, asian one, first name starts from H, derives less from one star. in my experience , on alterations of 2 different items, she was incompetent and moreover was not willing to listen to customers. Last time it took her only 3 times to get simple alteration semi right, with waste of about 3 hours of my time for driving and parking. I had discussed w manager, Vanessa, it would be better for everybody if they will get rid of her, but don't know what they decided.I wish she would not be there by time to shop next season read more

The service at this store is horrible. The sales associate pretty much ignore you. The guards in the store have better customer service skills. One of them asked if I needed help and flagged down the sales associate. I would understand if the store was busy, but each time I went in there, it was pretty much empty. These sales associates are standing around gossiping and acting like they are above you instead of helping customers. I've never been into a Chanel store that I didn't like. In my opinion the staff are friendly at all of the Chanel boutiques and the service is about the same everywhere that I have been. The Chicago Chanel boutique carries a good range of ready to wear, shoes, bags, costume jewelry, accessories, fragrances and makeup. If this location does not have the size or the exact item that you need, they can order it for you from another store. However, often times it is important that you know exactly what you are looking for. If you have the Chanel item number, that will increase your chances of locating what you need, especially if it is a more rare item. Hundreds of items come out each season (Cruise, Spring/Summer, Pre-Fall, and Fall/Winter) and it is impossible for the sales associates to know everything about every item since they don't get each and every item in every boutique. If you are shopping with nothing specific in mind, there is a lot to see. Don't forget that they have other sizes hidden away and other stuff that isn't out on the sales floor. If you are looking for something, let them know and they will help you. For example, if you want a new pair of earrings they will pull out trays of them for you to look at, not just what is in the display cases. Overall, I would say that the Chicago Chanel boutique is a fun place to shop for something very special for yourself or for a gift. read more
