Came here for Sunday night dinner and it was busy(a good sign!), but we were sat right away and our order was taken very quickly. We started off with a spicy tuna crunch roll and the Thai spring rolls. The sushi roll wasn't as crispy as I thought it would be, but it was really good (we will definitely be back to try out more of their sushi!). The spring rolls were good, but not any different than your usual spring roll. We are from NY where the pad Thai usually more savory/spicy whereas and the pad Thai down in NC is more sweet/sour different so we are always looking for pad Thai more like home. The pad Thai here is definitely more sweet/sour but they let us add some spice to it and while it wasn't like home, it was good! (And we'd get it again!) We also got the drunken noodles. I'm usually pretty sensitive to spice and was surprised when this dish didn't have much spice at all (since the description said spicy), but I asked for a side of the chili sauce and added my own level of spice to it. We would give our entrees a 3.5, but the sushi and experience bumped the overall rating to a 4. read more

normally love Chang Thai, always order spicy tuna role, but this time the rice was very different! Very starchy and difficult to eat. I have been eating at Chang Thai regularly for 2-3 years. I was sure how to start this but I'll start how my experience started.. with free soup. I thought it was a fluke but NOPE free, delicious, vegetable soup that almost just became my meal. I share my portion with my little best friend of 18 months and he throughly enjoyed the vegetables and broth as much as I did. Then I ordered some kind of chicken. Don't @ me. I can't remember what it's called. Maybe crispy chicken. I don't know. But it was banging. Came with rice, huge pieces of tender crispy chicken and broccoli. Sounds like a Japanese dish but it wasn't. I added some hot sauce to it and it made it just that something extra special Then, surprise number two: a spring roll type wonton - for free... Their crab packages are also incredible. I have been here with multiple different groups of people and we have never been disappointed with anything on the menu. We order the sea bass, duck and ribeye. The sea bass was very good today. The duck was dry but the sauce was good and the ribeye was chewy. The hot sauce that they make went well with the dishes we ordered. Service was good but we didn't like the fact that they served rice on a saucer and we had to ask for dinner plates. I have heard great things about this restaurant. My family was in the area and decided to try it out. Both the food and service were amazing. The waiter was great with our toddler who left full and happy. We started with the sushi which was fresh and delicious. They have a perfect rice to fish ratio and it was beautifully presented. We also tried the crab pockets which were a better version of crab rangoon. I had the drunken noodles with scallops. They give you a generous amount of protein. Not to be too biased just because we live so close to Chang Thai and it's in a convenient location or that they already know who I am just by my voice when I order a take out, but they honestly have some of the best sushis we've tried locally. Their other dishes are also wonderful. Awesome poke bowl but the high price for the smaller amount of food now is not a good deal. I was hungry after eating the poke bowl so my husband offered me some of his pineapple fried rice with chicken. His had the same amount of food as always unlike mine which was a lot less food. read more

The sushi was amazing, the curry was pretty good, the Pad Thai has a sweet undertone, with a side of crushed peanuts and topped with cilantro. The noodles resemble fettuccini, but the flavor is fair and texture is good. We also got the chocolate cake, the frosting was good, the cake was a little dry, but our waiter gave us a huge piece so that made up for it a little. I give the food 3 stars, but the service was good so I'm bumping up to 4 stars. read more

We got takeout last night from Chang Thai. I was starving and very much looking forward to a nice meal from a highly talked about it establishment. I ordered pad Thai... it was awful. I took one bite and tossed it. Inedible. In saying that, everything else was really good. The street noodles were super fresh and the taste was perfect. Spring rolls were perfectly crisp. I have previously given this place a decent review but tonight's experience was mediocre at best. The menus were dirty. The appetizer showed up up about two minutes before the entree. The dinner was stone cold in spots. The kitchen was noisy. You can do better, Chang Thai! read more

Tried this place for the first time Saturday for sushi takeout. Sushi was good, but not the best we've had here. Came in at prime time dinner hour on a Saturday and it was very busy. Took a good while to ring me up, and the workers were kind despite being obviously stressed. Understandable. We got some specialty rolls and a sashimi deluxe. It was all good, just not amazingly impressive for the price. I felt HakkaChow was a lot better. We got sushi takeout from them last month, also at prime time dining hour on a weekend. Was in the area and had a craving for Thai. Ordered drunken noodles. They were dry as a bone, overcooked, bland, and add-ins were rubbery. Worst I've ever had. Think maybe customers who like these, have no idea what good food of any kind is, or maybe they're drunken. Contributed these to the waste management, and drove across town to Thai Sawatdee where they know what they are doing. read more

The take out here is good but the take out service hasn't been in the past. But we happen to get a great server who was very attentive and accommodating when we dined in. This is hands-down my family's favorite restaurant in the area. With a spice fanatic, a spice skeptic, a meat lover, and a vegetarian in the family, we can almost never agree on a restaurant. This place has EVERYTHING. Stopped for lunch heading from Mocksville to Winston-Salem. In a Harris Teeter plaza so the outside is nothing special but the inside is nice and welcoming. Once inside, the people are wonderful, friendly and efficient. And the food is very good. Had the chicken with peanut sauce and I loved it! Wish there was more peanut sauce, it was that good. This is truly my favorite place to come! Everything about this restaurant is great. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. The restaurant is usually quiet to normal noise volume and it's always a clean place! Each visit I've tried new things and I have yet to be disappointed. By far the worst Thai dining experience I have ever had. The food is bland to the point of tasteless. The Tom Yum soup was boring. The fresh rolls seemed to have decent ingredients but we're flavorless as was the sauce accompanying them.
