This has been my go to place for 20 years! It is wonderful enough that when my friends who moved to Germany come to visit, Chang Thai is where they want to eat first. The staff is amazing! They remember you personally and your dining preferences. Beautiful clean setting with a great Sushi bar. Fresh ingredients chopped that day. Definitely go today!

Like many others, I'm impressed by The speed and quality of service and food. The lunch specials are awesome, three choices of bento boxes, all with copious amounts of food for $14 ish. I had the pad Thai with California roll and my friend had the chicken fried rice with spicy tuna roll. Delicious!

On this visit I wanted to try the Crispy Chicken with Peanut Sauce. This dish comes with broccoli, white rice, and a gyoza with Thai Chili Sauce. The chicken consists of chunks of white meat that is lightly battered, and then deep fried. I'm not a fan of peanut sauce so I ask for it on the side, and as it turned out that was a good call. The chicken was very tasty and nicely fried to a crunchy exterior. The gyoza was pork filled and was very flavorful, and was further enhanced by the excellent chili sauce. The broccoli was fresh and was tasty as well. The rice was plain, but some soy sauce helped. This was good eats in a pleasant environment with good service. And according to my receipt I was waited on Fredy Mercury!!!

Chang Thai is always clean and a great spot for sushi, as well as many other dishes they serve. Service is always good but don't go if you can't be there before 30 minutes of closing. We showed up at 8:00p one night and the lady said, and I quote, "You order fast, you eat fast."

    Packed at Chang Thai tonight!

Update 4/29/24 Still our goto place for Thai food. Got a light fare this time through as we weren't extremely hungry. Seated promptly as always in a clean restaurant. We started with cream cheese rolls, crispy, warm and yummy with a sweet dipping sauce. We moved to Thai wonton soup with chicken, delicious. And finally finished with the Thai chicken skewers. Service was on point and the food was awesome as usual. You really need to give these guys a try. Great Thai food CAN be found outside of big cities. This is a good place to start.

I can't say enough about this restaurant and their amazing owners and staff. Located in a small strip mall next to a Food Lion Supermarket, with plenty of parking in front. From the moment you walk in you feel the love and family atmosphere. They seem to know almost all their customers by name. You are always seated immediately and drink order taken. They have a sit down counter also where you can watch the Sushi Chef at work and have a nice cold beer or Sake. The Sushi choices are amazing, you can even get a boat full for the table. You can't go wrong with any of their sushi. The menu also has many Thai specialties, soups, noodles and great appetizers. I love their Mongolian beef, Silver Noodles with choice of protein as well as their baked Dragon Roll. Start with an appetizer of Bang Bang Shrimp with its delicious spices that are not to spicy or their freshly made Crab Rangoon! Co-Owner/Chef Coco handles the back, and Co-Owner Adi handles the front like a master along with their great staff. Try them out, you will not be disappointed.

Stepped into this place on a rainy day and there was a good crowd of people dining, which is always a good sign! The menu has quite a few new dishes since I was here a few years ago. Lots of creative new dishes along w the regular Thai standards as well. Today I am having the tuna taki for appetizer and my entree is eggplant and veggies w pork and white rice. I love Thai eggplant, don't know how they make it but I can't seem to replicate it in my own kitchen. My Tuna Taki was nicely presented but not impressed w Ponzo sauce underneath it seemed a little watery. Tuna was just kissed on each side where I prefer a crunchy outer w rare inside but when you put on soy sauce, ginger slices and a dab of the wasabi its still yummy. Then came the huge entrees! I put an impressive dent in my eggplant, pork and veggies. Pork was exceptionally tender. Loved it! Waiters are quick and polite, a nice experience. I will be back to try other food on menu!

Great little spot. I called to order takeout for lunch. I was hungry and in need of a treat-yourself-for-making-it-through-the-week kind of lunch. I ordered the spring rolls, the beef street noodles and the mango sticky rice. The person who answered the phone was polite but prompt and promised it would be ready in 20 mins. I showed up 20 mins later, and my meal prepared and packaged. The space was quaint with heavy woodwork but cluttered with the supply back stock. The service was prompt and without frills. I returne to my office to eat and was pleasantly surprised to find everything was still hot and fresh. The spring rolls were flavorful-crisp inside and out. The street noodles were delicious But not revolutionary. The flavors reminded me of an elevated lo mein. The sticky mango rice was my personal favorite. The perfectly-ripened, cold mango complimented the sweet, gooey rice. It was undoubtedly my favorite part of the meal. A solid find in Clemmons. I would recommend them for lunch if in the area.

Made it in without a wait on a Friday night by sitting at the bar. Quick service and even a bit rushed. It is not as good as I remember. I was craving sushi but something was definitely lacking in the flavor. The vibe of the restaurant was fine. However, it felt like everyone was staring at one another. So strange.

I stopped at UPS and hunger hit me. Looking left I saw "Thai Cuisine & Sushi Bar" and turned. It's really a nice looking place inside, but outside looks like a hole in the wall... Huge Plus, the bathroom is clean. I love Thai food so I'm trying their Drunken Noodles. Not Pad Thai which is usually my go to. Of course I begin with Spring Rolls with a plum sauce to heat up with Sriracha. Oh yeah... Yummy. Oh, the Drunken Noodles are so good. Fresh vegetables with pineapple and tomatoes. The soup needs sriracha and the beef was tender and delicious. I guess I could have come earlier as I came at the end of lunch, aka closing time. The food is yummy. I plan to return but I wasn't happy being rushed to finish my meal as I was writing this review at the time and as I was the last one in the dining room. Work on your Customer Service and the rating will increase...

About my favorite Thai restaurant in the Winston-Salem area. Staff is always so pleasant and super attentive. Wait staff routinely check in with you to see how satisfied you are. During the dining experience. Extremely polite, hardworking and efficient staff. The wood decor in Asian style makes this play stand out, so that one could think they're in Thailand. Service is prompt food comes out hot and delicious with very pleasant presentation. -- restaurant is located across from Tanglewood Park makes a great destination after working up an appetite with outdoor activities. Ample parking.

The interior features decorative woodwork, plants, and even a fish tank. The ambiance here is cozy and inviting. Cha Da also boasts a sizeable menu. In addition to the soups, salads, curries, rice, and noodle dishes you'd expect, there are more lamb, duck, and fish offerings than you'd find at many Thai places. Everything else was a mixed bag. Servers are affable, but the kitchen is rather slow. The food ranged from off-putting to solidly satisfying, with nothing really impressing. An order of papaya salad was generously portioned but went too heavy on the fish sauce. A tofu green curry featured a flavorful, coconut-forward sauce that was both tasty and too thin, and the accompanying vegetables could have benefited from more eggplant and less cabbage. A chicken Pad Thai hit the desired level of spiciness and did not skimp on the tamarind. While it was sweeter than I've had elsewhere, it hit the spot overall. Cha Da Thai's setting would make it an attractive dine-in destination if only the food were more consistent. As-is, Winston-Salem has better Thai options.

The Yellowfin Poke, another good choice for us, a decent serving of succulent tuna with seaweed and a lite coating of seasame oil tossed with some seeds. The California roll was classically prepared and true to type. A decent roll with nice flavor and proportions. The Shrimp with mushrooms and broccoli, again a decent portion with lots of tender whole shrimp, sauteed mushrooms and steamed broccoli. This is a good meal as well, nicely prepared and good flavor. Then for dessert, we tried the Tempura fried Cheesecake, a decadent treat and interesting twist to cheesecake. Batter dipped and flash fried to golden brown, with a chocolate drizzle. They have Malaysian food and a specialty menu for khmer food. Khmer food is not knowned much in the east but its beginning to be more learned about and popular. There food is rich in flavor and there cuisine is mostly known for there use of fresh herbs, coconut milk and aromatic spice paste;known as kroeung(lemon grass paste). I decided to try some entrees from the Khmer menu. I tryed the Malaysian Roti appetizer with side curry. It is so so delicous. The curry is tasty too but a little too sweet for my taste. Main entrees I tryed was the chicken kroeung (sour lemongrass soup) and the braised pork meat on bone cooked in soy sauce( Malaysian style but Khmer people have a similar dish). The chicken kroeung is soup for the soul, filled with alot of green veggies and best eaten with white rice. The braised pork meat is great too. Cooked just right and seasoned good. Its not sweet or salty. Usually I would try braised meat in soy at other restaurants either it would be way too sweet or salty but they made theres just right. These items made up a very nice meal. The duck is chopped into chunks with bone in, and is plated with a nice amount of rich broth, with just a hint of sweetness. The chunked up approach for the duck does result in some small pieces of bone to be picked through, in some cases fairly carefully. The picking through the bones was definitely worth it. I'm looking forward to trying additional Cambodian dishes.
