This is in our top 2 favorite places in the area. Literally out of anything else. (The other is Southern Roots). Every time we've come here the service is outstanding. Simply Thai is more of maybe an Asian fusion? The interior is small and welcoming. Good for date night for sure. It's quiet and you can enjoy your party you are there with. The seats are wooden which is my only complaint. I wish it was more comfortable seating. The atmosphere is beautiful and the food is absolutely outstanding. Everything we've ordered has been a flavor explosion in our mouth. The sushi is fresh and incredible. Every dinner and entrée that we've ordered has resulted in oohs and aaahs and oh my God! I literally can't say enough about this place. The fried rice is perfect. Soft and flavorful and goes deliciously into any sauce from any entree. The Oh baby shot sushi served in the little spoons is absolutely delicious. The HPU roll melted in our mouths. This last time we had pineapple chicken for the first time which resulted in more noises and we always share our food because everything we get is so delicious. We both want all of it. Was a bit nervous about the low reviews but went there for a quick late night dinner with the wife who had the Pad Thai, while I had the Pad Prik. The food was pretty and I did appreciate their their Thai Hot was actually sufficiently hot! There weren't many in the restaurant when we arrived (within an hour if closing on a weekday), but we were still seated and the service was good overall. At first this service started off a little slow. We did have a party of nine. But the staff was very friendly. Everything tasted amazing the money bags, a.k.a. crab wontons you'll want to order. They're pretty small. The calamari was good. It was also a small portion the tuna shots they were amazing. Tuna wrapped with crab salad and a Ponzu sauce. The lettuce wraps were pretty good. Wish there was a sauce to drizzle over top for the main course. I had the pad Thai now most Thai places they ask you how hot do you want it and we usually order the spices that they have And it's not spicy enough. Be careful with this place. I can't believe that I have not been here to eat yet. My first experience was pretty amazing and I will definitely be back. I got Thai yellow curry, tofu and we shared a volcano roll as an appetizer. The curry had all of the right flavors. It was more Brothy than creamy compared to other curries I have had but still delicious! Just the right amount of heat also! The volcano role was a smoked salmon roll that was deep-fried tempura style. I normally do not get cooked rolls, but this one was amazing! We dined her a couple weeks ago. We had a tennis banquet in the lower room area of the restaurant. The space is very nice and perfect for a party. There's a completely separate bar for this area as well as a TV, karaoke and couches. It was a bit chilly in that room but it warmed up once the space was filled with people. There's also a cool fake swing for IG pics. The food was delicious. I had chicken pad Thai and my husband had shrimp pad Thai. Both were really good. Others at our table had drunken noodles, beef pho, lettuce wraps, spring rolls and a shrimp app. Everyone said their food was good and the portions were decent. We'll definitely be back. read more

We dined in with a group of 7, we arrived about 30 minutes before they closed and we were still treated with 5 staff service. Our waitress was beefy friendly and helpful with questions we had on the menu and suggestions. She recommend a tuna sushi roll that was a great bite of fresh air with a hint of sweetness. The sauce for the calamari was 10/10, just wish the calamari had been a tiny bigger. Lettuce wraps were filled with flavor and well seasoned. For my main entree I had the Pork Pad Thai, Pork was nicely cooked and had crunchy edges, adding texture to every bite alongside the peanuts. I ordered medium spicy and this was the first time I can say it was actually spicy. Definitely recommend adding it if you like a little kick, but probably would recommend the light spicy. Of particular tasty tasty note is the Lady Gaga roll. Delicious, fresh salmon is beset by some sweet cream cheese and sriracha--absolute sushi perfection. The rest of the pan-Asian menu offers warm and hearty curries, spicy and savory rice dishes, and dumplings, rolls, and skewers galore. There's not a ton of real estate inside if it gets crowded--tight corners and limited space may make you feel a tad closed-in, but in this humble foodie's opinion, it's more than worth it. read more

This was so very bland! No flavor and poor service. We love Thai food but there were no spices, chilis, nor flavor in either of our dishes. My husband had the Massaman curry that he asked to be very spicy. It came with no heat nor flavor whatsoever. How do you make a bland curry? The chunks of sweet potato were dry and flavorless too. And my Lad Na was swimming in a tasteless "gravy". We flagged a server and asked for pepper and chili after tasting our dishes. She brought sweet chili and a pepper shaker without speaking then walked away and no one checked on us for 20 min and we had finished. This wasn't due to any lack of staff ; there were 3-4 servers and two managers in addition to two other employees behind the counter. We spoke to the manager nicely about the lack of heat and flavor and she just said we "should have asked for chili flakes, maybe next time". Inattentive staff, poor management and bland food. 2.5 stars. We won't be returning. read more

Very poor service from the waiter. My father and I were quickly seated when we entered but the good service ended about there. The waiter was poorly communicative and was sparse to check up on us, almost seemingly ignoring us. As we placed orders for drinks, she nearly walked off before I could place mine, and took very long to bring, which involved asking twice over a period of 10 minutes after my father's was delivered. It was sitting on the bar, which she brought over without a word when we had asked again. I'm pretty patient, as I understand it's a hard job to perform, and I don't like to leave poor reviews, but I felt I had to after tonight. Especially if the food is priced as high as it is here. We had to flag down a different waiter for the check, as well. Overall, we were left feeling the dinner could've been better spent elsewhere. read more

Food is great. Service is horrible. I just spent 30 minutes waiting on two summer rolls only to be told they couldn't cash me out. I live 2 minutes from them but they have lost a patron for life. Walking in, the aesthetic of the restaurant was so pleasing. It was a nice and calming atmosphere and I give the ambiance 10/10. The dressing for the salad was interesting. Personally I found it a bit too sour for my liking. Service was nice and drinks were good. I recommend the Sake Pomegranate Martini if you have a sweet tooth, very delicious, it was like drinking a fruity donut! For entrees I tried the Spicy Basil Fried Rice with chicken and Pad Thai with beef. The fried rice was flavorful and the chicken was so tender and juicy. I really love Simply Thai. I have not been to the Burlington location but I love the Jamestown location. The restaurant is small and intimate with a Modern Industrial flare. An affiliate of the same-named restaurant in Elon, Simply Thai is neither the best of Thais nor the worst of Thais though it does fulfill a need for the immediate area. Inside, Simply Thai's décor is minimalist. There's a nice mural along the back wall, but you will otherwise find yourself staring at lots of brick. Though not the most capacious restaurant, there was plenty of available seating at the time of my midday Tuesday visit. At first glance, the menu here seems to hew largely to the tried and true. Pad Thai, curries, basil dishes, and wraps are all present and accounted for. Dig a little deeper, however, and you'll find some pleasant surprises. There are Lao dishes (sausage), Japanese dishes (udon), Vietnamese dishes (pho, which can be had with duck!!), and more. The lunch special menu is more restrictive - four dishes are offered on any given day - but between the regular menu and the sushi menu, there are plenty of options. For my first visit, I went with a panang curry with steak off the lunch menu. The dish was preceded by a veggie spring roll and came out quickly. Simply Thai does not seem to offer levels of spiciness (at least not by default though they may do so upon request), which in my experience, defaults to bland. Thankfully, this proved not to be the case. The peanut sauce had a bit of a kick, and neither steak nor veggies were overcooked. That said, the portion size seemed small for the $10.95 charged, and in depth of flavor, Simply Thai's rendition lagged behind Greensboro's best. Emily did provide excellent service, however. Given that Jamestown proper could always benefit from more dining options, Simply Thai is a welcome addition for those who live and work in the area. Its menu and attentive staff make it an attractive option. However, for those who have access to other Thai nearby, Simply Thai is simply OK. read more

Ok, if you read my reviews for Simply Thai in Jamestown or in Elon, they are glowing. Most importantly, the Jamestown restaurant has kept their standards throughout the pandemic challenges. Since the pandemic, we haven't eaten in, but we do take out fairly regularly. Our last visit was in June and it apparently was the last time I will eat the meal I love, Larb salad. No other Thai restaurant in the area makes it like Simply Thai. Look at my past reviews! Here's the rub- last Thursday my husband said, "Thai tonight?". I of course jumped at it. Without a thought, we knew who we were going to call. SIMPLY THAI! Well I called in and began my order as I started to dream of my Larb salad that I would soon be eating. We ordered the duck with fried rice, shrimp in a blanket, money bags and Larb salad. Then it happened. "Larb salad?", We don't have Larb Salad. We never have had Larb salad here. You must mean our Elon restaurant.",Nope,I mean this restaurant. (see my last review on 7/20). After going around from yes you did to no we didn't. I was convinced to get the lettuce wraps. Well I reluctantly agreed. Now for the review - lettuce wraps comes with ground chicken (cooked like Larb) and a itsy bitsy quarter wedge of iceberg to peel and wrap. Ever use 3 inch iceberg to wrap? Yeah it breaks. So I broke up my lettuce and made my own larb salad from the do it yourself kit. Honestly, it was not as good. The 28.00 duck was ok. My husband thought it tasted like 14.00 pork. Plus, he got brown rice, not fried rice. Money bags and shrimp in a blanket are always good. But for a take out meal of around 58.00, so not worth it. We got the Phoenix roll, drunken noodles and spicy basil fried rice and they were all delicious. The cocktail options were good too! My wife and I love Thai food and trying new restaurants, but were disappointed with our experience. Dining area is small with tiny tables close together, atmosphere is sparse and loud. We were sat within 10 feet of the front door, and exposed to cold air rushing in door when opened. The HVAC vent above our head was alternating cold air and hot. The air constantly blew the entire time we were there, causing us to be extremely uncomfortable and also resulting to our food becoming cold almost instantly. The food itself including desert, was bland but not terrible. The portions were okay but not nearly as large as what we are served at other Thai or Vietnamese restaurants. The prices are excessive, nearly double to what we would expect to pay at comparable restaurants. The prices listed on yelp do not match the menu prices I paid. Wait staff is okay but again not exceptional. This restaurant in my opinion is not terrible....just bad, especially when considering cost. read more

Would've been a 5 until I tasted my wife's salmon fried rice. I was highly displeased with it and wouldn't serve anyone that. The salmon itself was very dry and over cooked. Outside of that my food was pretty good the steak and shrimp fried rice was good and the Thai sampler was decent. The service was very good and we were seated quickly on a Friday and attended to so there is no worries there just the salmon fried rice which In my humble opinion gets a 1/10.....I wouldn't mind coming back at all but just know when I do I will review again.. until next time simply thai read more

We went to Simply Thai tonight to grab dinner, and forgot that it was furniture market. They were slammed. However, they were able to accommodate us, and our experience was much better than anticipated. Even though they must have been overwhelmed because of the extra crowd, every single person we came in contact with was very friendly, had everything under control, was proactive in telling us anything they were running short on (which wasn't much) and kept checking on us. The staff were fantastic the entire time, regardless of how busy they were. And most importantly, the food was delicious! We will definitely be back! read more

Try the excellent PINK SOLDIER GIRL ROLL inside: tempura shrimp, crab salad outside: soy wrap, avocado My displeasure was/is with the delivery service they offer, and I've told them that. They use ChowNow software, which usually hands the actual delivery off to DoorDash...but not Sunday. My order was acknowledged by ChowNow via email, who said I'd get a text from DoorDash....the text never came. I called Simply Thai at 7:15p and was told my order was ready (slowed somewhat by delays on sushi prep). They then called DoorDash, who was clueless-they got nothing from ChowNow. Dasher came with my food at 7:35p. In conclusion, I know stuff happens, but ChowNow's comedy of errors is not good for Simply Thai. The food was ok. The starters / appetisers we chose the chicken satay and the wraps were good. The main food Thai yellow curry with Shrimp with peanut sauce was a bit watered down and nothing to rave about. For dessert we had the popular sweet rice with Mango . The mango was fresh and flavourful. Overall nice but a bit pricey. Portion sizes were just right. 100$ with tips for two for a casual meal. read more
