Delicious food! We have gotten so many good things here. Shrimp with vegetables is wonderful. The shrimp they use is big, fresh...perfect. General Tsao's is delicious. We have tried several other dishes from there and can't wait to try more. We always get plenty of sauce packets when we order carryout or delivery. Haven't eaten in the restaurant yet, but will soon. Our go-to Chinese food restaurant for years was Tenji near Kings Island but in June they moved downtown. Chan's is our new go-to. Will do another review as we try new things. read more

I came here to pick up lunch for a work meeting and was pleasantly surprised how delicious everything was. When you order lunch items they come with chicken on a stick as well (does anyone else start singing Zac Brown Band's Sic Em On a Chicken when you see that phrase?). The staff was very kind and speedy, easily adapting food to be gluten free when needed. While waiting they brought a complimentary coke. This place is under new ownership since 9 months ago. This was our place to order Chinese food and the last 3 times we've eaten here it's not been good. My wife ordered Hunan Chicken and got the mild spicy and it was very hot. I got the garlic chicken and picked medium spicy since i like it hot. But there was so much spice it was overwhelming and not good. My kids had normal dishes that were not spicy and they said they couldn't eat it anymore and they used to love this place. Sadly we will not be going back. We order doughnuts which used to come out perfect every time we ordered here, but now it came out burnt (see pic) read more

The food here used to be so much better. Although not exactly authentic, it was good. Lately processing up a d the food quality just not the same. I always tried to support them because the family seemed so nice and residing the same area. Just like other fast food location, higher prices and food quality declining. I ordered fried dumplings, shrimp fried rice and pork egg roll. The egg roll taste old. The shrimp fried rice had tons of cheap frozen peas and carrots along with tons of onions. Very little actual rice and shrimp. The portion size noticeable different. The fried dumplings do not taste fresh at all. I think this will be my last time coming unfortunately and like other places had the nerve to show a tip screen for carry out. We have been going to Chan's 20+ years and mostly always have a very good experience. Food is good. Customer service is good. last Night worst food I've eaten from there and anywhere else in the last year. It was tasteless, seemed old and it was cold. The lettuce wraps were like cooked ground chicken too salty with a wilted piece of iceberg lettuce, pepper steak beef was so tough You couldn't cut it steak knife. Guess we are done with Chan's. It's been less than good last few times we've been there, but last night was the worst and it's sad thing. it's been so good through the years. I forgot to take pictures, but this was surprisingly good. Located in the strip by Half Price books, I can't believe I haven't tried it before. It is typical American Chinese food, but everything was made really well and tasted great. We ordered take out Kung Pao Chicken, combination MeiFun (favorite of the night), Bourbon Chicken, Happy Family (least favorite), and Chicken on a stick. One mistake away from 5* We came here after watching Halloween Kills and were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere, people, and food. Atmosphere: We ordered takeout but waited inside. We enjoyed the people, the artwork/photos, and the place as whole. Definitely a place you can sit down and enjoy your food with staff that's friendly. We we waited we were given free bottles water by the friendly lady. That honestly made my day as no one gives things free. She has a repeat customer because of that. Food/price: I'll get the negative out of the way: I ordered pepper chicken and was given... I don't even know as it was crossed out on my receipt and menu. Maybe Chicken with black bean sauce? Idk but I was upset when I got home but it tasted goodish. My girlfriend got the Mongolia Beef and LOVED it. We also got chicken on the stick which was the best I ever had, crab rangoon which she liked more than me, and fried rice. And wow, that fried rice was amazing... not your typical takeout rice for sure. Price was reasonable even though they charged me for a speciality dish (pepper chicken). The crab rangoons were perfect bite sizes and the price on them were great. The Chinese donuts were great- sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. I've only ever ordered one thing from here...Sichuan green beans...it came in a ketchup based sauce, similar to general tso's but heavier on the ketchup (which needless to say is just WRONG for so many reasons). I've been on a Sichuan green bean kick lately so have been trying this dish from all the Chinese places near me . So far my fav is from great tang...but you have to ask for it spicy...apparently despite the dish being described as Sichuan and spicy it comes with zero heat unless you specifically ask for it. Yay I am a fan! I took a chance on Chan's and here is what happened: I have low expectation of Chinese and try to avoid Chinese restaurants altogether. I used to o sell food for a wholesaler to restaurants and the things I would see would well keep you away. I took a chance on Chan's. There are 3 parts to a Chinese fast t restaurant. 1.One is the dinning area where the public sits and this area was clean, had a modern up to date look, it wasn't the usual bright lights, Formica style tables, cheap chairs and bad art. It was nice and it was clean. The public area showed they put some thought into how it presented. Nice wood grains plenty of light and not that tired worn out look. Dinning area impacts the enjoyment and they pass with strong performance. 2. The kitchen, is it clean? The iffy part for a Chinese restaurant is the kitchen. Kitchen can be festering cess pools of ewww. I have seen horrible kitchens beyond belief. There is a curtain between the front and the kitchen, but the curtain is see through, in good condition and the kitchen is clean. No excessive clutter, no nasty floors and or work spaces in sight. Big points for that. This is massive plus +++ 3. The food, of course the food. Too many choices so I ended up with beef and peppers, pepper steak and rice, The green pepper and onion was fresh, the beef was good. I've had beef, we all have had beef you chew forever and well ... the produce used in the food preparation was fresh, firm solid, not old or over cooked. The beef was good too. Not rubbery and chewy. It tasted good,i it tasted fresh. My caution on Chinese restaurants still remains, I have seen too much but my enthusiasm for Chan's is real and I will go back. They are located in a hyper competitive area with many food choices, located next to the Kroger store this little place is doing so many things right you must try them out. Perfect for informal dinning that is quick but not fast food. It is so much better. My note to the owners of Chan's you have a very nice restaurant and deserve many customers and hopefully the ability to earn a nice living from your efforts. Tonight we ordered take out and tried Chan's Asian Wok, for the first time. Our order included 3 meals with fairly restrictive dietary requests (one of the reasons our family doesn't typically order out). That being said, when I called to place the order, they were very attentive to our family's needs/ requests and acted like I was their most important customer. A lot of times, it seems like people are annoyed by the requests. Honestly I probably would be if I was taking my order. Ha! This was not the case at all, tonight. The gentleman even made suggestions to help with the order. When reading back the order, he even confirmed the dietary restrictions with me. Upon pickup, the staff was some of the nicest people I've ever met. Again they made me feel very welcome and special like I was some kind of VIP. Ha! The restaurant and take out setup was extremely clean and sanitary and they were all still practicing safe distancing, money handling and food distribution. The woman working thanked me at least a dozen times for ordering, visiting and supporting their business. When we got home, the food was prepared to our requests and all the meals were extremely tasty too! Overall, it was an awesome first experience tonight with Chan's Asian Wok, for our family! I'd love to give this place 4 1/2 but can't quite give it a 5. Across the board the flavors were fantastic, meats were super tender, they were only held back by the freshness of the veggies. We had beef Lo mein which my picky 6 year old loved, combo fried rice that my 2 year old loved and Singapore mei fun which my wife and I agree is as good as we've had anywhere - truly fantastic. For the price we haven't found any Chinese in the area yet that holds a candle to this place. Just wish the veggies were a touch crisper and maybe a little bit more quantity. Small complaint though, we were very pleased and will be back! read more
