My favorite story is when we were taking a walk in Washington DC along the Mall, when a little girl walked up behind him, and her mother asked if it was okay if she pet him. We had no hesitation about allowing it, as he was so gentle and had been raised in a household with my 4 kids. She pulled a tuft of shedding hair from his backside, looked at it in surprise, and then tried to put it back on him. He was healthy most of his life, with no real problems. But he had to be put down in 2019 due to cancer. I'm going back to this business now for my second shepherd, even though I now live multiple hundreds of miles away. That is how much I trust these people and their animals.

However, the dog was much older and despite loving our family, was vicious to strangers and, by the behest of local cops, had to eventually be euthanized after severely biting neighborhood children. They lied about age, trauma and lineage. The toll on my family won't go unnoticed. Since then, we'll only adopt from foster families. Not worth worrying about whether or not some angst ridden caretaker kicked the kennel or physically abused an animal. It's a liability people should examine. Now, I'm the happy human of 2 beautiful and kind dogs adopted from loving families. Im a very protective and research person when making a decision. Olympia Kennels was a word of mouth one and got a lot of positive feedback. I knew immediately when I met Mike and his team it was the place. However I didn't know on day one how amazing this journey would be. To some have multiple pups at the same time most trainers are judgemental and not supportive of this hard journey my family has taken on and we are very capable of. Mike has stood by his word and taken care and taught my family and my pups who are 1.5 years old. They stayed with Mike for 6 weeks at 8months old and taught them a great foundation. He even stood by his word and when we had a minor behavior issue with one of my boys he took him right back and worked with him asap and made immediate room for our need. We will be continuing with Olympia and both our family and dogs learning how to best train and grow together.
