Only after I introduced myself ("Filomena, it's Carla from Chile") did your attitude change. Because my English is limited and your Spanish isn't good either, I made sure to write down and translate exactly what I wanted to say so I could explain it politely: "Hi Mena, I called you but you didn't answer. Since I left work early, I came because I had the time. It's not a big deal, I just don't like my haircut because it's flat and I want layers." At first, even though you only wanted to give me a lesson on how to style my hair, I said yes, I wanted your help. But when you started giving opinions about my face shape and telling me you had already done "many" layers, as if to say I didn't need more, that's when I decided to tell you no -- because it's not up to you to decide whether I like my own hair or not. However, that recovery is solely due to my own strict, dedicated hair care regimen. ​To repair the damage, I had to implement a rigorous routine using fresh aloe spritz with rosemary and peppermint essential oils, drinking fresh fenugreek water, incorporating Caribbean foods, fruits, and spices into my diet, and regularly using my homemade Ayurvedic warm herbal oils on my scalp. I also had to treat folliculitis resulting from the appointment using a diluted basil and oregano essential oil mixture. ​Thankfully, my personal routine kept any long-term damage at bay and my hair is finally thriving again--but no thanks to Jasmine.
