We are staying in the area and decided to take a drive to explore. We came across this small restaurant. Parking is very limited; we had to park in the grass under their sign. The restaurant was full, so we had about a 15-minute wait for lunch on a Monday. We sat in a small room that only had 3 tables. Our server was very sweet. My husband ordered the shrimp linguine and I ordered their cheeseburger. Everything was very tasty. We were looking for a spot between Crestview and Panama City for lunch with friends and this spot looked promising. Definitely an interesting menu with lots of options. We did the taco special, grilled cheese, Cobb salad, and cheeseburger. The tacos were interesting and tasted ok. The cheeseburger wasn't bad. The sweet potato fries were tasty. The Cobb salad was not good, looked way better than it tasted and the grilled cheese was inedible. Overall, the experience wasn't awful, but wasn't worth the hour drive. If you're in the area, maybe give them a try and see what you think. read more

I just finished lunch at Chanticleer, it was my first and last time visiting this place. The sandwich I had fell apart when I picked it up, the shrimp tasted like frozen microwave. The thing that disturbs me the most is the waitress not once came by and asked how was everything. When she delivered the check, crickets. Crab cakes were good, great remoulade sauce. The sauteed crab claws had a good flavor, most sauteed are sitting it butter or a liquid mixture, there were not but still good. Rice that came with crab cakes very flavorful and we don't even a ton of rice. Sweet potato fries were just ok, not crispy. The white chocolate coconut cookies, fried. 2 out 3 of us like the cookie. We found out that is run by the team that runs Local Catch. This made it a must try on our last vacation. The Menu was at the usual pricepoint for all of the 30A seaside/watercolor restaurants. They have a good variety of offerings, but mainly seafood. It offers a Cajun type flavor to things and also with their restaurant style. Our server was awesome and very helpful. I did have the seafood platter with shrimp and catch of the day (Mahi) with their remoulade and fries. Very good, light, crispy , with a hint of spices. The crab cake was very delicious and full of crab meat as well. The restaurant has ample parking around it and it is at the crossroads of the Grayton beach/30A just north of the traffic stop there. Found the staff member I dealt with to be very nice, but I have nothing outstanding to say about the food received from this restaurant except for a list of extra fees. There was a fee for placing an order, a 20% mandatory gratuity fee, and a 3% fee to use a credit card. There was also the limited parking challenge. Definitely wish I had a do-over to spend $50 someplace else. read more

Chanticleer is a "do not miss" restaurant on Santa Rosa island. It's a bit off the beaten path, but don't let that discourage you. If you've ridden the shuttle to the Grayton beach restaurants, the street the restaurant is located on is right across the street. It has an eclectic beach decor and has a lovely outside dining area as well. The service, food and wine selections are EXCELLENT. My wife had the crab cakes, I had the pork chops and both were among the best we've eaten. Our server, Jimmy steered us in the right direction from drinks to entrees to the house made cookies to go. We are just sorry we found this place toward the end of our stay! We'll be back for lunch before we head home! read more

We've vacationed in the area for several years but had not tried this place yet. Today we were driving around looking for a place for lunch on a rainy day. What a hidden gem! Service was friendly and the food was quite good. Nice selection of sandwiches and salads on the lunch menu. I had the chicken salad sandwich and the summer salad, in generously sized 1/2 portions. We also had the turkey avocado sandwich, club sandwich, creamy pasta salad (so good) and broccoli cheddar soup. Everything we ordered was very tasty! Let's start with the ambiance very casual place, on the loud side. Service was good but the food was mediocre. Shrimp po boy was on stale bread with frozen shrimp deep fried. A little disappointing here on the gulf coast. They had a good tomato basil soup and chic salad was ok. Maybe need to try something else next time. read more

First time trying this place and decided to go because of other Yelp reviews ! We got in and we're seated right away. It was quite in the restaurant so we sat in the bar. The bartender was very friendly and came over right away. We got a beer and a blueberry cocktail. Both were served cold and tasted delicious. We got the pulled pork nachos to share. They tasted incredible, until....there were what looked like fruit flies under the whole first layer of nachos. We obviously stopped eating and they quickly took the tray back. This place is off the hook!!! Never been to 30A and are at a few places but this was a great experience. The service was awesome, the food is so good. Had the ruben which was probably top 3 and I am from LA so that is saying a lot. Their sage bread was insane and dip that in the lobster bisque was heavenly. BBQ pulled pork was great, it was all great. Definitely will come back just for the amazing people running the place. Highly recommend! read more
