Here again for our mandatory stop on vacation. Always at least an hour wait for a table (larger group, longer wait ) They were friendly as usual. The service was very quick. When we got there, there was a 30 minute wait which turned to be around 60 for our party of 11. We even asked if we could break up our party to get seated quicker. Once seated , there were lots of open high tops available ! We were seated at a makeshift table in the covered patio area. Our server was really nice and on top of serving our table. Quick serving. If you like fried seafood (fish, crab claws app, shrimp) po boy or fried platter this is their main service. There are salads and gumbo , burger, and a couple other entree dishes. Dessert is available, but we didn't get any this time. Fried Oreos are the usual go to here. This is probably our 5th time coming to this place. Dependable and consistent (especially the waiting time ). Likely be back when we come again in a few years. read more

BLUF: Excellent food in a casual atmosphere. Local Catch has an unassuming building on 30A with an equally casual interior. Although this place has bar vibes, the food is elevated. We landed at Local Catch in search of grouper and we found it! I loved their blackened grouper with beurre blanc sauce, green beans and mashed potatoes. Before diving into the grouper, I shared nachos with the table and they too were surprisingly awesome. Local Catch makes their nachos with home made tortillas and something about how they topped them with pork, lots of cheese, and a little bit of a sweet salsa, madee them memorable. Other items on the seafood and American fare inspired menu include tacos, burgers, po' boys, steaks and salad. If I wasn't craving grouper, it would have been hard to choose. Service was excellent as well. We visited during the busy spring break season and there was plenty of parking in the private lot. In addition to indoor seating, there are also some tables on the front patio. I'd love to return and try many more menu items and my leam with a draft beer or cocktail. read more

I had the 4 mile fish salad, which sounded great but the pico and pineapple salsa both tasted pre-prepared, not made fresh. The fish was good, they could have seasoned it more. Giving it a 3 stars because the others in my party enjoyed their meals. Personally I would skip it. read more

Sadly their frozen drink machine was broken so we missed out on that but the fish tacos were really good. We came in on a rainy day with a group of 25. Local Catch made an excellent effort to take care of all our needs. Our service was amazing, Jessica (388), done a fantastic job of taking care of us. We had so many varieties of choices with meals we decided upon and not a single person in our group had a bad thing to say. The highlights were the Shrimp Scampi, the crab cakes, the variety of taco choices, the grouper, the fish and chips, salads, the choices keep going. If I have 1 knock, it would be the portion sizes of the protein on some meals. Thought for the dollar amount asking for meal, maybe have a little more available. We sat for a good while before someone told the server he had been given a table. He was bussing the table next to us and stopped to come take our drink order. When he brought our drinks, he sat our waters down by holding the cup rims after I noticed him scratching his face. We tried Local Catch and had a pretty mixed experience. Walking in was a bit odd -- you sort of just round a few corners and hope you're in the right place. Food was okay but underwhelming for the price. The poke nachos were soggy from too much soy sauce, and the tacos had so much slaw they were cold. Drinks were fine, but $50 for three cocktails felt steep. Our tab for soggy nachos and slaw-heavy tacos wasn't great value -- especially with a credit card fee added on. For no reason we haven't been there in months. Last Friday we passed a lot of very busy restaurants to go to Local Catch. There were maybe 10 people eating and about 5 employees. This drew a red flag. We noticed prices were increased to the rediculous. $28.00 for 3 fish tacos and $24.00 for a Cobb salad. Both roughly $6 - 7.00 more than any other restaurant. But to top it off, they charged me $2.50 for ICE!!!! It's going to be a while before we go back. No wonder they weren't busy. read more

I have been raving about this place and am shocked to see such a low rating. Had the mahi tacos and they were EXCELLENT, make sure to ask for extra sauce. The white sauce is incredible and the fish was so fresh. I had the cucumber cocktail and it was the best drink I had in 30A. Very refreshing and flavorful. Local Catch is a great little unique restaurant in 30A that gets you off the beaten path and some delicious seafood! We came as a group of 4 and got seated immediately. We all ordered some beers and then got our entrees For the main, I chose the fish po boy with fries. Someone else got the tacos with sweet potato fries and then some more tacos with sautéed spinach. I have to admit, every single one of our entrees and our fries were really good! The sautéed spinach was garlicy and delicious and each of the fries were crispy and the seafood was unbelievably fresh. Service was great too! All in all no complaints to be had and a solid dinner choice for some chill vibes and delicious food. Would definitely come back and try some more options! What is so special about Florida? Some might say seafood, which is unquestionably excellent. Others could point to the lack of political correctness and the general "don't give a damn" attitude of the state. But, while those things are certainly true, it is actually the air of the sea, infused into the atmosphere with some of the kindest, most relaxed people that makes Florida a personal favorite. But, while reading all this nonsense, you actually got distracted from the main event: at Local Catch it's late afternoon on a Sunday and the band is about to play. Good thing that most folks here have retired, so Sunday is just as perfect as any other day to grab a cold one and ring in the new week with some top notch seafood. Despite being highly casual, it isn't unusual to spot some fun cars in the lot too, such as a new Bentley, Rolls or an Aston Martin. All dishes here are wonderful: the grouper, the tacos, the nachos. It's all the best basics that one could ask for. 30A blonde is served as a side, so it is time to relax a bit and don't let the bottle get too warm in hand. The only thing that would make the atmosphere a bit better is having some 30A, or a local lager of draft instead of an IPA. The patio is cozy with bamboo greenery clearly planted to isolate it from other structures. Folks working here are always extremely kind and attentive. Thus, it's just a no whining type of establishment. When everything in life just feels good, you are unquestionably in Florida and probably heading to Local Catch. read more

Well, it was interesting! We went to listen to Forest Williams. The woman bartender was nice! But another customer struck up a conversation with us. It got cruder and cruder. Finally she asked a political question, and I gave her an honest answer nicely, without fanfare. When I did not agree with her ultra liberal answer, she said F you to me. Everyone told us we had to try this place when we were in town. We went for dinner one night and the wait was almost two hours long. After finally getting a table we waited another 30 minutes before a server came and greeted us. I can't remember his name but he was rude and seemed to really hate his job. We ordered the wontons as an appetizer (which are almost $20) and received 5 flat greasy, chewy...things. We received our meals over an hour after we ordered them and sadly the food wasn't any better. I ordered tacos that had almost no seasoning on them that were just piled high with tomatoes. And the dirty rice that came with them was interesting. It almost tasted like hot dogs. Everyone's food was cold, bland and overpriced. On top of all of that. When they seated us the host was supposed to come back with another chair so my husband could sit at the end of the table because we were one chair short. He ended up standing for the majority of the time we were there despite asking our server multiple times for a chair. Finally my husband went and found his own chair. Not sure what the hype is about this place but it definitely wasn't worth the wait or the price. read more

I was thoroughly impressed with this place! We walked in at a funky time-- late for lunch, really early for dinner-- and we happened to catch most folks at shift change. The only thing I found rather annoying was no one wanted to wait on us until a gentleman had JUST clocked in and asked a server if we'd been helped. She shrugged us off and said, "That's so-and-so's table..." He immediately walked over to wait on us, and I'm glad he did. He was knowledgeable, courteous, on top of things in terms of timing and refilling drinks, and because he stepped up I wanted to make sure he's acknowledged (even if I can't remember his name). He is a handsome gentleman with salt & pepper hair! Anyway, we started off with fried crab claws, and I ordered the Caribbean shrimp tacos while Husband tried their blackened chicken dish. Everything we ate was stellar! The tacos were filled to the tortillas' edge so they weren't easy to pick up to eat, and when I did manage to get this done I wore much of the sauce and slaw on my hands. Ha!
