If I could, I'd give The Red Bar 4.5 stars. The atmosphere alone makes this place worth a visit. The red lights, live music, and unique décor create such a fun, laid-back vibe that really adds to the dining experience. The food was excellent, and you can truly tell that everything is made fresh and homemade. I had the crab cakes, which were full of flavor, and the meal came with a warm roll, a fresh salad with their delicious house dressing, and creamy mashed potatoes. Everything on the plate was fantastic. The smoked tuna dip was also surprisingly good. I've never liked tuna before, but I kept going back for more--it completely changed my mind! The chicken tenders and fries tasted homemade, and the chicken panini was dressed with the perfect amount of sauce and was absolutely delicious. The service was fast, friendly, and attentive from start to finish, and the live music made the whole experience even more enjoyable. My only reason for giving 4.5 stars instead of 5 is that while everything was great, there was just a small something keeping it from being absolutely perfect. We've been to The Red Bar several times over the years, and our latest visit reminded us why we keep coming back. Every experience has been consistently outstanding. The menu is relatively small, but everything we ordered was exceptional. The stuffed eggplant was absolutely delicious, the blackened grouper was cooked perfectly, and my daughter loved her pasta dish. Be sure to save room for a slice of the homemade key lime pie--it was the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. The atmosphere is one of a kind. The red lighting, eclectic vintage artwork, and laid-back beach vibe make it such a fun place to spend an evening. They also had a live band playing a great mix of blues and classic hits. The music added to the ambiance without being so loud that we couldn't easily carry on a conversation, which we really appreciated. Second time in, must see place when visiting the area! Cool quaint place, bustling with people who want great food. Let me just say, it's worth the wait. No reservations;/ Parking is down the road, and there is a shuttle to bring you to the restaurant. We both got the Grouper Special on a grit cake with sautéed spinach, the fish perfectly cooked and that grit cake was to die for! Loved the crunchy edges and soft grit center, yummy! We split a piece of Key Lime pie for dessert which I'm glad we did, it was a large piece, definitely shareable. Good graham cracker crust, nice lime filling, not too tart, just right! The Red Bar at Grayton Beach has a great atmosphere, and delicious food as always. Since we could sit at the bar, the hour wait went by a little faster. We also chose to take a table in the bar because social media showed a DJ for that Friday night, but sadly that wasn't the case. The servings of manicotti and blackened grouper were generous and consistent, which is great because we look forward to our meals there. The last few times we have felt rushed with the bill being left at the table while we are still eating. The shuttle parking is a great way to avoid endless searching for parking near the restaurant but be mindful of the required fee to park. Booked a reservation due to an announcement for a "new menu". Turns out the menu was still the same. We had the Penne Chicken, Shrimp & Crawfish, Crab Cakes, and the Blackened Grouper. Most came with a house salad and bread. Fish was cooked well and hearty portions were served. The menu isn't extensive, so be prepared to choose from the five items listed. The back room was very loud with parties seemingly yelling at each other across the table and for the whole restaurant to hear as well. We attempted to get drinks at the bar prior to sitting, impossible to get through on a Friday night, but our waitress got our orders in and served quickly once we were sitting. Note: this is very much a dive bar scene where the booths were covered with duct tape to keep together and other booths appearing to be reused airplane seats of some sort. read more

stopped by after soaking up the sun and we had such a great time at the red bar. such a cozy and welcoming environment. we were seated quickly and was able to get outdoor seating. we got mozzarella sticks for appetizer and those were as good as you'd hope it to be. for mains, i got the mahi mahi grilled fish sandwich and chicken tenders and fries. the fish was simply grilled and was delicious. had the option to be blackened which i should've got but the simplicity of the grilled fish was still delicious. tenders were very crispy and juicy. overall, had a great time and this is a great spot to grab some drinks or to get a meal in after spending hours on the beach. our service was great and the staff were kind and professional. read more

I cannot believe this is the first review I've written for The Red Bar. The Red Bar isn't just a restaurant you "try." It's a place you return to. Over and over. It's the dim lights, the walls covered in art, the music that makes you stay longer than you planned. And the food? Always worth it. Always memorable. Some places are good. Some places are trendy. The Red Bar is a tradition. If you've been, you already understand. If you haven't -- go experience it for yourself. Just don't wait as long as I did to write about it. We went last night and overall the experience was great, as usual. The Red Bar continues to be one of our go-to spots. My friend ordered the chicken dish and loved it (she's had it before and it never disappoints). I ordered the tuna dip and a salad -- both were delicious and exactly what I was hoping for. Fresh, flavorful, and perfectly done. I was sad to miss out on the crab cakes this time, but that just gives me a reason to come back. The only downsides: our waitress didn't mention that it would have been less expensive to pay in cash and my top-shelf margarita just wasn't great. For a place that does so many things well, that cocktail missed the mark. Overall, still a strong experience and a place we'll absolutely return. Such a great spot and well worth the wait! It was very crowded, even late on a Wednesday night. We added our name to the wait list and waited at the bar. I tried one of their cucumber martinis and one of their fresh squeezed margs. Both were just okay. The marg in particular was poorly balanced, and I was unable to finish it. I wouldn't recommend that one. My husband got a beer, and it was served completely flat. Kind of odd. He didn't finish this either. Once seated, we had a great server! He was attentive and helpful. We got the fish dip to start. OMG this was crazy good!!! I couldn't stop repeating how great it was. Highly recommend this. It had a kick to it, which I loved and was not expecting. There were five of us squished in a small booth and it was very busy, of course because it is such a good restaurant in a popular location. We really enjoyed the food, but our service was kind of slow at times. We got our food before we ever got our drinks. In addition, our servers pen exploded on him which also happened to get on my friend, of course it was all an accident, but just very unfortunate. It was very busy, but the staff definitely tried to get us seated as soon as possible. Since it was summer, there were definitely a lot of bachelorette parties and things like that. Overall, we had a fairly good experience, it just is a little more hectic on a Saturday night. We were staying in one of the apartments above the Zoo Gallery and the gallery owner recommended The Red Bar and we are so glad we listened. Just walking by we could feel the fun, welcoming energy. The eclectic decor, cozy lighting and upbeat atmosphere drew us in right away. We went in on a Monday around 5 and despite it being pretty packed we were seated right away. The vibe inside is quirky, clean and inviting. Definitely a place with personality. Our server was awesome and it was fun seeing them bring a huge poster sized menu to the table. The menu is small, but everyone in our party found something they were looking forward to trying. My husband and I started with margaritas. They were freshly squeezed and super refreshing. For dinner, I had the Grouper Special: blackened grouper served over a bacon cheddar grit cake with a side salad. It was phenomenal! I would come back to Grayton Beach for that dish alone. Our daughter had the Shrimp and Crayfish. She couldn't stop raving about it. My husband had the Mahi with citrus beurre blanc. It was flaky, flavorful and cooked to perfection. This place has it all. Yesterday we couldn't find a spot to park but the Chiringon had a spot so we had lunch there BUT we had to come back and try again the Red Bar and omg no regrets this place has it all Ordered the Poboy and I am no kidding there is enough food for two finicky eaters or one hungry dude My only complaint is that the chlorine that they serve has some water in it but it is not their fault but the City of Grayton proper, horrible water but ended up ordering beers for both Service was excellent, not very many people at 1:30 so it worked out very well. Experience just getting there! Was told ahead of time to take the "tram" as there is no parking at the restaurant. Arrived by 4pm, promptly greeted by friendly staff & seated on a patio outside as requested (party of 6 adults + 2 kids). As we walked thru the restaurant, very collective vibe, candles on the tables, loud, happening place, band was setting up to play. Plenty of beautiful outdoor waiting seating area & gift shop. Happy to be seated on the patio in the open air, only a drink menu with a few appetizers given. That's strange! No true food menu? Then waitress brings a chalkboard with the menu of 4-5 options... that's it! Thank goodness there were kid options available, that she verbally told us. Orders given. We wait. And wait. And wait. Shouldn't be hard... there's only like 5 various & variations of those meals (fried/blackened/grilled) being served from the menu, most of the apps aren't made in house, come frozen. Yet, we wait. Still waiting with 2 toddlers. Finally the apps come, wait even longer for meal... Adult meals were "good" or "ok", pasta was just blah, nothing special, seafood was the WINNER! We had to actually ask for our check, toddlers are absolutely melting, adults are starting to throw tantrums after being seated for nearly 2 hours... Went to The Red Bar last night for a bachelorette dinner and it did not disappoint. They didn't take reservations but we only waited around 30 minutes for a group of 12. They sat us outside all together. Inside they had live music and a super fun environment. Our waiter even let us take pictures on the beach after we sat down, which is walking distance from the restaurant. Our crew also takes food super seriously and The Red Bar really came through. Ok, I love this place because of the cool vibe and food. I have been coming here over 20 years or more, even when the clear shower curtain was on the Lady's Bathroom door! If you decide to come here they do not take reservations. But they now take Credit Cards! Ok, this is hard for me to say. This is first time that I was not impressed with something here... I had 2 different types of Margaritas and both were terrible, they looked good but they were very bad tasting. Louis, you need to invest in new bar tenders or train them more. On to the food! Glad they still use the chalkboard! I started off with a cup of Gumbo, great Cajun Flavor, maybe the best in the area!!! For an Entree I got the Shrimp and Crawfish pasta, amazing!!!! As we ate we listened to a guy play his guitar and sing, he was actually on the Voice! He was great! I hope when I come back they have better drinks, it is the Red Bar! For now they are a 4 Star. Annual trip to Seaside and of course, you have to spend a minimum of one night at the Red Bar. Wonderful as usual, started with the pizza bread and had forgotten how great it was. Two of us had the grouper and it was a huge portion with a potato cake and salad. Absolutely fantastic. One had manicotti and the other had chicken piccata, both absolutely perfect. My group of 7 old university friends had a great time and wonderful food from bowls of gumbo to shrimp and grits. My shrimp plate was very, very good and a huge serving. I had a delightful dinner recently at Red Door Cafe. Parked at the shuttle parking area down the street and enjoyed the ride in on the shuttle bus. The drinks were well made and refreshing. For dinner I had the baked eggplant stuffed with shrimp and scallops it was incredibly delicious. The staff couldn't have been nicer, super attentive without hovering. Total gem- can't wait to go back. Note: the place gets very crowded, parking can be difficult if you try to park around the building, go to the off sight parking down the street.
