not worth coming here for piercings. didn't even do the actual piercing right and put in the most comically large jewelry after that wouldn't heal with anyone and isn't made for fresh piercings. I did not get to choose the jewelry (3rd lobe piercings on each side in pic) i had to get them taken out and treat for infection not even 2 days later. so clearly not sanitized correctly either... i wasn't offered any aftercare instructions or products because "i already have piercings"... waste of a $100. which is also ridiculous for a piercing. they advertised the piercing as $60 but insisted it was $100 and was only allowed to pay cash so can't show proof of purchase. did not return as was leaving for a flight that night. this isn't just a bad product that didn't work. these are people's bodies you are working on. read more

My girl and I walked in on my lunch break. Shop was low key and clean. We were immediately met at the door by Butters and JD (and some cute lil papa named Luca) . Warm energy right off top. I'm from the bay and they reminded me of that energy so all my preconceived notions of what this tattoo shop could be started to melt away . They were Cool calm and collected. I came in for a lip piercing. We did my paper work, I sat, he poked. First poke, I felt it was a little off centered. We got a few opinions but after a quick second JD allowed me to mark my own entry point and he stuck me again. I'm particular af so him doing this and not being weird about it was everything for me. I'm an artist, and I'm sensitive bout my sh*t ;) Anywho, Second time was perfect. Being poked twice sounds bad but He was swift with it each time yet not rushed and kept a warm calm vibe all the way through. As a POC I've had many bad experiences at tattoo shops before and this was in no way one of them. I'm very happy. Will be back in a few weeks for my hoop and a piercing on the top. read more

I knew what I wanted already, and so he printed a couple of sizes of the design for me. I was super comfortable and the vibes were nice. I probably spent about an hour or less in the shop. This place is not only unprofessional but they ask customers for the Id's and forget to give it right back and when customers forget it lol it is supposed to be the customer's fault? Disrespect them over the phone then turn it around on the customers. This is why they beg people to put reviews and want to call people ungrateful you should be grateful you got the business through the people. Definitely reported this business to Better Business bureau and will also to yelp for harassment messaging customers. So pathetic that they can't take reviews when a person puts one on they go messaging them a storm and call them names. yet they call themselves business owners please save yourself some shame. Just give it a few mins the owner will comment on by defending the bs. This is the worst tattoo place I've ever been to didn't clean my needles Tatto is all infected DO NOT RECOMMEND

This is unfortunately one of the most unprofessional and UNCLEAN establishments I have ever been to. First of all, the owner of the shop sized up a few pieces for me that I wanted, and then after me explaining that I wanted a smaller one (very kindly) he said it was not possible... Uh OK... so I should've just went with my intuition and walked out. Anyways, as he was tattooing me he was not 100 percent focused because he was yelling at his employees to go grab him whatever he needed from some tattoo supply store. So the experience overall was nerve wrecking, due to the fact that he was already pissed off at his employees who also looked stoned out of their minds sitting there like zombies. Now I have a piece that is blown out because he applied too much pressure with his machine, and the line work is atrocious. I had to go across the street to generation8 A REAL PROFESSIONAL TATTOO ESTABLISHMENT, to get my BOTCHED piece touched up. Not to Mention 4 weeks after I got my piece, I wanted to give this guy Turk the owner the benefit of the doubt and touch up my piece for me, but once his son picked up the phone when I called to schedule a touch up appt, he was rude as well, and unprofessional. I was asking questions about why my piece looked the way that it did, and that there were issues because my skin looked irritated, his son just replies "uhhhhhh idk bro, he's busy tattooing right now". I hope this place gets some Serious inspection. Horrible experience. 0 out of 10. And I'm not even a hater. I'm a humble human being that just wants quality respectful service. These guys really deserve this review. No one should come in to a place feeling like they are unwelcome. Especially to tattoo shop. read more

I was looking for a local tattoo shop and found chaotic tattoos on Melrose. Online it stated it was the first black owned tattoo shop on melrose but walking in I couldn't tell it was black owned ( not that it matters). Anyways , the vibes in the place is a little off and rowdy. It was more on the dark side walking in. ( they like to address theirselves as a cult but who am I to judge). The tattoo pricing was ridiculously higher being that we're going into a recession and their work is rudimentary. I personally wouldn't recommend this place but if you like cults and high priced tattoos on the dark side this place is for you. read more

As a local I was looking for a tattoo shop I haven't already received services from on melrose. While walking down melrose I saw Chaotic Tattoos on Melrose, it looked appealing on the outside. I read the reviews before entering. Once I walked into the shop it was a disappointment. The gentlemen at the front desk said unsettling and non flattering comments. I noticed that many people who wrote reviews were just hanging out at the shop which makes me question the reputation of this business. The atmosphere wasn't the best. This is why it's important that potential and actual client reviews should be allowed. I don't recommend this tattoo shop, it's a unprofessional environment. read more

I visited from Georgia in June and decided to get a tattoo on melrose due to it being a go to spot in Los Angeles. After walking down Melrose I noticed chaotic tattoos. To me it seems like a culture vulture shop. Its advertised as black ownled but the only black people who works there is the two owners. The appearance on the outside is beautiful however on the inside it was a different story. I was asked by Turk , one of the owners , if I would like to buy THC vapes. I suppose it has its own little dispensary in the inside ( Not sure if that's even legal). Turk also quoted me $400 on a tattoo of a butterfly with a name. ( it's very over priced) but offered a discount if I would give him my phone number and go out with him to club in Hollywood Blvd that night. I'm not sure what to make of this place. Long story short I ended up going down a few blocks for my tatoo. I personally wouldn't go to chaotic tattoos for any service , that place caught me by surprise. read more
