I came to Mid Town in February with a broken heart, itching to get a tattoo as a little retail therapy. Tom threw a clean rose on my hand in under 30 minutes. The guy must have lightning in his veins. I came back a few months later and met Mario. He pinned the most beautiful Lady of Guadalupe on my left arm and, then I was hooked. I've frequented Mid Town quite a few times this year, letting Mario tattoo my chest, stomach, and arms. All of which are just as beautiful as the last. Mario doesn't miss. I can't recommend this shop enough. Everyone who works here is a heavy hitter but, you can already tell that by their art. The best part is that they're also exceptionally kind people. I've never felt so welcomed in a shop. As my younger sister would say: "the vibe is just right." So, F**K AROUND AND FIND OUT.

Walked in with my boyfriend because I love tattoos and have been itching for one for over a year now. Figured we'd get one before we can't again. Went in on a Sunday and we were the only ones there and it was actually super nice and chill that way. Jake did both our tattoos, I got a monarch butterfly and the bf got his year in Old English font. I'm going in on Saturday with Jose and I'm super excited! Can't wait to see what I get next. 10/10 recommend and it was the easiest tat I've gotten (first for bf and my 4th - both on the lower scale of pain)

I've know Duncan for 8 years and never have I ever been disappointed in his work or attitude. Im a tiny girl and Duncan is a big guy and literally i have never met someone more gentle than him when it comes to tattooing or life in general. I've always felt comfortable around him and he really does a fantastic job of making a foreign space feel like home. I also have sent LOADS of people his way and never have they returned to me with a negative review.He's done more than half of my tattoos and I have had the hardest time having someone new tattoo me. I will definitely be saving up for my next trip to LA to get dunkified.

Best place to get a tattoo in Los Angeles. Belinda did my tat Saturday evening. She's awesome!!!! Amazing!!! She took my design and made it more than what I expected. "F**K AROUND AND FIND OUT?" I recall seeing this on the walls as I was getting tattooed. Little did I know, the only thing I was going to find out was that I was going to be sexually assaulted by Duncan, one of the artists here. What I thought was a normal tattoo session turned out to be a huge regret. The last memory you want to have associated with a tattoo, is the artist assaulting and disrespecting you, it is a horrible feeling. If tattoos (their memories) is something you value, avoid going to an abusive perpetrator. There are plenty of other tattoo artists that will let you walk away with what you paid for instead of turning the tattoo into a traumatic memory. read more

I have been coming to Midtown to get tattoos from Duncan and he is an absolute gem. He actually gave me my first tattoo about 7 yrs ago. It's on my wrist with fine lines and it's my favorite tattoo that is holding up the best. I have 3 tattoos by him now and after experiencing other shops and artists in LA, I only will go to Midtown to see Duncan and that's a fact. I always get complimented on the fine line work that he has done. His attn to detail is unmatched, he's an overall talented artist, personable, honest, hilarious, and has become a dear friend of mine. Above all, the vibe at Midtown is so laidback, you guys - I mean there really isn't a shop like this in LA anymore. Everyone here is exceptional at what they do and it's the chillest shop in LA, on god. No pretentious bs and the people are as real as they get. read more

I only get my tattoos here. Emilio, Jose, Albert, Kane, Mickey, and basically all the artists here are great! Each artist has their individual style that they tattoo. I have never had a bad experience here they always provide me with great service. The aesthetic of the shop is also tight with rare decorative pieces throughout the shop. This shop is also located in Midcity which is in the middle of LA which makes it very convenient. The art on my left arm are by Emilio and Jose. Shoutout to them! THEO IS AMAZING! I moved to LA a few years ago from Austin, TX and it took a while to find the right tattoo artist to finish up my sleeve. I FOUND MY PERSON. He is professional, kind, passionate about his craft, and efficient. His consultation was thorough and collaborative. And I ended up with an amazing tattoo to fill an odd shaped gap between previous pieces. Theo is an artist. I'm so glad I stopped one dude in Trader Joe's because I liked his tattoos. I cannot be happy with my tattoo. Emilio just finished it and it's in remembrance for my ex who passed away from a cancer - multiple myeloma. He got the cancer ribbon color perfect. Don't let this area fool you. This shop is probably one of the best in LA. I got tattooed by Troy and he did not disappoint. This place is my favorite spot in Los Angeles to get any type of tattoo. I have been tattooed by Jose, Emilio and a guest artist named Matt Prado. I can honestly say I have had great experiences at Midtown and even better than that, great tattoos from all my visits! They have all healed perfectly. The artist who work there are timely and professional, always willing to go through any questions we may have as clients. They are so great at bringing your idea to life. Super easy to bounce ideas off of and just friendly as a whole. They pay attention to those that come in with questions and don't give first timers a hard time. Mad love for everyone at midtown! Love this tattoo shop. The two artists I've worked with are Duncan and Belinda. Duncan has been my tattoo artist for several years. He did my entire right sleeve with original work and creative and seamless cover ups. Now we're working on my left sleeve. He's done a few on my legs and chest too. There's so much I could say I don't know where to start. I first saw his art on a friend and I loved it so much and she had a lot of good things to say about him, so I reached out to get a tattoo. He's really earned my trust over the years with his talent, vision, creativity, careful attention to details, honesty, and thoughtfulness. He actually cares about the outcome, does research, offers his opinion if you want it, doesn't rush the process, and is eager to create and do new things. I like his style but he's not limited to just one way of drawing, which is cool. We've done various kinds of pieces. I'll post a few of them here. I've had two flower tattoos in the last year done by him and Out of all the tattoos on my body they are by far my favorites. I get compliments constantly. I've known Duncan Lemmon for 7 years both personally and professionally. Duncan has been tattooing me for years and has also been a close personal friend. Not only is he an amazing tattooer but he's been a safe male figure in my life since I was in my early 20s. I have been tattooed all over my body by Duncan my in sessions lasting up to 8 hours and not once has he ever made me feel anything but safe. I purposefully go to only duncan when I want these kinds of tattoos because of how safe I feel with him. I know tons of women who are close friends of mine who have also been tattooed by him and had the same experience as me. If you're looking for a great tattoo in a proper street shop I can't think of anywhere better in Los Angeles than Midtown. From the flash on the walls to a custom design, there is someone in the shop that can get it done. These guys know tattooing and they can do all styles from fine line to bold traditional. Theres also a constant rotation of tattooers from around the world doing guest spots so you can always find a reason to go back. Highly recommended read more

It's on the healing stage, but you can tell that the corner line differs and there is a smudged area on both tattoos. For both these it was $240 total and done by Chris. I will update this review once the tattoos heal completely.

This meant the world to me. After that, I was scheduled to have a tattoo with her again, and I needed to cancel bc I ended up having emergency back surgery. She was, again, so kind, loving, understanding and supportive. I have since come in and gotten quite a few more tattoos with her and for the first time in so long, my body feels like my own again and I am excited to look down and see my beautiful tattoos done by her. He wanted double bands around his forearm and Sam was able to sketch it out and do the tattoo on the same day. We were in and out within 1.5 hours. He explained the process and aftercare which made getting a tattoo seamless and less daunting. I was on the fence about getting a tattoo but my friend said if he got one I would have to get one too. I decided to get a runner with an ekg as I thought it was fitting for me. I wanted something small for my first tattoo and easily to keep hidden from my mom (sorry mom). He asked me to send him a picture of what I wanted and scheduled an appointment for Monday at 11am. Once Monday came I walked over and signed the consent form. He then printed out the tattoo and placed the outline on my chest and asked me if it was where I wanted it. Being a tattoo noob I trusted his judgement. After letting the outline dry I laid down and he began working on the piece. He said since it was a small tattoo and mainly lines there shouldn't be much pain and the healing process wouldn't be as long. It took about 30 mins to finish up the tattoo and the quality came out amazing. There was no pain at all and he went over the aftercare as well. I showed Sam this other tattoo I wanted and he said he would be able to do that as well. He says his art style is realism and anime so I can't wait to get more work done by him. He has been tattooing for 2 years now along with his apprenticeship. He told me to message him when I'm ready for my next piece. Maybe this tattoo thing is an addiction and will keep you coming back for more.

I have been hankering for a pedicure for a while, and not just any pedicure. I wanted something…read moremore therapeutic. My feet have been through it the last couple of years (sports) and I wanted to get serious about caring for them properly, not just getting them painted. Of course, I turned to Yelp for the scoop and zeroed in on Ms. Glen's Therapeutic Manicures & Pedicures. I finally got a chance to go see Ms. Glen and it was everything I wanted and more. It was relaxing (I fell asleep)! It was restorative! My feet felt and looked healthy and cared for. I didn't get polished which is great because I have been wanting to go natural for a while to let my nails breathe and focus on what's really happening with my toe nail health. So may things I loved (in no particular order): - Very communicative from the appointment (via phone) to the confirmation and directions (via text) - Ms. Glen greeted me at the door - The studio smells divine (really sets the tranquil mood) - The studio was intimate (just me - yay) - The space was very clean (I am a stickler for clean) - There was a complimentary water waiting on me - Ms. Glen has developed her own techniques and products which speaks to her dedication and specialization (I love people who are passionate about what they do!) - Every step of the treatment was appreciated! (very detailed, very attentive, think - pampering your feet from the in-depth massage to the parrafin to the soaks to the grooming and much much more) - I got socks! This was such a special and much needed last step that I never knew I needed. It made my feet more comfortable and protected after such a beautiful treatment. She even asked me my size. How's that for customer service! - Now this one may seem trivial but I never had to hold my feet up during the treatment unless I was transitioning from the bowl to a towel. I do not like having to do that while someone attends to the bottom of my feel or heels. Ms. Glen has it worked out where I can truly relax the whole time. I also left with one of Ms. Glen's therapeutic hand and foot oils in Lemon. She makes the oils herself! It smells so good and leaves a refreshing but not overpowering scent. It feels good oiling my feet every night. Like another reviewer said, this is not your run of the mill pedicure shop. This is a therapeutic service that is worth every penny. My goal is to make this a regular treatment. If my feet are healthy, I am healthier! Thanks Ms. Glen for such a wonderful experience! I'll be back. And thanks again for the massage therapist recommendation. Rest and recovery, here I come!

If your feet are in need of TLC, renewal and restoration, Ms. Glen has a carefully curated service that will leave your feet feeling brand new. I had recently purchased a soap that helps with skin discoloration. It hasn't been making any improvement in the uneven skin tone and dark marks on my feet. Turns out I just needed an appointment with Ms. Glen. The exfoliation she provided literally rubbed away 15 years from my feet. My dry scratchy heels were left supple and smooth and the calloused areas were left soft. Had I known what I was in store for I would have taken before and after pictures. She even provided socks for me to leave in, to seal in the moisture. My favorite part hands down was the massage. She kneaded into these tired soles, and I needed that! I paid a little more than the price listed (which she does quote as a base price) but she also spent almost 2x the amount of time listed. My Fiancé noticed the difference in appearance and feel immediately. I intentionally waited until 24 hours+ had passed to write this review, wanting to see if my feet would feel just as nice. THEY DO!! Ms. Glen definitely puts pride in her work and I love how she checked in throughout the process to ensure I was satisfied along the way. I recommend her service to anyone looking to give their feet a more youthful feel and look. And if your feet have severe issues that might keep you from visiting open public salons, her private suite will help you feel comfortable and secure. Right before I left, Ms. Glen threw in a bottle of her therapeutic hand & foot oil once she saw how dry my hands were. I had discussed my upcoming nuptials with her and she wanted to make sure my hands moisturized properly for my big day, even providing a demonstration on proper application. Ms. Glen is a gem!

I was told the card on file couldn't be used for the service--only for late fees or no-shows--which made no sense. If the salon can charge the card for penalties, why not for the actual service being provided? This was especially frustrating because the appointment was a gift for a huge accomplishment of mine, from my mother, so of course I didn't have the physical card with me. On top of that I was also charged extra for nail length without warning, and billed twice for polish: $20 for gel color and $15 for French tip, even though I only received 1 design; french tip. When I asked for clarification, staff just pointed to the online pricing--but I booked in person to avoid that confusion. The experience felt misleading. I intentionally came in person to avoid confusion and relied on the staff to guide me accurately. Unfortunately, that did not happen. I would not recommend this salon to anyone. If you're considering booking here, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere for more transparent and customer-friendly service.

My first experience there with Jake was honestly the best thing that ever happened to me...I recently had to put my dog down of 15 years just a week ago and I've never endured as much grief, anguish and sadness as much I have in my small 25 years of life on this Earth...we were attached at the hip except for maybe 2 hours out of the day. He was my whole entire world...and Jake helped me cope with his insane tattooing skills by capturing the likeness of his essence...By far the most impressive, professional and down-to-Earth artist I've had the honor of meeting......When I sent him an email about my current situation and distress...within an hour he called me back and that same night we had a consult...SAME NIGHT YOU GUYS...I can't even begin to explain how much of a rock star he made me feel...Oh man...great and humble tattoo artists in LA are so hard to come by...not to mention he is THE man to go to for dog portraits...(his specialty and favorite is dog portraits and fur, so go bug him about it!) his enthusiasm and excitement for drawing dog fur and his expertise in realism is just so comforting and pretty impressive. I love this shop. Went in to get tattooed by Jose, and I couldn't be happier with my tattoo and the overall experience. Not only will I be getting a lot more from him, but I plan to get tattooed by all the guys at Midtown. They're all top of the line tattooers, and their styles range from bold traditional to perfectly executed fine line tattoos. It's an incredibly clean and well put together shop, with a great collection of flash on the walls, great music playing, and it's a real tattoo shop and not this frilly private studio with cucumber water dispenser bullshit that's so prevalent in LA. I love this tattoo shop great staff! I've been here a few times and have gotten work by the incredible tattoo artist Jose. He is extremely talented and it shows in his clean work!
