well I didn't get the opportunity to even go in, I am disappointed in their internet sales people, Christi Val was who "helped" me. They set appointments for you without confirming and basically harass you. So I doubt their offers are what they portray them to be. I would make sure to double check your contracts. Oh also the scare tactics are hilarious, get in before tariffs take effect. When it's brought to attention they don't care. You're just another number on their list. But sounds like they have a team of people that work solely to get bad reviews removed and didn't seem concerned I would be leaving a review. I entered the dealership fully explaining the dilemma I was facing: I needed a vehicle capable of towing a sailboat. I had read online that the Kona could tow up to 5,000 pounds, and the salespeople at both dealerships confirmed this capacity. I even test drove the vehicle twice to ensure it was a good fit. Long story short, I purchased the Kona. The Sales Manager provided a printout from U-Haul detailing what I needed to install a tow hitch and also gave me a $500 discount to offset my costs. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I was happy to switch to Hyundai for the first time. However, the next day when I started contacting various U-Haul locations to arrange the installation of the tow kit, I was informed that they do not make a tow hitch for Konas. Needing to pick up my new boat that week, I figured I would have to pay through Hyundai Parts and Service. When I called them, they were confused about why I had been sold the car since it isn't meant to tow anything heavier than a bike. I then contacted Hyundai USA, who transferred me several times until I ended up speaking with another dealership. They reiterated the 5,000 lbs towing capacity. Since I now owned the vehicle, I decided to consult the manual, which stated that towing is not recommended. Frustrated and worried about voiding my warranty, I considered returning it or switching to another car. The dealership was slow to respond, so I took PTO and went there directly. I was at the dealership from 10 AM to almost 6 PM. The sales manager was unhelpful and dismissive, focusing solely on making another sale. I inquired about switching to the cheapest vehicle they had that could tow, even if it was used, but he said finance wouldn't allow it--a policy I had never encountered before. He also refused to summon the GM until after about five hours of waiting. When the GM finally appeared, he tried to assist, but it felt like no one was willing to take responsibility and help resolve this nightmare. In the end, I switched to an older Mazda. They claimed to remove a bunch of fees, but ultimately, I was charged for paperwork and miscellaneous fees for both the Kona and the Mazda. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and reached out to Hyundai USA because I believe I conducted thorough research and was sold a vehicle that could not meet my needs, which was the sole reason for purchasing a new vehicle. read more

HYUNDAI SERVICE CENTER LIED Weeks ago I scheduled an early morning service appointment.  I was told that the warranty repair would be quick, maybe an hour, and that I should wait at the dealership.   This morning I arrive early morning only to be advised the warranty repair would require me to leave my car *all day*.   I re-arranged my schedule to accommodate this quick repair.   Hyundai service center representative lied.  HYUNDAI SERVICE CENTER LOSES PARTS - SLOPPY I had an oil change and tire rotation.   Later I discovered the Hyundai technician did not replace all the tire lug nuts.   I had to purchase and replace lug nuts that were lost by Hyundai service team.  HYUNDIA IS SHADY I purchased a used car and it came with only 1 set of keys.   When inquiring about purchasing a second set of keys, I was quoted prices that range from less than $100 to over $300.   Hyundai is shady. read more

My husband had a trade-in, and they gave us a fair price for it. Into the finance office we go, and dealt with Huey. He sold us a warranty (5 year 60k miles) and made a bit of a deal on it, and offered me a new deal on one for my new Genesis (purchased elsewhere). I was a loyal no bull customer, but they could not come close to Chapman's price (or wouldn't) on a 2024 Elantra Limited, even though I had a LONG and DEEP relationship with their sales department people. To be fair, they spent 9 million on a new building and they have to recoup the cost. So, I get it! But as luck would have it, Nick at Chapman answered my phone call. It was an hour drive to get to Nick, but he took care of me every step of they way. He even delivered the car to my wife personally. Kudos to Chapman for approving the deal but the real superstar was Nick. Nick is a true gentleman and really catered to us "boomers." I especially appreciate the courtesy he extended to my wife, because it is her car, and he made sure she was thrilled with the purchase. I bought a car from here in about August of 2024. The vehicle was then totaled on 11/13/24. I was smart enough to buy GAP insurance while buying the vehicle. I needed required documents from the dealership and it took FOURTEEN calls to get those documents REQUESTED it is now 01/03/2025 and I have still NOT received those documents after my request in NOVEMBER. This place only cares about money. I bought a car with the wrong sized tires on the vehicle, the passenger seat wasn't bolted down, AND the break pedal was loose not to mention the brake pads were at a HAZARD level of low and was labeled as a driving risk to myself and others on the road. Additionally, customers are nickel-and-dimed with a $27.75 charge for shop supplies and an additional $7.00 for a water reclamation fee. These fees, coupled with the promise of a car wash, might seem like a small consolation, but they do little to justify the unjustifiable. Upon scheduling my appointment for 12:00 on a Tuesday, I arrived punctually, only to find the service center devoid of any semblance of customer care. There was no one to greet me, leaving me to wander aimlessly until I stumbled upon an individual who, for the sake of this review, shall remain nameless. This initial encounter set the tone for what would unfold as a series of disappointments and frustrations. The following day, I received a text notification that was as unintelligible as it was unhelpful, accompanied by a vague video from the technician, leaving me none the wiser regarding the outcome of the diagnosis. Such lack of clarity only compounded my growing sense of unease. It was on Thursday that the true extent of Chapman Hyundai Scottsdale's incompetence was revealed. I was informed via text, in a manner so cursory it bordered on disrespectful, that the air struts of my 2015 Hyundai Equus were leaking and would require a repair totaling an astronomical $8000.00. Shockingly, this figure was presented to me without any itemization, leaving me to speculate that the lion's share of the sum was earmarked for labor costs. The OEM struts themselves retail for a fraction of the quoted price, further exacerbating my suspicions of price gouging and dishonesty. Refusing to be swindled, I communicated my decision to seek alternative repair options. To my dismay, I was met with further resistance and obstinance. Not only was I informed that I would still be required to pay the exorbitant diagnosis fee, but I was also instructed to make yet another appointment to have my car retrieved--a process that should have been seamless and accommodating but instead felt like an exercise in futility. Upon reclaiming my vehicle at the appointed time of 12 noon, I was greeted once again by the disheartening sight of neglect and indifference. My car, far from the promised post-service car wash, was ensconced in a layer of avian excrement, akin to a vehicle abandoned in a salvage yard. Fingerprints marred both the exterior and interior surfaces, a particularly egregious offense considering the pristine white interior of my car. Seeking clarification and redress for this litany of grievances, I approached a staff member in the service department, only to be met with apathy and disdain. We have been taking our Hyundai's to Chapman Hyundai for many years. Joe Bartizal is one of the best Service Advisors. He has ensured our vehicles are serviced properly and advised us of potential problems. However, he also told us that Chapman will no longer honor coupons from other Hyundai dealerships. I just paid $108.92 for an oil change for each of my vehicles! $108.92 each!! I have a current coupon from Camelback Hyundai for $30.00 off from Camelback Hyundai but apparently, I cannot use it at Chapman Hyundai. I could have changed the oil at AAA for full synthetic oil for only $59.95 but I trusted Chapman to provide better service and reasonable pricing. I am also unable to have my Tucson diagnosed under warranty at Chapman because they want to keep it and have no loaner vehicles while it is in the shop. This makes my warranty worthless! Sadly, after having our vehicles serviced at Chapman since 1988 we will have to find another service center that is interested in keeping us as a customer without sticking us with high prices. read more
