Our experience with Kermit Chapman was far from professional. He likes to work on more of a drop in bases rather than coming at agreed time frames. He has to order everything, nothing on hand if something needs to be replaced, and no time urgency for repairs. The first time he came out he only fixed half the problem which then resulted in a water leak in the wall. A simple shower repair took almost a month. If you own your home, I would not reccomend using chapmans legacy. Great for property management company look for cheap repair man. read more

I highly recommend this company. They do what it takes to get the job done at an affordable price! I had another company out the day before that made a huge mess and didn't clear my problems. The other company made a huge mess and left, while suggesting that I change pipes under the house( $450 estimate) because they will not go on the roof. It is a single story home that has easy access to the roof and the vent that needed to be snaked. Chapmans cam out and assessed the problem. Went on the roof and easily cleared the line. No $450 pipe change needed. The technician even explained everything he was doing and why. Great Plumbing company with a great service attitude and Old School Customer Service. The main water line to my rental property gave up the ghost after 30+ years underground. Now, I'm very, very handy and this sort of repair doesn't typically faze me. I dug up the line and demo'd out the rusted galvanized. I built up a new riser out of galvanized and brass, and was ready to make the replacement when... I went to unscrew the final nipple going into the house, it broke off in the wall! So, now cut hole in wall, find pipe, demo copper fitting, sweat on new fitting. No big deal right? Wrong. My propane torch couldn't heat up the fitting adequately, and I cold jointed it. LEAKS! WATER! Aaaaargh! Digging, demoing, multiple trips to OSH, building the new riser--that took me 8 hrs, from 230 to 1030. Needless to say my tenant was not happy. So, next morning I was referred to Chapmans by another highly recommended plumber on Yelp who couldn't help due to his schedule. Kermit from Chapmans responded in less than five minutes via phone and was onsite in less than an hour. I met him at the property, he gave me a very reasonable price, and fixed the connection in less than 30 min. More importantly, he showed me some good techniques, pointed out how I could do things much more simply, and didn't charge me extra for asking a bunch of questions and looking over his shoulder like Opie on the Andy Griffith show ("whatcha doin Pa?") Best money I ever spent. My pride prevented me from asking him to do the whole thing, but in hindsight, I should have cause it took me the rest of the afternoon to do what would have taken him probably an hour or two. I was referred to Chapmans by another plumbing company that was too busy. I am glad that Kermit came out. I called because I had a shower faucet leaking really bad. It was unrepairable and needed to be replaced. We had to schedule an appointment for a week out due to conflicting schedules but he and his son came out today and replaced the shower faucet. They are both really nice guys and didn't mind answering my questions or my looking over their shoulders while they worked. They did a great job and I could be happier with the repair. Their prices are very competitive and I highly recommend them. They will be my regular plumber now when the next issue comes up! read more

Chapman's Legacy Plumbing has replaced two water heaters for us (at two properties). This third visit they installed a sink, faucet and all new plumbing under that sink. In August 2014 we contacted a local based plumbing company to fix a water backup into the kitchen sink and master shower pan when the washing machine would drain. That company we contacted came out quickly and performed a video inspection of the laundry line to the main line. They then suggested a hydro jet cleaning which we approved. Three hundred and fifty dollars later, the water no longer backed up, everybody was happy. Fast forward to the week of February 9th 2015: The water backup problem had returned! We contacted the company that performed the hydro jet cleaning 5 months prior to see what could be happening now. That company said that they didn't even need to come out already knew what the problem was. They said that when they did the video inspection they saw that the main sewer line was disintegrating and it would have to be replaced. This didn't surprise us too much because we knew that the main line was at least 50 years old. I did a little research to see what kind of costs I was going to be looking at for a main sewer line replacement or a trenchless reline and found that we were looking at some significant dollars ($4000.00 - $6,500.00). Before spending that kind of money I decided to get other estimates. From a good friend's recommendation I contacted Chapman's Legacy Plumbing and spoke to Kermit. Kermit arrived as scheduled. Normally the access point to video inspect the main sewer line is from the clean-out. unfortunately our old house did not have a clean-out added when it was built. Kermit tried to access the main sewer line from the roof vent line but that vent line offset when the house was built and there were too many 90 degree bends between it and the main for camera access. Since a clean-out was going to be necessary whether the main line was replaced or relined, we had Chapman's Legacy Plumbing install one. Once the clean-out was installed Kermit was able to thoroughly video inspected the main line. Kermit's inspection found that the main sewer line was in excellent shape! Since the problem wasn't in the main sewer line (where we had told him it was going off bad information from the other company) he was able to find the root cause of the water backup which was just a hair/grease clog in the connection between the shower/washing machine and kitchen sink. That was cleared quickly and everything is now draining just as it should. I don't make many reviews but I know how important it is to find an quality company that knows their profession and treats their customers with respect and honesty. My wife and I will be using Chapman's Legacy Plumbing from this point on for all of our plumbing needs. read more
