Zach came out and was super knowledgeable and explained the issue. He quickly fixed the problem with the toilet and at a very reasonable cost compared to quotes I got from other companies. Zach replaced the flapper and valve. We had an old pull out method valve and he installed a more sturdy quarter turn valve on our toilet. Beware of pricing. This company has very friendly people and if you don't do your research, I can see the justification for the large number of high reviews. I was quoted $3200 for a job that should not cost more than $1k which was supported by 3 other licensed contractors. My alarms went off when the cost of a water flow monitor from them was 1k when retail it's between 550-650. Then they said they could complete this the same day in less than 2 hours as it was an easy job. So let's do the math. Materials from them are 1k. 2 hours of labor is $2200. Math doesn't add up. Based on previous negative reviews, it's certain the business will provide some justification. But I hope this can get to someone to do their research and perhaps the business will reconsider their pricing. Farmers insurance is requiring these Moen water flow shut offs and people feel rushed to get them installed before their policy is cancelled. They shouldn't be grossly overpaying. read more

i would not recommend this plumber and found their billing and service practices very unethical. I have lived in El Dorado Hills for over 20 years and have used so many great service companies. This is truly the first bad review I have had to write. This company has deceptive pricing and charged my 93 year old mother $700 extra on a $600 job to do "questionably unnecessary work" that took them an additional 30 minutes tops. They would also not respond to my request for a copy of the invoice that was signed. it has been a horrible experience and now they are threatening to put a lien on her home. read more

Had a pipe burst on my main line while on vacation. Called on Monday and Zach came out Tuesday. He went to work immediately and fixed the busted pipe on the spot. After running a pressure test he discovered the gauge was bad and was able to replace it immediately too! We had them come out to de-scale our Rinnai unit (they installed it as well a few years back). We attempted to do the de-scaling ourselves but couldn't get to a couple valves so we called them- nice young man Brett came out, on time and pleasant, did the process which was about 30 min or so, explained some helpful tips as far as maintenance- tankless water heater is chugging along well and now gets hot a lot faster after de-scaling- don't neglect doing the de-scaling as many of us live in a hard-water area and a tankless is not an insignificant investment, it's worth it to keep up on it. I called DMartel Plumbing on in December to seek specific service/product, etc. The technician that came out spent much of our conversation bad-mouthing competitors whom I won't mention names, claiming they were unreliable to position their own service as superior. This felt manipulative rather than helpful. Despite clearly stating my needs and budget, they aggressively pushed an unnecessary upsell for bad mouthing the original installer. Then called the original installer and was told those parts aren't needed. Then went the distance and called the manufacturer to further confirm these parts were not needed as DMartel pressured me by saying these guys ruined your warranty per manufacturer, premium add-ons costing $5,000! I walked away feeling pressured and distrustful. Companies should focus on honest service, not tactics that undermine trust. They've showed me they are actually afraid of these certain companies as these companies were correct and ultimately superior, and DMartel was/is not! read more

Then he completed a complicated repair replacing a cold water valve for a Roman tub. He found the needed replacement part through Delta and gave me the details for me to order it. The valve was located inside a tight compartment only accessible from the outside of my house. Working with my contractor, the space was made larger to allow Zack to work on it. The first was more of an emergency situation during poor weather conditions and albeit they were busy, they were able to get a team member (Jason Lee) out quickly to repair a leaky pipe. Jason was awesome! The second and most recent was last week. We were looking to run water to our garage for a new refrigerator and they were able to take the appt right away and send a team member (Quentin P.) within 30 minutes. We developed a leak in our main water line due to the impact of roots from a nearby (recently removed) redwood tree. Removing soil around the leak showed a slow leak and exposed the piping which was being deformed by several roots around the line. It also showed a number of prior fixes for root-caused problems. We called D Martel on Friday and got service scheduled for the following Monday. The office called to confirm the appointment and Quentin arrived a short time later, examined the break, and provided us with an estimate (very reasonable) for the work. He removed the existing pipe, cut back all of the interfering roots, and replaced 6' of the main line with new pipe well spaced from any remaining roots which will help avoid any future problems. All in all, a nice clean solution to what has been an ongoing issue for years. We've been using D Martel for various plumbing jobs for several years. They have always done very professional, excellent work at a fair price and have been pleasant to deal with. I would recommend them to anyone. read more
