RoHa Brewing Project - Seltzer Sorcery & Chill Vibes RoHa Brewing is my new happy place. Walked in expecting solid beer, walked out dreaming about their Raspberry Lemon Zest Seltzer. It's like a fruit picnic in a glass--bright, tart, and just the right amount of sparkle. If summer had a flavor, this would be it. The taproom has that perfect low-key vibe: friendly staff, laid-back crowd, and a patio that practically begs you to stay for "just one more." No food, but they're cool with you bringing your own, they also seem to have food trucks quite regularly. Which makes it feel like a backyard hangout with better drinks and no cleanup. RoHa Brewing has a really relaxed and welcoming vibe--definitely one of those places where you can just sit back and unwind for a while. The outdoor patio is spacious and comfortable, complete with water bowls for dogs, which made it super easy to enjoy the visit with Luna. It's tucked away just enough to feel local and laid-back, yet still close to everything. We happened to be the only ones there at the time, which gave it an extra chill feel-almost like having our own private brewery hangout. The beer selection was solid, with a few creative options worth trying, and the staff was friendly and happy to chat about their brews. If there was one miss, it was the pretzel--it tasted like it came straight from the freezer and was served with nacho cheese instead of a traditional beer cheese or mustard, which was a little disappointing. I came here today, a Monday, to kill some time before a flight. I was pretty much the only one in there for the 2 1/2 hours that I was there. The bartender was extremely friendly and she had her adorable dog working with her! The beer selection was great, there was plenty of space to work with my laptop, and the bathrooms were clean. Going with a whole series of Mexican Lagers at a whole bunch of different breweries on this trip I felt like the one I had at RoHa was just fair. Not bad by any means but it just didn't have that extra zing to it of breadiness and corn flavor even though it was an intended flavor highlight for it. And of course extra points having the beer aged in tequila barrels but that's fairly rare to find. Other flavor features was bitterness and tartness. The location was pretty cool and it was a very popular place the night I was here with quite a line going to the front counter so perhaps an additional beer choice was in order to see if I had a different opinion on it but I wasn't willing to get in the line and wait and was eager to get away from the crowd. On a slower night the place looks like it would have been fun to hang out at. The crowd though didn't impact the star score I am leaving. I've been to plenty of busy breweries with amazing beer and could see why it would be busy but I left with mixed stimuli on this beer experience as I didn't feel like the Lone Ranger Mexican Lager was all that memorable. read more

GREAT curbside service. Loved the fact they respected my very strong contactless goals though I believe you can also pop inside during COVID time to order - but why not stay safer? I went here and chose this as one of the breweries to support specifically during my time in SLC because of their curbside pickup. I made it easy for myself and them by looking up the beers ahead of time and making a list of what I wanted. When I pulled up I gave a little toot of the horn and someone came to my car outside, I handed them my list and moments later they loaded it into my car. They handed me the iPad to swipe my card so it was a little easier on that end. I am still working through all the different beers I got. My one suggestion would be a bit more thorough description of the flavors of the beer. For example we got the Shambo Juicy IPA and I am used to New England style juicy IPAs that are not sweet at all but rather hazy and drier but this one was pretty sticky sweet which I would not have expected from the description. The other beers we had were all great; my partner especially loved the big green couch double ipa and I loved the saison. Oh, I also loved they put the prices right on the website! Not enough places do that! They sell special ones by the can or their regular ones (5% beers) in 6 packs or 12 packs. read more

Great little brewery hidden off the beaten track a few blocks from the ballpark. Several low point taps and a nice selection of high point cans. Liked the bartender and the small cute space. Yelper tip: don't expect cans on holidays. We were at RoHa on July 4th to pre-game a Bees vs Chihuahua minor league game because the beer at Smith Park is all 4%. No dice. Silly Utah. read more

I've delivered slug magazine to this location before once or twice before. So I'm going based off of my own experience with their customer service essentially and professionalism while I got them their packages. Friendly staff that was inside. It is a cool area that they made into a brewery, which I think is a super smart idea and pretty bad ass. They have a decent size parking lot and big industrial size type of material that plays in part with the brewing process and everything. I haven't personally tried any of their beers for a legitimate reason. I can't drink beer because I'm severely celiac and/or gluten intolerant and know some of the breweries are offering gluten free beer but honestly I don't think it's worth the hassle and would it even taste as good or be worth the brewers time that has to put effort into not only producing products now but "editing" those projects so to speak. What do I know though? I haven't ever been a huge beer person, but for someone that has been a beer guy/gal & then all of a sudden their lives depend on whether they consume it or not. It would probably scare me enough hopefully to stop drinking beer and watch for alcohols that are made with certain ingredients like barley and a few others. I had a BAD ALLERGIC REACTION from a tequila. Only think it for sure was that because a friend and I had consumed a new bottle just between us almost finishing it. For a good while I didn't know that there was gluten in alcohol besides beer. my eyes were itchy, sinus issues, puffy face, not good. So be careful friends. read more

Drove here to get some beers after work and didn't stay because two dogs were roaming around inside the brewery -- one with a long leash and one without. The sign at the door strictly says that dogs are allowed only in the patio and on a leash. I would like to visit again if they start reinforcing their own rules. I appreciate places where dogs are welcome, but there should also be places where people can go and not be forced to be around someone's pet. read more

A dog was chilling with the Table outside. and inside they actually had a basket of tennis balls 4 dogs inside that you could take indicating dog friendly place. 30 on a Friday night the place was about half full a lot of young people I would say all under 30 sitting at the bar. There are several other tables to sit inside though not many. there are beers they have on tap that do not Get bottled. I was there To pick up canned beer and go so I was not there very long but it seems like a nice little place. read more

The vibe here is definitely like a neighborhood bar/beer shop. There are about 12 seats available and since we're in Utah, there are only about four low point beers available on tap. If you want a light beer and some light socialization after work or on the weekends, this is a great spot to check out. It's a great place to socialize since there are only so many seats and they all face each other so, a lot of times you find yourself making small talk with the bartender. ROHA masters the light american ale. If this is not your favorite beer, you might want to check out the beer to go instead. Also because of Utah law, you are not allowed to bring beer from the beer to go area to the bar area and vice versa. There is a black line on the floor that indicates this. No substantial food options are really available. If you're wanting a full meal, you'll want to go out beforehand. read more

My friend and I decided we needed to have a beer-hopping day. We stopped in here after visiting a different, and fairly lacking brewery. So we felt like anything would be an improvement to the previous. However, we were blown away by the beers RoHa had to offer. First off, RoHa is a small, cute little tap room. Maximum Occupancy is set at 81 - but I think that's pushing it, by at least 61 people. This tap room reminded me of one of my absolute favorites in Fort Collins, so I immediately felt at home. My friend and I sat at the bar, and per usual, I fail at looking at what they have ON tap, and just go straight to the bartender to ask him. They had four in our visit. 2 of theirs, (Back Porch Pale Ale, and Three Deep American Ale), and 2 guest beers, one from Proper (so you know you are in a good place. Am I biased? Maybe.) and one from Bohemian. We asked for a sample of each of their beers, and received them in their awesome pint glasses. Immediately, we knew we had come to the right place for the day. The Three Deep American Ale was my favorite, but I liked the Pale as well, whereas my friend had the exact opposite preferences. Though their current selection is small, a pint of either of them would not go to waste. And will be had in the future. The bartender also told us that their Saison had just won an award up in an Idaho contest (I think this is correct information that I remember). I'm a saison gal, so my ears immediately perked up, and I made a mental note to come back and try. [They do have it bottled for $7] While enjoying our space and the constant trickle of people coming in to try, to buy, to leave, we checked out the fun swag RoHa has to offer. On our way out, we each picked up one of their signature pints to go ($4). RoHa is definitely a stop I will make again. I'm super excited to see what else they have to offer in the coming months! Oh! Cute little brewery sample space, and in Utah that says something. We drank "the plank" made up of 6 sample size beers of what's on tap. I love the creativity in the brews. The bar keep was super nice and she knows her beers. The 3 deep is mind blowingly smooth and lives up to its name. Took some of them and the shambo home and found out shambo is not for me. Tastes like an orange creamsicle. Next time I'll stick to what's on tap and I can sample. read more

Love everything about this brewery, the concept, the selection of beers, service and location... however I hate Utah's liquor licence nonsense. I'm a fan of stopping at small breweries around the USA, and tasting the beers, then buying a few bombers for home. Unfortunately you can't do this everywhere in Utah. I was only able to taste the beers they offer which are under 4%. Nooo! I don't usually like beers under 4%, so I had to buy some bombers of the one I really wanted to try without tasting it first. So be forewarned that when visiting this brewery you may need to blindly buy. read more

First thing you must do is put the 4% state law barrier out of your mind when you try beers in Utah. It's not the brewery's fault the state places the laws they do. If your a true fan of beer you know it's more about the flavor and aroma than it is ABV. With that being said I think RoHa brewery produces the best beer I had in SLC. Try what they have on tap and then take the shambo juicy and the big green couch to go and try it at home. Two very well done beers? A caveat they do sell beers above 4% (as shown the can in the picture) you just can't enjoy beers over 4% in the brewery. read more

We decided to stop by RoHa brewing while in Salt Lake City thanks to other Yelp reviews. This was our first experience drinking in Utah, so we had to get the rundown of some local laws. All beers served on the premises must be 5% ABV or less. RoHa had 6 beers to choose from on tap that fell into that category. I went with the Maltese Cross Red Ale. My fiance choose a pint of their Project Porter. We were able to take our beers out to their makeshift patio. They set picnic tables up in a portion of their parking lot. To delineate the parking lot from the new "patio" they upcycled used pallets by standing them up side by side and nailing them together. I thought it was brilliant. It was a chilly day outside, but the bonus was our beer never got warm. I enjoyed my red ale. I took a sip of the porter and I thought it was lacking body, but the flavor was good. Overall the pints were solid and it was nice to sit outside on our own for our first time in Salt Lake City. read more

My husband ran a work event here with tour & tasting for a group. Everyone had time to ask great questions about the brewing process & flavor profiles etc. They have an sweet set up & we even had a chance to stay for live stand up. Their brews are AWESOME! The brews are coming along nicely at this hidden gem. A somewhat limited selection (but its growing!) with a really nice IPA. Limited bar seating, in case the crowd rolls in. One of my favorite breweries in all of Salt Lake City. Danae is my favorite beer-tender and just the best person to talk to! My favorites are Three Deep, Big Green Couch, and Americano! They make really cool and unique batches throughout the year. I haven't been disappointed by their creativity yet. Definitely a place to check out if you're from around here or just visiting for a weekend. The space is great and it's a nice place to hang out with friends. They're located close to downtown so although there's no food, you're really close to really good options. read more

The tap room is cozy and welcoming to meet a friend for a pint. The beer served in the tap room is 4% and is has really good flavor, try the Back Porch if you are into Pale Ales. The Three Deep American is refreshing and an American ale. I really like that you can get cans and 22 oz bottles to take away. The Kensington is lovely and softened with a taste of oak. I am also a big fan of the Big Green Couch, a Double IPA that is big and bold, yet surprisingly dry. A great addition to the neighborhood. read more

I had hope! Their three deep draft is their best offering. The canned double ipa pours a malty, darker almost amber hue. It almost tastes as though they are trying to create an IPA flavor out of the malt. I was hoping that that was just a miss until we opened the saison. I can't actually describe what style of beer they are going for but saison isn't it. It pours same color as the double IPA, had a heavy malt body, and next to no tartness. We had a hermit thrush saison from VT after it and I wouldn't even put the two in the same category. Hopefully they can produce some good full strength stuff soon. I will continue to drink the tree deep to support them but they really need to work on the high point stuff. Besides that, the space and staff are awesome, friendly, and helpful! read more
