My friend ordered bacon as an add on and they totally forgot it and trying to get condiments was a hassle and not provided but only available upon request which is annoying. Keller Favorite. Just made another stop at Chapps recently and was reminded what a good burger they have. A thick, juicy, Nolan Ryan beef burger with plenty of good topping choices and well-fried, but tender fresh cut fries. I'll admit though, my favorite is their Big Dog with Chili and Cheese! A lightly toasted bun, what must be an all-beef hot dog and then great tasting chili with melted cheese, grilled onions and mustard to put it over the top! I don't know how anyone eats an entire Knockout burger, it's MASSIVE! But don't let the size fool you, there is no quantity over quality happening here. I loved the burger, it was just the greasy, eggy, bacony thing I was looking for. We also ordered a 1984 which had insanely good caramelized onions on it which made everything else in the burger so sweet. I only had to lose a star on the fries. They were not the best, and if they were just a regular side that came with the burger I wouldn't have to take the star, but since there is an up charge for fries I was expecting better. My favorite girl ordered the knockout burger. I ate half because she couldn't finish it. The onion rings are big with thick batter, which I prefer. The two guys who helped were very nice. We stopped by for a late munch in the new location. The service was friendly and prompt. We got the loaded fries and they were cooked well but not so "loaded". We ordered two burgers. My son got the one with the fried egg on it and thought it was "not bad". I got the 1984 burger. The bun and the toppings were all on par but the burger itself had no flavor. It was very over cooked and when I took a closer look at my sons, his was too. I don't like "rare" burgers but I don't want them grey and hard. Food is great. Let's get that established right away. Always loved the burgers here and IMO, best in town. That said, this owner is obviously stuck in COVID times. There are huge plastic barriers at the registers that you have to reach around, which wouldn't be a problem but there's no condiments available for customers to grab so we have to ask the high school employee to grab it for us. Do you really think that kid's hygiene is better than your customers? So we're just trusting them to have better hygiene than us? Additionally, I as the customer have to ask the employee to help me. Typically, as a part of customer service, the employee asks something like "can I help you?" Instead, we are left to stand there in a line awkwardly until the employee makes it known to us that he's actually there to take our order and not just stand there. Back to the food, it's awesome. My college kiddo was home for winter break and was Door Dashing for extra money. She told me that she picked up lots of orders from Chapps. She also said their staff is extremely kind to Dashers (definitely not always the case). So when I had a burger craving tonight, I skipped the steakhouse I would normally order from. Oh my goodness, I am so happy to find this gem of a burger joint! My burger was huge, cooked perfectly, juicy, and they certainly didn't skim on the toppings. I had a burger with cheddar with grilled onions and avocado, and we tried the onion rings and sweet potato fries. I am so picky about burgers and sweet potato fries... But it was all so delicious. I can see myself swinging by just to fulfill a sweet potato fry craving. With everything going on in the world, I want to support small businesses. Visited the new location for the first time (Keller). The meal for 2 cost us $36.00 (with tip, which I'm not sure why this was asked during payment because they don't do what restaurant servers do and I guess I could have said $0) and that is too pricey for us. I do understand prices are up but that's a bit much for burgers, fries & a drink. However the young lady who took our order was fantastic, loved her. The young lady who brought us our food could benefit from learning some people skills however. The ladies restroom was nice and clean, but all the dining tables were dirty with grease splotches. The burger was so delicious, my fries were cold so I didn't eat much of them. Everyone knows cold fries are not delicious. My husband got the Cajun fries and those were warm and delicious. Well if the Coronavirus wasn't bad enough jet over to Chapps for the most unfriendly service out there. They don't know the menu and lack the customer service you would normally expect from this tasty burger joint. The young man behind the counter was rude and gave off the most negative vibe I have seen in a long time. When asked about the veggie burger eyes were rolled and the response was simply, "not meat". He guessed beans but was corrected by the other cashier who said "I think it's vegetables but mostly carrots". Neither wanted to actually ask the chef behind them!! It is near grocery stores and nothing is expensive. You don't even have to fret about what you want to eat because they only have a limited menu: mostly hamburgers and hot dogs. You put in your order and they bring it to you. Not being a big eater, the baby Chapps burger is what I usually order. It's the one with 1/4 pound of meat. The hamburger tastes like your mom used to make at home (unless I am your mom and have burned it black ;-). It has all the good stuff on it. They understand us folks who want plenty of pickles.The fries are good. This place is great for a quick bite, or a relaxing break.
