We were nicely greeted by Morgan at the front desk and taken to the table of our choice, with my nice 56-pound bulldog on a leash. Not one word was said about the dog, and I appreciate that! She is very well behaved and she sat under the table while we ate in the booth, creating no disturbance of any kind. But I got the feeling that dogs on leashes are absolutely welcome in here. My lady friend and I were both hungry for seafood, but not all that terribly hungry. We had had a late breakfast, so a lighter lunch was in order! We asked if we could split an item on the menu, the seafood fried with two sides. Our waiter, Chris, smiled, "Well, of course... people do that all the time!" He could not have been nicer. Our meal came out quickly; the food was hot, very, very tasty, and beautifully presented! He had the meal split in halves in the kitchen, so we would not have to do it ourselves at the table.There was absolutely plenty for both of us; neither finished our "half" of what was served! I don't think it could've been a better experience in any way. Atmosphere and decor was nice, noise level not too loud, the place was spotlessly clean, and the food was absolutely delicious. A friend and I decided to dine here one evening, as the cuisine is pretty neutral, as we couldn't decide on what we were craving. Upon entering this establishment, we were greeted promptly, and escorted to our table. A very nice female server promptly took our drink order, and we chose the queso topped with smoke brisket. Our appetizer arrived and it wasn't good. The queso itself appeared to be watered down as it was thin and runny, and the tortilla chips were covered in oil and not that crispy. For our entrees, I ordered the $9.99 chicken fried chicken special with broccoli cheese rice casserole along with the squash casserole. The chicken was tasty and the sides were really good, but the gravy served with the chicken tasted like it was reconstitued from powder. My dining partner ordered the Tex-Mex salad and she liked it. While the service was attentive and accomodating, the food itself was just okay. read more

Waitress said she put in the refill order then came back 20 minutes later asking if she wanted a refill. And we had to remind the waitress that my sister asked for a refill already. Cotten Patch has always been great. Very good service and great atmosphere at the Village location. Yesterday 4/9/25 around 6 pm total chaos. Dirty table, bad service and waited about 45 minutes and then we gave up on our food. What happened management?? If I was managing this store heads would roll. We went on a Wednesday to a packed restaurant. We arrived around 6. The hostess sat us near the bathrooms and as we approached the table we could see napkins under two of the legs to stabilize it. As soon as we sat down the table started to wobble. We quickly picked up our stuff and moved to the next table over. I never understand why restaurants don't know how to fix this or replace the table. Our waiter Evan was running around taking care of many tables and was doing a great job. We had Chicken fried steak and the light grilled chicken and the food was good. The rolls are always amazing and the butter - yum! The service was okay for one. I really loved the corn bread that was probably my favorite! and our entrees were pretty good too. Lots of flavor! I wouldn't reccomend the squash as a side that was not very good at alll. The server was also talking for our entire meal and didn't check up on us so by the time I was done I was able to tell her about my squash but it was too late to even want anything else which was disappointing. They didn't have anyone in the restaurant besides maybe two other tables but the food is good and I will come back and try some other things on the menu. My boyfriend just ordered a plate with chicken rice and his choice of sides was max n cheese and green beans. I had the chicken fried plate with the mac n cheese and baked squash. read more

We ordered dinner ahead of time to pick up. Our order was to be ready about 9:30 PM on Saturday night. When we arrive to pick up our order, the restaurant was empty and the staff was "hanging out." When we walked in no one greeted us and then one girl closer to the kitchen said we're closed but they did not close until 10 PM. While we waited for our order to be bagged up one of the young men in the back said, "suck my d***." The other young man grabbed his crotch. Our food was fine, but I don't feel like the staff was acting appropriately. We checked our order when we got to the car and there was a problem with our order so we took that back in and asked for what we really ordered. They still acted very inconvenienced by our presence. It was obvious to us. They were already closed in their mind. So if you are wondering why your cells are down on Saturday night after 9 PM it might be because your staff turns people away because they don't want to wait on them. I feel like if the restaurant is open until 10 PM anyone should be able to walk in up until 10 PM and still be served full venue. Is this correct? read more

Don't try and order online from this place. I'd like to mention I've only tried this place three or four times now and never has anything i've received matched what i've actually ordered. And it will ALWAYS take way longer than expected ( 90-120 minutes ). Today ( June 28th, 2022 ) I was even trolled and given a full uncooked potato instead of mashed potatoes and chicken fried steak WITHOUT BREADING instead of a regular goddamn chicken fried chicken. Oh yea and they'll forget your drink each time as-well. Pathetic. Always good food. You get your food quick and it never disappoints. But I want to give an extra shoutout to the wait staff. My grandfather had a stroke and really struggles to speak and communicate. We take him there every weekend. Every waitress we've gotten has been so kind and patient as he tries to sound out the words on the menu. Some of them know him by name and make him feel welcome and laugh and joke with him. It is one of his favorite restaurants now. read more

Yep, we're slow learners, we went back again. This time for lunch, where we were served the "lunch portions" of chicken fried chicken and chicken fried steak with one veggie. The service was fine. The food was not so hot. I just wanted a quick steak, so I ordered a 10 oz ribeye with baked potato. The potato was almost cold, and the steak wasn't like any ribeye I've ever seen. The cut was wrong, there was no marble, it was just a thin, tough piece of meat without much flavor. I will not be back. ----- Update: Well, I changed my mind and went back on New Years Day to have some black eyed peas and give it another chance. Big mistake. Granted they were busy - much of it to-go orders, but I was seated right away. Unfortunately, after well over an hour wait at the table, and the server complaining that the kitchen wasn't giving him what he needed, I decided to leave. The kitchen - and the manager seemed to be focused on to-go orders and giving the dining room little attention. When I got to my car, I decided this was ridiculous and went back to talk to the manager. Unfortunately, that turned out to be a big waste of time. I could tell I was just a nuisance and he couldn't wait to get rid of me and my concerns, even though I told him this was strike 2. He went through the motions of taking my address and phone number, and promising me a voucher - which of course I never received. There in lies the problem IMO - bad management. I ordered a chicken avocado sandwich with cinnamon apples & peach cobbler from this restaurant, this evening, for dinner. When I received the food, I noticed they substituted Texas toast for the bun they showed in the photo of the chicken avocado sandwich that is on the website; also, the avocado spread they used was barely there at all. I added slices of an avocado I have here at home, to get the taste I should have gotten from the restaurant. The peach cobbler was stone cold, no attempt was made to heat it up. I'm afraid I won't be ordering from this restaurant, again; it used to have great food, Pre-COVID, but now, it just isn't the same as it used to be. I don't know who their cook is, but they need to replace that cook with someone who knows what they're doing, sadly. Also, the prices were a bit high, especially for cobbler & a sandwich! read more

I'll start off by saying I love Cotton Patch the chain. My normal place is the one in watauga. I'll also say my review is solely based on the kitchen. The waitress was sweet and apologetic. I was dead set on meatloaf. I've had it here before and it's awesome with a side of broccoli rice casserole and black eyed peas. I ordered. And the waitress came back and told me they were out. Bummer! Nothing else sounded good. I opted for chicken and dumplings (same sides) instead. We ordered the new Texas size onion rings except we got more than we ordered. It was served with black curly hair. YUCK! (This item was comped off our tab and taken away.) My husband ordered fish tacos (which were supposed to be grilled tilapia). When his dish came out, it was fried not grilled. In fact half way thru eating, he realized it was fried chicken strip tacos! Not fish but chicken. My food was not good. Like I said earlier I've eaten Cotton patch before but the sides were terrible. I'm extremely disappointed with our meal. There are several places around here that we were looking at and we settled on this Cotton Patch because Normally we get good food and we can rely on quality and consistency.
