pad thai (chicken), house fried (tofu), rawang curry (chicken), blue rice, and house salad
    Miya E.

Even though I frequent Redlands quite often, I had never heard of Chapter Two until recently. After visiting, I think this place deserves more recognition for its quality food, service, and aesthetic! I went by the recommendation of a local friend and we ordered pad thai (with chicken), fried rice (with tofu), rawang curry (with chicken), and mango sticky rice. Everything was beautifully plated and I appreciated the careful attention to detail. I was pleasantly surprised by the rich flavors of the curry and pad thai, despite their modern twists on traditional dishes. The pad thai featured noodles that were thinner and more stringy than usual, and the rawang curry was slightly more watery than I prefer. However, when combined with the fried rice, each dish really came to life. That said, they were enjoyable on their own as well. Every place has its own take on mango sticky rice, and this one features purple sticky rice, sliced mangoes, and a side of strawberries. While it wasn't my favorite, the dish was delicately flavored and had a nice sweetness!

$14 khao krug kapi. SO much flavor, arguably too much?? still delicious

Chapter Two is loma linda's hidden gem! It's a shabby looking restaurant on the outside, and looks like a tiny old diner on the inside. 3/5 for ambiance. The food however was gorgeous! Presentation was beautiful and pricing was excellent. I will say... I wish their menu had pics and descriptions as some of their names were unfamiliar. -Pad thai ($12) was a solid 4.5/5. Heavy on the sweetness and featured thin noodles. The chicken had a distinct marinade that I wasn't a huge fan of, but still very tasty! -Khao krug kapi ($14) 4.5/5. A flavor BOMB! It was genuinely delicious, but very.... heavy on the fish sauce(??) I can't distinguish exactly what it was, but I could only eat a little at a time. I think it would benefit from a higher vegetable ratio to balance the heavy flavors. Again, still yummy and worth a try! I had plenty for leftovers the next day which I added more veg to and it was fantastic. Overall, still very excited to come back and try their other offerings! Thanks Chapter Two

Is this place even real? It doesn't seem possible in this day and age to find a restaurant that serves authentic, flavorful, aesthetic, and veggie friendly dishes crafted with love and care for-- no joke, about $10 per plate?!! I was blown away with my experience at Chapter Two tonight. It's 5 minutes from the gym and I was hungry so I pretty randomly decided on this place. The exterior is really unassuming. It looks a little run down and the place is smaller than the Mochinut across the street. Don't let this dissuade you, because the food is otherworldly good. The interior of the restaurant is pretty small, but it's cute and kitschy. There was no wait time on a Thursday evening, and service was prompt and super sweet and friendly. Food came out fast and was the best Thai food I've ever had. Each plate was flavorful, fresh, and generously seasoned. I love that dishes include a choice of protein for no up charge. That meant I could get tofu and make my meal veg friendly. The food is so cute and aesthetic. Many of the plates feature floral garnishes and beautiful colors (blue rice, blue rice noodles in the spring rolls). The chef makes not just food, but beautiful works of art. Appetizers and dessert are under $10 and entrees are about $15-$18. It's unbelievable. I'm not sure how this place has managed to stay open for a decade in this economy with these prices but I'm so glad they're still here. One thing I would suggest is better menus. They are a bit sparse and I think it'd be helpful to be able to read short descriptions of each dish. Some items are traditional Thai dishes that I have to google (a little hard because spellings differ) and some are just kind of mysterious ("chicken slammers" ?). Also, I was pleasantly surprised that there were different choices of protein. I found that out when the server asked me. It might be nice for customers to be able to see on the menu what's available for each dish before they order. Overall, 10000/10 for this place. I'll be back-- probably no less than once a week! If you're in the area, please swing by and give this wonderful restaurant a try. Thank you to the staff at Chapter Two for an incredible night of great food!

Been wanting to try this place for some time. Unfortunate that they are closed during the weekends because this Thai restaurant is now my new favorite spot! Every dish we ordered exceeded our expectations. All perfectly savoring, not too sweet, not too salty...just right. Small and cozy. Limited seating indoors and outdoors. Either go in early or do take outs. Friendly servers. Had the chance to meet the chef. She said they plan on opening weekends soon. I really hope they do!! Cuz you've won my heart :D

The first time I came to chapter two was back in 2021 during COVID era. Since then, this place has had major changes and upgrades, all for the better! This has become my favorite hidden gem, I hope it does not get too popular, just so that I don't have to wait in a line haha. Food: came back this time with my boyfriend and other work friends, we ordered various dishes, mostly vegetarian since one of the group members did not eat meat or seafood. Every dish was simply amazing and bursting with flavor. Crying tiger steak was maybe a little overcooked and slightly dry, but the wrapped sticky rice was delicious. Drunken noodle had packed umami flavor, pumpkin curry had a slight kick to it, and the pumpkin was a joy to dig into. Pineapple fried rice was both savory and sweet, I couldn't stop my spoon from going that direction. Price: most dishes ranged around $12-14, but some other specialty dishes went up to $18-19. Even so, I'd say the costs are fairly reasonable for the quality food we got. FYI, they charge about 3% extra if you pay with card, seems like they prefer cash. Ambiance: the restaurant is located right on the side of big street Redlands Blvd. There are about 2 tables outside on patio and only about 4 tables inside, fairly small place. But the interior is colorful and cozy and cute, the dishes are also presented so well and cute too! Service: great service, our server was not quiet fluent in English, but she still was able to answer our questions and gave awesome recommendations Parking: there is a small parking lot associated with the restaurant structure, had no trouble finding a spot on a weekday lunch time.

Thai food is all about Redlands and Loma Linda and Chapter Two apparently had a whole makeover, not that I'd know. It's a tiny space inside but it's nice and quaint, and the menu's a very fair price. Drunken noodles, pumpkin curry, pineapple fried rice, and crying tiger (sort of like a steak dish with sticky rice) all made for a pretty solid meal. Flavors are popping, portions are plenty, and taste buds are pleasured. Is there any major distinction that sets Chapter Two apart from other Thai restaurants? The menu's definitely more intriguing with ingredients that just work well. So yeah, this is worth a visit or four.

An unexpected find, but this is now my favorite Thai restaurant. Despite the restaurant itself looking a little old and maybe even a little shabby, the dishes were beautiful and plated artfully. They resemble dishes from much pricier places, so the affordability here really surprised me. I don't think my pictures do them justice at all. Anyhow, the food was excellent. I wasn't sure what the chicken slammers would be like when I ordered them, but they were delicious (and there were way more than I thought there would be!). I also ordered the pad thai, which was an amazing mix of sweet and savory, and the mango sticky rice, which came with purple rice and strawberry. On a second visit, ordering takeout, I ordered the Chinese broccoli. I don't have a picture of it, but this dish was too oily-- It was a lot heavier than the other dishes I had at the restaurant in person, but it could be an issue with the different plating. Still, not a big deal, and it did taste really good. I'll definitely be back!

Word on the street, chapter two got a new chef? I left feeling content and happy. That's what matters the most! Small area with limiting seats, but waiters/waitress are quick to serve. Chef came out to say hello for each table. Drinks were pretty but taste was eh-okay. I like how they served Thai food that you don't normally see in a typical Thai restaurant. All of the food that we ordered were delish. Usually chicken dish has a little "smelly" taste, but this one didn't! Will return.

I went on a Friday night and luckily it wasn't too busy, my friend and I were seated right away! Our server and one other server were very kind! Food also came out quickly and prices are fair. I got the khao soi with tofu. It wasn't on the menu but I had seen it on yelp so asked about it. Good broth, just wish there was more. Tofu was good too. Noodles were a little stuck together, but still good. Big portion size, I had enough to take home for a second meal! I also got the mango sweet rice to take home. Beautiful presentation. Mango was good but a little fiber-y, might be in its off season. Purple rice was used so it has a little more texture. Perfect Asian dessert - not too sweet!

Wooow! For such a small place surprisingly upscale offerings. Delicious, fresh, and invigorating food served with a beauty reserved for the best! Hoping to get a full meal here soon as I stopped in for dessert, never been so sad to pass up a meal!

This is the best restaurant in Redlands and Loma Linda hands down. Every single dish was prepared with care and you could tell the Chef truly cared and loved this food. The dishes were all plated very aesthetically and the dishes we ordered were all less than 15 dollars. You're not only getting quality, but you're also getting quantity here. It's a no brainer. We tried the slammers chicken, the pad Thai and the drunken noodles and each one of them was flavorful and was not too heavy. For desert, we got the mango sticky rice which my friend said was one of the best that she's ever had. Even though it was not mango season when we came, the mango was still very sweet. The staff was also attentive and friendly. It feels like you're eating in your mom's kitchen and it truly felt like we were at home. This is the underrated gem, and we will be sure to come back to try other things on the menu. We recommend everyone come before they end up on the Michelin list.

And OH.MY.GAWD. the food. We literally got the most basic dish - pad Thai and simply the best we've ever had anywhere (and we've had it everywhere) ! Not too spicy, not too sweet. Just a delicate balance of every flavor. The tom kha soup was also superb - again, not overly spicy or sweet, very warming. The ingredients were all super fresh, crisp vegetables and tender beef and chicken. And OH the fried tofu!!! How do they get that breading so fine!? What a texture ! We rarely get desert but we were seduced by the black sesame mochi in ginger tea - and I'm so glad because it would have been a terrible shame to miss this extraordinary treat! Soft, crunchy, lightly sweet, deep umami and even the ginger tea was wonderfully rich. EDIT: I was so thrilled with their delicate flavors, I forgot to mention the presentation - above and beyond what I've experienced in other Thai restaurants, especially for pad Thai. Everything was thoughtfully presented, arranged to highlight colors, on lovely flatware. I can't wait to come back and try literally EVERYTHING on their menu!!
