This local restaurant is a hidden gem! My husband and I have tried a lot of their dishes, but I'll break down our favorite go tos: Panko chicken salad Steak salad Egg rolls Cream cheese wontons R Thai fried rice AND basil fried rice Drunken noodles Mango sticky rice Needless to say, those are enough items to give you an idea of how much we've enjoyed this spot. All dishes have been great and we just keep on coming back. Not only does R Thai ensure every dish is flavorful but also really healthy and packed with veggies. (Don't count the egg rolls or cream cheese wontons lol) I love the salad dressing on the chicken salad. Gives that sweet and savory taste I look for on my dishes. The chicken is crispy and fried to perfection and you get plenty of veggies on your salad with crispy and fresh lettuce, cucumbers and tomatoes. The steak salad gets a lot of its juice from the warmth of the steak and the veggies. If you don't like your veggies being hot maybe this isn't the OG salad you'd enjoy. For me, it's a great take on a non traditional salad. The R Thai with pork or basil rice are both also non traditional fried rice that I've truly enjoyed. A great twist while appreciating a lot of the flavors. The place is kind of small and cozy. I love the vibes and the staff is great. Front staff is attentive and very welcoming. It seems like more people do take out from here. I tried their combo chow mein, egg rolls, and Thai tea. I ordered a side of white rice, but it never made it to me. Other than that, the service was good. The food was good too but wasn't as favorable or tasty as I'm used to. But to their defense, Thai food is my favorite, so I'm incredibly picky. I was craving spicy eggplant and decided to order from here - literally so good, I went back two days later to eat it again. R Thai underwent a change in management, new staff, new menu and nothing was posted on the door or windows of the restaurant, nothing posted on the website nor was it made mention verbally when placing an order over the phone. I had been going to the restaurant off/on for some years and tended to order the same menu items. One day, I called to place an order over the phone for pickup, named off the dishes I wanted, and the person who took the order repeated it back to make sure it was correct. The person did not say they were under new ownership and had a new menu, it wasn't until I went to the restaurant to pick up my order and noticed that it was in fact not the same dishes as I had previously ordered under the old owner. I looked at the dishes and made a complaint on the spot about the dishes. Person refused to issue a refund and proceeded to be show me a new menu and explain that the dishes are how they prepare them, they didn't know anything about the old menu, that they have a new staff and is under new ownership. Since it was at restaurant closing time, I was forced to leave, the staff was rude, non-cooperative and did not want to take back the food and issue a refund to make it right for their deligience. They are deceiving people by not posting and revealing this information upfront. They are legally required to inform the public, which they failed to do. They are using the same name R Thai, but the food is definitely not the same. Beware! read more

The lunch special at this newly rebranded spot convinced us to try it. Lunch Specials included a scoop of rice, side salad and entree. my son tried yellow curry with chicken. My husband had pad thai and I went with Nam Tok salad which cost around $15. The lunch specials were average/good. The spice level was very low but we did not ask for adjustments. My Nam Tok salad was delish! The juicy perfectly seasoned steak was the star. I am glad I tried this today over larb. They got the medium seasoning right I saw actual red peppers and spicy basil. I have gotten carry out from this restaurant a few times with my coworkers and they package the food well for big orders; everything is labeled and packaged individually. It's not my favorite Thai restaurant, but it's decent. I would recommend the green curry and the fried rice. You can upgrade your side of white rice to fried rice for a buck and it's 100% worth it; probably my favorite item there! The green curry was pretty good too, but I didn't like that the tofu in it was fried (at least I think it was fried, it looked like it). The stir fried green beans were pretty plain, as you would expect, but it's definitely a healthier/lighter option (aside from the rice that comes with it. LOL). The Tom Yum soup was my least favorite of all. First off, their menu says the price is $6.95 for a small soup with tofu, and I was charged $8.95 and they literally gave me half a cup! Aside from that, as soon as I took off the lid I got a whiff of it and instantly knew it was not going to taste great. This place is slowly declining in qaulity and quantity. While the taste is still to point, there are many things that are have become unsatisfactory. The service has become much slower at lunch. The servers basically ignore you and you have to flag them down to take an order. They forgot about the salad thay came with the lunch special and there is no longer has a soup option. The portions have decreased in size to the point where you are hungry soon after. The expected costs have increased as many places have increased price over the past 2 years, where you no longer feel like it is a good deal. It might be time to find a new thai place. read more

Came here with my boyfriend and his friends after a long hike, although they were nice enough to let us reserve a table, they were pretty stingy with the food portions. We ordered four entrees pad see ew, pad Thai, spicy eggplant, and Mongolian beef. The one that really underwhelmed us was the Mongolian beef or more like Mongolian onions because as you can see in the picture, they served us a plate of mostly onions. I ordered boat noodle with big flat noodle. Beef was tender and soup is on sweet side. Spicy level was mild, I added vinegar to help with sweet side. My daughter and I ate at R Thai and we loved it. The flavors of the food are rich and very fresh. I had the walnut shrimp and it was so delicious. The wonton was so good and servings sizes are very generous. Oh and the restaurant was spotless and service was perfect. What happened to our favorite Thai restaurant??? Well, it has a new owner, a new manager and new cooks which is clearly NOT a good thing at this point. Please don't think of ordering the pineapple fried rice...it was supposed to have chicken, shrimp, cashews and raising (and pineapple of course). It had two shrimp, and a few tiny pieces of chicken, there were only a few broken pieces of cashews (certainly NOT like their photo) and I counted only 6 raisins. C'MON....really, for $18??????? To top it off, it had hardly any flavor. Fast forward to my favorite green curry with chicken. To be fair, the amount of chicken was reasonable but the entire to go box of curry had RED something over the top of the green curry. I tasted it and it was CHILI POWDER!!!!! .....really, they just poured chili powder on top rather than be bothered to mix it in? Then, my friend's favorite curry was very watery and had to be mixed with rice. What a sad thing......we both question why we would return when we used to get "to go" orders almost every week.
