I have been coming to Charcoal N Chill for over three years, including before the current management took over. Over that time, I've had many great experiences here and have recommended the place to numerous friends and family members. Unfortunately, my most recent experience left me disappointed. A couple of weeks ago, I was invited to attend a Friday evening event. I arrived as I normally would, only to discover there was a cover charge and a bouncer at the entrance. The cover charge itself was not the issue. What bothered me was how I was treated. During the interaction, the bouncer physically pushed me away from the entrance. I found that completely unnecessary and disrespectful. As a result, I asked to speak with the owner or someone from management because I did not feel comfortable discussing the situation with the bouncer, especially given how I had been treated. To my surprise, I was told that the owners had asked me to Zelle the cover charge. To be clear, I was never asking for a discount, exemption, or special treatment. I was simply trying to address the way I had been treated at the door and have a conversation with management. Over the years, I have spent a considerable amount of time and money at this establishment and have actively supported it by bringing many guests. I never expected preferential treatment because of that. What I do expect, however, is to be treated with basic respect and dignity. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This review is not about the food, hookah, ambiance, or service inside the lounge, all of which I have genuinely enjoyed for years.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It is about a customer experience and the choices made by management in handling that situation. A long-time customer who has consistently supported the business should not be made to feel dismissed or disrespected. I thought about this for more than ten days before posting because I genuinely enjoyed this place and did not want to leave a negative review. However, the experience stayed with me. Since then, I have stayed away despite having been a regular visitor. I sincerely hope management takes feedback like this seriously. This place is honestly one of me and my friends favorite spots to go to. Last night was my first time here and I must say I was impressed! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was very nice and cozy (which was great on a chilly January night) and gave me and my girls great vibes to end our night with.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Lee was our server and she was so exceptional I have to give her 5 stars as well. We didn't order any food, but omg it smelled so good when it was being delivered to the other guests, so I'm positive we'll order some next time. Love this place! Visiting in town this week and was delighted to find a local hookah spot with comfy couches (not those rigid uncomfortable ones in most other hookah lounges). The food was delicious and homemade. I recommend both of the desserts, Ras Malai and Gab Jamun. The employees Simi and Alina were extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Love this place! Food is amazing, the sheesh tawook chicken is my favorite but if you want to try some of everything get the mixed platter. Drinks are always great and they have tons if shisha flavors for hookah. Prices are also very reasonable and everyone here is always extremely friendly and welcoming. My second time here I brought my bestie and they were having karaoke night. Got to watch her embarrass herself to a Spice Girls song. Great experience every time. Hidden gem! If you find this place, you are in luck. They have only been open a month now, I hope they stay! I originally tried going next door to cigar lounge, but they were closed so I popped in here instead. I'm happy I found this place right up the street from my house! Google shows it is only open until 12am, however, they are open until 2am. Food service until 1am. 7 days a week! This place does not show up when you search for restaurants or bars in area. The real name is Dave's Kitchen- they are working to get name changed. Food is 10/10! I had the Lamb chops and they are nothing like I've ever had before. Soooo yummy! I forgot to take a picture it was so good. Abdul is amazing in the kitchen! Quick service, my food came out less than 10min after ordering. I've met the owner, Dave, he is a sweetheart.
