Salmon filet. You can tell how dark it was while we ate.

It was easy to purchase tickets online a few days ahead. We were told the doors opened an hour before the show, but when we arrived about 40 minutes before showtime it turned out that they were not ready for guests until 30 minutes before the show. So we wandered down the row of shops while we waited. The interior is not large. It was dimly light and cozy. Several small tables for four and a few easy chairs and sofas to perch on. The stage was at the back, kitchen and restrooms behind a curtain beside the stage, and bar near the entrance. My friends and I ordered drinks and meals. The menu has a page of wine and cocktails and a few beers that were not interesting to me. A better selection of local brews would be great. Soft drinks were also available, but it was $3 for bottled water so we passed on that. I had the Lemon Drop and enjoyed the sweet and sharp flavor. For food, I had the salmon filet served on a mound of rice and plated over some green leaves. It was too dark to identify the leaves, maybe kale? Or collard? I thought the salmon was very good, cooked skin on with a peppery sear on the top. I appreciate the dark moody atmosphere but it was so dark it was difficult to see the food. My friends had the crab cakes, hummus, and flatbread. They thought their food was good too. The show was great. It was about 90 minutes of music without a break. Piano, drums, vocalist who knew how to get the crowd involved. She walked into the audience, got random people to sing the chorus, and other random people to dance. I thought she was excellent. At the end, staff brought electronic payment boxes to the table but didn't ask about splitting the check so my friends had to pay for my meal and I'll need to fix that with them later. I might have ordered a second drink during the show if staff had asked. Since I was sitting in a corner I could not easily get to the bar. I also noticed that the entrance got very crowded with people trying to exit while the next set of guests for the later show were standing in the doorway. Overall I would definitely go again for the music. The show was fantastic and the clubby atmosphere very attractive. I might get dinner somewhere else before the show and just have a drink or two here.

This is a very intimate jazz club with a full bar, a small stage and they serve what looked like good food. I bought tickets (reasonably priced by the way) for a show they were having and got there 15 mins before the show started... the place was packed and the only seats left were to the right of the stage behind the band and in the way of everyone coming out of the back. Lesson learned... get here earlier for better seats! The show was outstanding! The singer was superb, the sound was excellent, and my date and I completely enjoyed the evening... dispute the not so great seats. We had eaten before we came so we didn't try the food but it smelled and looked good. We also did not have any drinks... but they were flowing for others. We just enjoyed the music and atmosphere which were abundantly good! It is a small intimate venue... with a huge sound. I can't wait to go back again!

Lovely music and atmosphere north of the city. Location and Parking Located in Alpharetta, plenty of free parking is available. Venue and Atmosphere Velvet Note bills itself as an intimate venue, and they are correct: it feels as if you've entered someone's living room. There are tables, couches, and chairs in every nook and cranny, including a row of chairs and tables along the wall leading to the kitchen (behind a curtain). Yet the space never feels crowded and there is indeed enough legroom for all guests to relax. There are no bad seats, and the music isn't too loud. Service and Performances Beverage Service was prompt, courteous, and efficient. The drinks themselves were not the best, but that's not what we are here for. The performers and musicians were true professionals, delivering song after song with immersive instrumentation and the famous jazz ad-libs. After the show, we spoke briefly with the headliners and musicians, who are just as personable off stage. Verdict I would definitely return for another performance.

Food, Music, and Vibe. I went to this spot to just switch it up and I was pleasantly surprised . I had a great meal with great service and great music. The dark living room feel is just right for the music it was delivering while I ate the vegan lasagna not the best but it was an option . The music was very stellar and I liked how they weren't holding back in their second show of the night . I truly enjoyed it . A must go for great jazz music and great service and vibes with jazz greats also playing some of the greats

I came here twice. Once on the 19th and then once on the 26th and I'm definitely a fan. The Velvet note has been on my list to go to for such a long time and I just haven't had a chance to go. Finally during the holidays I thought that it would be a great time to see what the Velvet note was offering. I wasn't disappointed. Getting tickets is super easy from their website and so for both showings I bought it ahead of time. Both shows were great though. The one on the 19th was a lot busier than the 26th but both of the shows were very enjoyable. It seems that for both shows had two showings, so usually is the shows are about an hour and a half. If you're looking for an hour and a half show and something that won't dominate your night this should definitely be on your list and is a perfect after dinner date. I didn't eat here, but I did have drinks and it was alright. The space is a bit tight in busier showings, keep that in mind especially because of COVID and now the new variant. Overall, Velvet note is awesome and will definitely recommend on a relatively empty night or whenever the pandemic is really over...but when is it and we're going to have to live eventually right?

The music was awesome, and the drinks were great. However, the venue could use upgrades and minor changes that improve the experience.
