I came for ramen. I left questioning every instant ramen decision I've ever made. The broth tasted like someone actually cared about making it instead of just adding hot water and hope. The noodles had the perfect texture, the pork was incredibly tender, and every bite somehow got better than the last. I finally understand why people get obsessed with ramen. The atmosphere was just as good as the food. Modern, energetic, and somehow cozy all at the same time. The staff was friendly, the service was quick, and everything felt like a restaurant that genuinely takes pride in what they do. The environment was very polarizing. The tables were smushed close together (less than a foot between our table and the next) and there was an open wall to the kitchen, so you heard the noises from the kitchen. I wasn't a fan, but I didn't take off any stars for it, since it's just preference and some people might like that. One thing I am taking a star for is the fact that the staff would all randomly yell in unison (like a cult) periodically throughout the meal. We asked our waiter at the end of our meal, and he said they yelled "welcome" in Japanese whenever a new patron walked in. To clarify, they didn't even look at the person entering when they did this, nor did they explain the term to anyone. Just the whole kitchen and staff yelling a random Japanese word periodically throughout the meal. Service was fast, we ordered at 6pm and received our food at 6:10. Waters refilled within 5-10 minutes of being empty. I ordered the JINYA chicken ramen (pictured), with low spice. The broth and noodles were delicious but the chicken didn't seem like it was seasoned at all. My sister had Tankatsu ramen red with 3/10 spice, she liked it. Came back to visit our friends in Alpharetta and decided to go back to Jinya Ramen Bar and as before we're not disappointed. As before 3 of the 4 of our group had the Spicy Creamy V Ramen with chicken and all said it was fantastic. For myself, I tried the Spicy Chicken Ramen with chicken and my bowl was also fantastic! The service was spot on and the ambience is very chill & friendly. This time we had to sit at a high top in the bar area which was fine as it gave plenty of room for the meals and adult beverages. We enjoyed the good portion sizes. More than enough to be able to eat in one go or take some leftovers home. The prices could be a bit lower but with the location of the restaurant Im not really surprised. The wonton ramen was not flavorful. If I wasnt looking I wouldnt know what I was eating. The original 2010 was over flavored with fish sauce and seasoning but this could also be upto one's personal preference. The thicker noodles were great though. The creamy tonkatsu was my favorite if it was not spicy. Again this is upto ones personal preference. The restaurant is well visited. Been craving Ramen, which is hard to find in vegan form where we live. So, traveling allows for more exploration and options. Their menu photo on Yelp showed gluten free noodles, but their in person menu did not have that option. I inquired and was told the rice noodles are made with no gluten ingredients but are boiled in the same water as gluten noodles. That is usually ok for me so I ordered them. Our server was being trained and I assume it was one of his first days, as his trainer had to intercede several times and explain to us what he was saying. Hopefully it's only up from here for him! We ordered the edamame and it had very little salt on it, but when it was dropped off we were told we could ask for more salt. We didn't bother and I don't think we even finished them. We ordered the creamy vegan ramen. It was just "ok". It was very very salty and didn't have a lot of umami compared with many versions I've had. When we arrived we were put on a waiting list with a couple people in front of us. By the time we left the line was out the door. It was very traditional sushi bar decorated with booths and tables. We always have a wonderful time here and are provided with great service. It can be a bit slow when they are very busy but that's to be expected. We appreciate when our server isn't coming to check on us 17 times during out food so that we can enjoy the food and the company. They recently-ish changed their menu and took away the quinoa salad which is sad because now they don't offer any good lettuce, veggie, nutrition packed salad. I always get the spicy chicken ramen with medium spicy and broccolini on the side. Sometimes the broccolini can be burnt, though. Although parking can be limited, I've learned it's usually best to just park in the parking deck behind (near the library). They even have some summer specials including cold ramen and refreshing drinks like the watermelon delight or the cucumber chiller. They have a long list of toppings you can add to your ramen such as seasoned egg, spicy bean sprouts, or bok choy, etc., and their seaweed salad is a great starter! Went for the second time and it was as delicious as the first time. I loved what I ordered the first time so why change it up. I added a better pic of the pork bun in the photos. Both times it was crowded which screams "super yummy food". Great ambiance, lively and great service. Free parking garage. Consistent and delicious! JINYA is a great place to grab ramen in downtown Alpharetta! It's located in a bustling area that's really walkable and right in the heart of downtown, with lots of things to do. The ambiance is super chill and trendy, and the staff are friendly! My favorite dish there has got to be one of their appetizers, the JINYA bun! The pork inside simply melts in your mouth with the delicious aioli and crisp lettuce, and the bao is just so soft and pillowy. Their ramen is top notch as well and portions are great! It can be super busy on weekend nights, but it's worth the wait. My partner and I joined the wait list and ended up waiting longer than the projected window, but it was no big worry since we just went to have a drink next door while we waited. Typically the wait times are equal or lesser than projected, so they can be relied on. The food is phenomenal (and reheats well) with very large portions and a lot of options. A restaurant that we frequent regularly unfortunately was quite disappointing today. I commonly order the kids chicken meal with no problem but today they considered it unacceptable. The waitress told me she had to ask the manager then the manager looked at me funny and said that meal is for kids. He then said he would ask the GM. If my mom didn't absolutely love Jinya's ramen I would never go back to this location. The one in Sandy springs is more forgiving. The server practically ignored us. Our food constantly sat at the service window. A couple dishes actually came out cold, and when I complained the manager just said to be patient. Seriously y'all get a 0 in service! Honestly the day we went my table was the only table of color. I hate to make it a race thing, but our server actually smiled at all her other tables and even though we were ahead the other tables. The other tables got served their food first. I swear if it weren't for my mom's birthday I'd left. Lets talk about the food now. 1) The jalapeño corn came so freaking late, that the hot plate the corn was on lost its sizzle. I didn't enjoy it. It was so bad cold greasy, and tasteless. I didn't even want a picture. 2) The vegan ramen was great & packed with flavor. The chili oil was the piece de resistance! Vegan ramen came luke warm & Kae Dama noodles sat at the window by the time it came the broth and noodles turned cold 3) The chicken wonton ramen came luke warm. It needed more spice, the broth was your standard shoyu broth. The ramen came so late the wontons did start to get soggy. 4) The kids meal Karage was great, nice and juicy. Would be better if it came warm. The kids ramen was again cold, but your standard shoyu broth. The kids chasu rice bowl was wet soggy and not warm. But it had a nice flavor. 5) the only I wont complain about is the tako yaki, maybe because it was the only thing that came warm. The flavors were there, the generous amount of sauce. The outer ball shell was nice and crispy. Honestly if this came cold it would've gotten soggy and straight up nasty. The best part of this was the cream on the bottom of the Tako Yaki. 6) Carmel Pana cotta, this came via manager so the ice cream didn't melt thankfully. The toffee sponge pieces were quite peculiar, but I enjoyed the flavor with the caramel and ice cream. I'd like to clarify, that the taste of the food was purely an solely affected by the terrible server, who brought it to us late and cold. I am sure the chefs at Jinya are very skilled and talented.
