One experienced dentist interviewed and found my pain, X-ray, and back to me with a plan from cost to time to procedure overview. Both brothers by the way. Entire direct family are the staff. . This is a family owned and employed. They are all very kind and sweet they just took out one of my wisdom teeth in about 20 seconds with 30 minutes of clear communication while making me feel comfortable. I didn't even know they were done he started talking to me about ibuprofen and what the next day or two would be like. They spent more time making sure that I was not nervous and how things were going to happen this is after living with pain for over four weeks and I'm new to the area and I will go back and tell all my family and friends about this dentist practice or team/family on a scale of 1 to 10 I give them a 20 - hands down the best in my 56 years. I do not recommend this dentist office. The dentist who did my dental exam, Dr. Vivianna Hewitt,…read moredid not seem competent, nor did the office seem professional. Dr. Hewitt's proposed work for my teeth was excessive and unjustified. She quoted me almost $10,000 worth of treatments (or $16,000 without my EPO insurance plan discounts). The recommended work included 7 new crowns, although I had been getting regular cleanings and dental exams from a very competent dentist previous to my visit with her. She spent a long time reviewing the x-rays and photos of my teeth by herself in her office, while I waited by myself in an exam room. It would have been more appropriate for her to review them for the first time in my presence. She never introduced herself to me; I had not known that there was a dentist other than Dr. Destler who worked there. During my dental exam, she made derogatory comments about some of my existing dental work, which had been completed by very competent dentists. She mentioned replacing some of my existing dental work, because it was "old". The quote that was later provided was for replacing my existing old fillings with crowns. In addition, she said that three of my front teeth might need to be crowned due to a small cavity on each and because my front teeth were "thin". At this point she lost all credibility with me, the small cavities on my front teeth were repaired with composite fillings some time ago. Composite fillings are not new technology. The x-rays indicated that I needed a root canal, but I would never trust her to do anything other than clean my teeth. By the time that she was done with my exam, I was not convinced that she actually had a dental license (she does...I checked). She handed a long list of recommended dental work to the office manager, who then tried to pressure me into scheduling the work with their office, as follows: "Sit down and let's schedule the work. The root canal is urgent". This was quite presumptuous. A dental office should ask the patient if they would like to schedule the work, not demand that they schedule it. Per the ADA Code of Professional Conduct, "the dentist has a duty to respect the patient's rights to self-determination". Later, I saw another dentist in order to get a second opinion, even though it meant I had to pay out of pocket for the exam because 6 months hadn't passed since the previous exam. The second dentist agreed that I needed a root canal, but said that I didn't need to replace any of my existing dental work. In addition, both this dentist and the endodontist office stated that the root canal wasn't "urgent", since I wasn't in any pain.

I used to go to a biological dentist and then financially needed to switch to one who would directly bill my insurance. I was really happy with the cost and the quality of care. I didn't even feel like I was sacrificing anything. Dr. Ross was very knowledgeable and understanding about holistic lifestyles and concerns I had, which I deeply appreciated. He presented me with multiple options to choose from and shared the pros and cons of each. He was also the only dentist I found in the area who was willing to clean my teeth without X-rays during pregnancy. Then we scheduled the X-rays and other work postpartum, and everything worked out great. Clean office. Not that it matters, but the decorations are great and it's a peaceful atmosphere. I found him to be arrogant and disrespectful…read more He humiliated me in front of his staff by shrugging his shoulders after I asked him what could be done about the ill fitting bridge he placed in my mouth! When I explained I had been biting my tongue and my cheek, he told me "that's a soft tissue issue" and told me to go to a periodontist! From the minute he placed this bridge, I told him it was too big! It was uncomfortable and I felt like I had a wad of gum behind my front teeth, and it even flew out of my mouth at a Christmas party last year! I waited six months to see if it felt any better and when it did not, I went to another dentist for a consultation. He agreed the bridge did not fit well and even contacted Dr. Babbitt to see if he would refund my money so it could be done properly. Dr. Babbitt refused to give even a partial refund and believed his work was perfect. Now, almost one year later, I need a root canal on one of the abutment teeth because the bridge does not fit right and bacteria made its way inside. I have been in excruciating pain for two weeks now as I try to gather the money for a root canal and another bridge. Lastly, my roots were exposed and I noticed they were discolored. I was told by Dr. Babbitt this was caused by brushing too hard and that it was just discoloration. I was NEVER told that what was actually happening was that my roots were decaying due to dry mouth caused by daily use of Flonase! He even said that because you couldn't see my gums when I smile, it isn't something that needed to be fixed. Had he emphasized that my roots were decaying at an alarming rate and I would need to fix the problem sooner than later, I would have made that priority and NOT gotten the bridge that I really didn't need. Base your decision to see this dentist with whatever information you have, but beware that this could happen to you too, so choose wisely.
