I received a Charles Scott "complimentary cut" card in the mail upon moving to the area this summer. As a military spouse, one of the hardest things to do when moving is track down a new stylist, but I figured if it was complimentary I should give it a shot. The atmosphere in the salon was wonderful, the front desk attendants were polite and friendly, and my cut by Molly was the best one I've probably ever received. NEVER BEEN SO DISAPPOINTED!! Dont go to "master sylist "Antoinette. I had a gift card & decided to use it. I made an appt for a cut & to have my blond ombre redone. When I went to pay for my cut & color, I was floored. I have always went to higher end salons like studio palmieri & color nation.. the total here was $220!!!! Even after my giftcard I paid more than I ever had in my life!! You know why? They paired me w/ a "master stylist" & the receptionist had THE NERVE to say well next time ask for a less expensive stylist so this doesn't happen. I NEVER ASKED FOR THE MASTER!!ARE YOU CRAZY? Here's the best part, my cut was uneven & the "master stylist" cut pretty much all the blond off! Looked like frosted tips! So I called them & wrote the manager an email about this. I went back to have my hair fixed by another girl who was VERY NICE. It gets better; she only had time to fix the cut. They wanted me to come in a THIRD time in a week to redo color. I live 30 min away, which I did explain. AGAIN the receptionist was rude! She told me what I want & what I asked for were different. I already had blond in my hair. I asked to go 1 shade lighter..I told the stylist 3TIMES because she kept asking before she started. The receptionist went on & on just to tell me she can't do any refunds. I would have to come back anyway! I said part of it was credit so no I don't. I went home & wrote another email to the manager that was on vacation. She did respond saying she was sorry. In the end though I spent $30 gc, $190, plus $37 in tips! They never gave me any sort of refund. I guess they needed it to pay their over priced rent! read more

We spent 10 minutes talking about color(s), the struggles of previous hair cuts, colors, styling issues, etc. We looked at a few photos of the "kind" of look I wanted. She nailed it! Have been getting my hair done there for awhile, called to schedule an appointment and my regular stylist was booked so somebody else did the root touch up and decided to show off and color the rest of my hair....well, my hair turned purple. I guess the 15 year color veteran with lots of attitude doesn't know how to color. Spent 9 hours between 2 days to get the hair to an acceptable color. Hair is damaged. Stylist didn't even apologize. Not worth it! I am new in town and wanted to try a different nail salon. I had a gel manicure already from another place, so I wanted that removed and get just a manicure. When I called , the receptionist asked if I got my gel there I said no, and she said ok. Once I got to my appointment, the reception was cold, and Stephanie, my manicurist was very rude, and seemed to be having a really bad day or something. She didn't ask if I wanted anything to drink, she was just RUDE! As I went to go pay they said it cost 20 dollars for the removal!! I don't know if it's just me but that seems like a lot! And I feel like when I called to make my appointment they should have stated the cost. So I spent 45 dollars for a manicure and I didn't even get a hand massage, urgh! The service was horrible and I really hope they evaluate their consumer service policies! read more

I recently had my hair styled for engagement pictures. I had scheduled a shampoo/blow dry and hot tools styling. Once I was in the chair, the stylist informed me she only had me scheduled for a shampoo/blow dry. I was immediately disappointed. I was hoping for a morning of pampering prior to pictures, but I felt rushed out of the chair so quickly, I didn't even know what happened. The stylist made me feel as she was just looking to "check me off" of her schedule. Unfortunately, my hair didn't last either. I was disappointed for sure, and I would be hesitant to recommend this salon. read more

I am very happy with this salon. It's not cheap but you get what you pay for which is quality service. I go regularly for three different services. First, Stephanie does a wonderful job with my shellac nails and my pedicures. I always get compliments on my nails and she keeps my feet soft and free of ingrown toenails that I used to suffer from. Plus she's fun to chat with. I always enjoy my time with her. Second, I see Melissa for my hair. She cuts and highlights my hair monthly. She listens to what I want as well as suggesting other things to try. But I always get what I ask for. Love it! Third, I see Denise R. for massages. She has magic hands and always makes me feel better. She concentrates on your problem areas as well as giving a great overall massage. I look forward to that appointment every month. Finally, I have never had anything but professional and curteous assistance from the receptionist. I always feel welcomed and well helped when I am there. I went in to have my hair "fixed" due to a disaster of a haircut at another salon. In short, I had a scissor happy stylist at another salon who ravaged my very long waist length, thick, naturally wavy hair. I was in tears - a big shout out to Loretta or the "fixer" as I have nicknamed her. She was able to spare some length where anyone else would have just cut it to the shortest "hole" and I mean holes all over. Ironically the haircut at the disaster area was more expensive than Charles Scott. At this point, however, I don't care how much it costs - I'll be going back to her. I've been going to estheticians at top salons in Washington, DC, Ann Arbor, and Pittsburgh the last ten years, and Claudia is the best of the rest. She always makes her customers feel beautiful. I go to Claudia for eyebrow waxes, Brazilian waxes, and facials - the service each time is exceptional. I regularly got bikini or Brazilian waxes, but I had never had one pain (or bump) free - until Claudia. She's just the right balance of professional and personal. read more

Very disappointed in pedi recv'd from C.S. Crocker Park. Toe polish chipped within 2 days for both, my sister and myself. I went back a week later for repair. They repolished three nails, however, other nails chipped within two weeks. Since this is unusual for toenail polish to chip at all as confirmed by nail tech, I think they should have redone all 10 toes. Will not go back. read more

She is a younger stylist but is so very talented and knowledgeable about current styles. Randi gave me a partial blonde highlight and a haircut. My fiance bought me a gift card for the 'Time to Spare package' which includes a mini-facial, a 1-hour relaxation massage and a spa mani/pedi. I had never been here before and I used the first two services (facial/massage) last week. The receptionists were very friendly and helpful and the mini-facial was nice and relaxing and left my skin feeling fresh and tight. But, my favorite part was my massage with Melissa. She was so incredibly sweet and attentive but also strong as hell. I was worried that the "relaxation" massage would be too much fluff and not enough massage, but Melissa nailed it. It was the perfect combination of the two. She listened to everything I said before the massage and focused on the areas that were bothering me most, without leaving out any other part of my body. I felt so relaxed but also really felt like she worked out all my kinks. I don't get massages often, but I know that the next time I do, I will be calling for Melissa! read more

It had been a few years since I had been to Charles Scott in Westlake, but one thing is for sure, it has gone way downhill and the service was not what it used to be. I purchased a Spa Sampler pack with a Shellac French manicure upgrade. Becky did a wonderful job with the 1/2 hour massage, but unfortunately, that is the only positive thing I can say of the experience. As far as the facial, there were several things I was not happy with... The product line used for the facial made your face feel tacky and left a film -- I'm used to products that go on silky and make you feel clean. Brenda was a bit rough applying and wiping off the product - especially around the eye area - and got a lot of it on my hair, which made it so greasy-looking I had to wash my hair again when I got home. Brenda also did not seem to be very educated on the product --- For one example, she thinks SPF 30 means the product only protects you from the sun for 30 minutes. Then as far as the pedicure and french shellac manicure from Jen... After more than an hour allowing the polish on my toes to dry, they still smudged before the end of the day (she must not have used a fast-dry finishing product) and the white tips from the french manicure were not evenly applied --- and they've already started chipping in some areas after only one day -- Shellac is supposed to last 2 weeks. Also, normally, when I get a manicure, the nail stylist will ask several times during the process if I like the shape, polish, etc. as we go along. It seemed Jen was just trying to hurry the process to get on to her next client. Other spas I've visited have given more friendly service, making you feel special and that they appreciate your business. At Charles Scott, it felt more like being on an assembly line... even though the place was oddly quite and not very busy, especially for a Saturday. This used to be my 'go-to' salon for quality service that I would recommend to others. So disappointed to see those days are over and I do not intend to return. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars for the whole experience instead of one is because Becky, who did the massage actually deserves a higher rating. read more

A couple years ago I had my hair colored elsewhere and wasn't happy with the results. I made an appointment with Keri at Charles Scott in hopes she would fix it, and I haven't looked back since! Not only is Keri well-versed in the art of hair coloring and styling, she is one of the sweetest people I've ever met and will go above and beyond to make sure you are happy while you're in her chair AND after she works her magic on your hair. I'm actually sorry about writing this, but feel it's a must. After spending time getting my hair redone, I'm spending more time writing about it and...my hair looks worse now than it did before I went for the redo! I'm going to begin by being fair. In the last year, I've missed two appts. at this salon without cancelling...both my fault. Soooo...I call on Saturday to see if I can get in for color, cut and highlight before Thanksgiving. Vanessa, who I usually see can't get me in (two missed appts.?), but Sarah is free in 15 minutes! Yay! I go, she does her thing (uses the formula that's in the computer) and I leave happy. Once my hair dries (I have curly hair that can only air dry), I know it's too blonde. At work on Monday one of my students asks why I dyed my hair blonde over the weekend! I call the salon and say can Sarah put a few low lights in or a toner or something. 4:45 I go in. She wants to do a toner, I want low lights, but go with her "professional" recommendation. While she's "toning" my hair she starts lecturing me about the importance of keeping my next appt. with her on Dec. 20th because that's her busiest time of the year and her time is VALUABLE! I sat up and said...I just paid $175 plus a $30 tip for you to do my hair and am back here 36 hours later because I look like a platinum blonde and you want to discuss the VALUE OF TIME!!!! First of all, I had never gone to Sarah before, so right away I know there's been some chatting going on and secondly, I had to go back to Vanessa for a redo once as well. I'm so tired of service businesses putting the customer LAST! My hair currently looks like I colored it myself, solid brown...not one highlight is left! She said toning it would keep the highlights...not one! Toning it was the quickest fix for HER! read more
