Sorry this review is late in coming... Charles' Tree Service trimmed back our very old mulberry tree that had rot and over growth. We wanted to save the tree if possible. Charles returned our call promptly, gave us a very reasonable estimate, and fitted us into his busy schedule on 8/18/17. The crew came on time, worked hard and did a great job all in a day. What can I say. These guys do great work that's why I called them for a second job. I had them come out and take out two tree stumps. The one in the front of my house was small but the back one was about 6 feet tall still and three to four feet in diameter. It was hardwood too. So they had to have their guys chainsaw it first to get it down to a manageable stump and then grind it down. I've used their service before so I trusted them to do it while I was at work and they did a bang up job. Chopped it all up, hauled it away and didn't leave a gaping hole in my yard. And for a very good price. I always feel like I'm getting my money's worth with this company. You get a great value using this team. They do great work at a great price and quality and customer satisfaction are important to them. There was a slight problem with saw dust in my newly growing grass but it was quickly addressed by the owner/manager and much appreciated. All in all a terrific service that I'd highly recommend. A large branch on my neighbor's tree had cracked and a good portion of the tree had fallen down over the fence and into my yard, but was still attached to the tree. My neighbor and I both contacted a number of tree services and none of them had time to even come take a look at the tree to give a quote. The earliest anyone could come by to see it was more than 1 week away. Charles, however, came by in 10 minutes. He assessed the tree and gave a quote right away. I asked if he could do it before the week was over. He said he was busy but would see if he could move things around. He called me 30 minutes later and said he could have a crew over to handle the tree that day. The crew worked efficiently and got the job done in half a day for a good price. They left my yard and my neighbor's yard clean, with nothing broken or damaged, and everything looking great. We were extremely pleased with work we recently had performed by Charles Tree service! We needed a large, dead cottonwood tree removed from a difficult to access location but it was no problem for this group of miracle workers. The estimate from Charles was very competitive with others we received and communication about scheduling the job was excellent. The crew was fantastic and performed the job exactly as described. After getting bids from 3 tree services we opted for Charles. He was professional and friendly as was his crew. The trees his team removed were a very old pepper tree, 2 tall Italian cypresses, and a pine that was estimated to be 120 feet tall and that leaned dangerously out over the house and garage. Charles enlisted the services of John Mooring, a tree removal expert with a stellar reputation in the industry. Between Charles and John the trees were removed in 2 days without any problems. The removal of the pine required a method that guaranteed that sections of trunk, some at least 500 pounds, did not strike the house. Applying their complex technique the massive tree was removed without incident. We found the whole process so interesting, as did some of our neighbors, we set up chairs so that we could watch from a safe distance. read more

Had fruit trees that had formed a hedge, a huge plumeria hanging into the driveway, plus a pepper tree thing that had consumed a large portion of the backyard. Would I use Charles again... absolutely. I will just make sure to ask for a receipt at the time of payment. 09.13.2017 Update - I am sorry to have to do this because Charles was so responsive initially but when I paid by check I didn't get a receipt. I followed up immediately after he left (like 10 mins later) and asked for one. He said he would email it. Well... 2 months later multiple texts and calls later still no receipt. I keep getting the same "I will email it just text me your info". I am still leaving it at 2 stars vs 1 because of the initial service and speed but the consistent excuses and possible impact to me from a write-off perspective is now an issue. Charles if you see this and you have indeed emailed the receipt and I just missed it or it went into junk then I am happy to change it back to 5 stars. I contacted Charles at 8:47AM about two palm trees (20 to 25 feet high) that I needed to be removed and he arrived between 9 and 10 that same morning to provide a free estimate. He was very professional, polite, and provided an estimate that I just couldn't refuse. I don't think any other tree service would have been able to beat the estimate that was provided. Then he told me that he would be back with his crew at 1:00PM to begin the work. Just a few minutes after 1:00 they showed up, I was super pleased! We called Monday July 3rd, and Charles came out the same day to do an estimate. We were looking for him to remove two trees that were leaning over our house and fence, grind down 11 small stumps, and chip a big pile of trees that we were able to take down ourselves. First thing Wednesday morning his crew was here. We asked them to remove another tree which they were happy to do even though they hadn't originally planned on it.
