Appointment was scheduled a week in advance. When I got there, I was told my appointment was canceled due to the provider not accepting my insurance. No one called or texted to inform me about the matter prior to me walking into this appointment. A nice phone call to offer another provider under Charleston Dermatology would have been nice. But, unfortunately no one called or texted to inform me about this and when I walked in for my assumed appointment, everyone was sitting there. I made an appointment early July and finally got to the office on 02 OCT 24 only to be told that my TRICARE for LIFE insurance does not cover my visit. The person at the front desk couldn't have been any ruder and lied right to my face saying they notified me about this issue. I had received no less that 3 text from them one day before my visit confirming my visit and having me sign up for their app. I have now gone over two months without treatment for my issue because their office wasn't professional enough to notify me before my appointment date. I'm a first time mommy, mikes away from family so me and my husband are doing it all alone. Tried introducing my son who is 10 months to milk but two days later I started to see bumps around his mouth and his eczema flare and swell. Figured I'd make a dermatologist appointment as well after he sees his pediatrician this week. Front desk lady was rude, interrupted me before I could finish, and judgmental talking down on me asking me why he hasn't seen a pediatrician. At that point I didn't even want an appointment. I'm very confused because I went to them previously for my son's eczema now it's an issue? Plan on calling my insurance to switch somewhere else. I would not recommend this practice . I have tried unsuccessfully to try and make an appointment for cool sculpting and laser treatments for three days in a row . Each time I call they say someone will call you back and then they never call. When I tried to discuss this with the person that makes the appointments. she became aggravated and brushed me off by saying "We are very busy and we will get back to you in the order your call is received." If they are too busy to return phone calls, I'm wondering why they advertise these services In the first place. The feeling I got was we're not interested in your business. when I have gone to the practice in the past, the doctor and the PA seem rushed and in a hurry to get to the next patient . The office staff is not particularly friendly and they seem to just be going through the motions of their job with no enthusiasm. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Roger Sullivan at Charleston Dermatology for a few years now. I recently came in October and was disappointed that I could not take off my mask for even a moment for my doctor to examine my facial rosacea. He prescribed me medications (of which I have already tried). I know doctors are put in hard spot with COVID guidelines, but I find it hard to diagnose and treat someone's facial skin if you can't actually see it. The team at Charleston Dermatology was warm and welcoming. Dr. Sullivan was personable, compassionate, and thorough in his assessment. The practice was clean and new with plenty of parking at a convenient location. I'll be coming back for any future medical dermatology needs. I highly recommend this practice. read more

My review is for Dr. Gwynne at the Mt Pleasant location. I was 10 minutes late due to a wreck. No problem. Everyone was so nice. From start to finish I was out In 37 minutes including my exam and procedure. Dr Gwynne and her nurse were so kind and amazing. Would recommend very highly. read more

The office management and bills is absolutely horrible. My bills were coded incorrectly, they collected multiple payments from my insurance flex care spending plan and when I caught the error I had to fight with them to get them to admit they still had the funds. Finally after 2 months of calling, arguing and having to show proof of their errors, they finally cut me a check for the hundreds of $ that they never should have had. Barb was hard to get a hold of, no one in the entire office knew anything and it wasn't until I went in person that I finally got some results. Only to now, 4 months later to receive the SAME BILL THAT THEY REFUNDED ME! Save yourself the headache and go else where! Dr. Yarborough was ok though. read more

The Botox treatment here is extremely poor, it has very little effect, if anything at all. Do not waste your money on Botox at this establishment. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!! If I could give less than one star I would. I'm very saddened with the treatment I have received. It's a shame, because they are very kind here, but not when it comes to charging you for poor care. They will not rectify problems with their care. But they will gladly charge you more money to use more of their subpar Botox. They are knowledgeable and professional, and they do deserve 5 stars but in business your support staff can make or break the business and here the receptionist that answer phones are rude and not good communicators. They often hang up if they don't like the way the conversation is going and pretend there are phone issues, and they seem very false in customer care. For this reason, I give 2 stars. read more

My sister visited this location and told her account to me in absolute tears over the way she was treated at this location by the two front receptionists. My sister did not want to bring race into the conversation but after hearing the entire story it was clear. My sisters skin is black and the receptionists were white. Take that as you will. She was there with her three little girls and treated completely different from other customers. Either way, talking to customers rudely with belittling language and a "better than you" attitude is no way to treat ANY customer or patient. Never have I heard of worse service. My sister says the other staff and doctor were friendly and she told the doctor in tears how she was treated but other people need to be warned. Lexi and Lindsay are the names of the receptionists that need to give my sister a genuine apology. Management needs to be contacted and that behavior needs to be corrected if they want to keep their business. There's no excuse to speak down to people or make them come to tears. Absolutely horrified to hear there are adult bullies working in a healthcare setting. And to no surprise I see there was another review stating other bad experiences with the front reception staff. read more

Very disappointed!!! Had to wait a month and a half for an appointment, which was no problem l, I understand that for specialty doctors you might have to wait longer for an appointment. Four days before my appointment they call to inform me that my appointment has to be rescheduled not because of covid-19 but because the doctor is out of town. They offered to make an appointment with a different doctor three weeks away. I decided to just cancel my appointment. I would have thought they would be a little more accommodating since me having to reschedule was not my fault. They obviously do not care about their patients. Best experience at a dermatologist I've ever had. I have been to a total of three now trying to figure out what was wrong with my skin and Dr. Sullivan had a solution that worked right away after two other doctors failed. I am also terrified of needles and they made my biopsy easy, painless, and not scary. Will be my go-to dermatologist for everything I need in the future. Even though I was there for something else Dr. Sullivan also suggested a solution for my acne, which was awesome. Worth the 45 minute drive from my house. read more

Dr. Sperduto and his staff are fabulous. After being diagnosed with squamous skin cancer on my forehead, I was so anxious that I would have a horrible facial scar. Dr. Sperduto was calming and reassuring throughout the whole process. His surgical skills are masterful. Two weeks after my surgery (25 external stitches), the incision is barely noticeable on my forehead. More importantly, I am cancer free!!
