This is by far the absolute best med spa in all of Charleston. Please do yourself a favor and check it out!!! I have been wanting lip filler for YEARS and finally decided to have it done. I booked an appointment with Dana. She was so sweet and listened to all of my concerns. It was honestly not painful at all! She did a dermal block for numbing and after that I didn't feel anything! We also added in some filler in my chin for facial balancing. We did not end up using all of the filler so we saved it and I scheduled a two week follow up appointment. At that next appointment we did add a tiny bit of filler but I didn't need much. The filler has made such a natural but noticeable improvement to my face shape. I did not have much of an upper lip before and the filler looks soo natural! I could not be more grateful! They are transparent about pricing and they do have monthly specials. I found Chs Med Spa when I was looking for a place close to Johns Island who does BBL laser. I met with Melissa & she was so warm and kind. She was thorough and made sure I was comfortable throughout my entire treatment. If you want an amazing facial this is NOT the place. Esthetician wore too big rubber gloves, left the room twice and didn't let me know anything about what she was doing (after saying in the intro that she'd describe everything). Also she said I had rosacea- so I went to a dermatologist immediately and the dermo said she was wrong. No rosacea. read more

Charleston Medical Spa has great monthly deals! I have been very pleased with both the Botox for my crows feet and the Halo for fine lines and sun damage. My skin hurt for a few days after the Halo treatment, but I plan on keeping at it once per year during the winter months. My skin was actually glowing. Caution: Sanitation Issues Cause Folliculitis after Microneedling with PRP from Morgan. I've been going here for a while and I'm by far one of their best clients (spent about 30K at this spa). I was recommended for this procedure and was told it had "little to no downtime." I get filler, lasers, etc. ALL the time, and this was by far the most painful thing I've ever done at a med spa setting. I was cringing the blanket, deep breathing and not once did she ask if I was ok or warn me of this. I woke up the next day and that's when the nightmare begun. I woke up covered in white bumps ALL over my face and I was told "this is normal and this happens in 10-20% of cases" and that my skin was "purging" - I was polite and kept them updated. By end of the day it was even worse and Morgan assured me I looked "healthy and normal" and apologized that I was mislead about recovery time. It wasn't until I escalated it that they had me come in and talk to their "dermatologist" who told me I had a SKIN INFECTION and put me on Doxycycline. They claimed they had never seen this before, yet Morgan and the owner, Lisa said "this happens sometimes." Bottom line, they refused to accept responsibility even after seeing me that every single puncture hole was infected. Purging is spots, it's my entire face. After politely telling Lisa that I wouldn't be able to continue being a client because I can't trust her med spa and asking her to take responsibility (and showing her proof from other professionals) she said "Brenna, you are very important to us and I"m very sorry you're unhappy." We really care about our clients and enjoy helping them reach their goals and make new friends." WHATTTT. My skin has an infection due to contamination and you are talking about new friends? Bottom line, no one is perfect and no business is either, it's how you handle when things go poorly. She did not offer a refund (I had to ask and she still has not issued it) and refuses to take responsibility for a debilitating result that should have never happened. read more

I used to love this place, was seeing the same tech for Botox/Jeuveau injections for 3 years. She recently left so I've seen Dr. King and one other tech since then, both have been a poor experience. I'm currently trying to get my botched Botox fixed. I've recommended several people to the tech who has left but now I'd say stay away from this place, there are a lot of better ones around Charleston. read more

I have recently been visiting Charleston Medical Spa on James Island for laser hair removal. It is pain-free, and the staff is always friendly and welcoming! I am excited to try out some of their other services (BBL, Halo, etc.) The hair removal is going great-- I have heard horror stories of people getting it done years ago, and friends have told me how painful it can be. At Charleston Medical Spa, there is NO pain! I have also enjoyed a hydrafacial here, which was wonderful. The staff is very informed and always explains everything to me in detail and makes me feel completely comfortable. The technicians really care about their patients. I am so disappointed with my first visit to Charleston Medical Spa after moving to Johns Island. I had a treatment done by Abby, who was FANTASTIC in EVERY way. Unfortunately, I was quoted a discount for a group of sessions for the best outcome. When I came for my first session, they also had a monthly discount to include another area for free. I was so happy, as I wanted to add this area, but it did not fit in the budget, this made it doable! The flyer had NO indication that the monthly special could not be combined with any other discount, yet they would not honor both. I worked with the owner via e-mail to resolve, even sent her a copy of the law stating this practice was not legal, yet she did not agree to do the right thing. Their competitor is honoring the pricing they should have. It's father for me, but I want to do business with honorable businesses that do the right thing. Buyer Beware! read more

This was my first time going in for fillers and I was super nervous. The staff made sure to keep me updated on everything that I need to do to prepare for my consultation, and if I was comfortable to proceed. I came here for some Botox before my son's wedding. The place itself is beautiful inside and the front desk staff very friendly and courteous. I've had some pretty bad Botox results in the past and explained in detail what had happened and what the results were with Sarah before being injected. We discussed how to avoid ending up with the problems I have had previously from injections. WELL, what do you know--I ended up looking like a freak. I do not have ridiculous expectations from Botox--I've had it enough to know what to expect good-results wise. I went to have two wrinkles on my forehead and the one line between my eyes smoothed out. I ended up with one eyelid stretched so far toward the side of my head, I look ridiculous and it is causing pressure on that eye. The inner part of my eyebrows was pushed downward and inward so now I not only have the original wrinkle between my eyes, I have two new ones that make me look angry ALL THE TIME. The ends of my eyebrows are pulled up so high, I was tempted to shave them off altogether and draw on new ones. I am beyond devastated that I will look like this for my son's wedding and pictures next week. I have had good Botox before for several years in Greenville, SC. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find the same here in Charleston. Certainly NOT at this spa. read more

Having worked for the top aesthetic company in the world, I can say Alicia's wealth of knowledge and expertise is second to none. She's super professional, up to date on all the cutting edge tech and procedures, honest with her patients and has a bedside manner that would charm even the crabbiest of patients-A true gem in this city and I would know-I've sampled most of the offices. Was late for appointment due to traffic and weather (pouring) coming from Mt pleasant. Was told because I was 10 minutes late I would have to reschedule. When I arrived at the office there was a sign on the door that said they would be back at 9:00. Was told that they leave for lunch at 12:15. I cannot sing higher praises about this place and the staff. First of all the place is gorgeous inside, clean and exactly what I expect from a well run medical spa/office. My entire experience from making the appointment to walking out the door was awesome. Morgan (I think?!) scheduled the appointment for me over the phone and she was not only accommodating, but very thoughtful when scheduling the appointment. Alicia was my esthetician and I was blown away by her depth of knowledge and the care she took when I met with her for the consultation and through the procedure. I did the BBL which I had never had done before and she walked me through each step, everything she was using and communicated to me each time before she used the laser. On top of that she made sure I had her card and wrote down her personal phone number just in case I had any questions later. As I was checking out, another esthetician was checking out her patient and told the woman that she would call to check on her. Amazing! The level of professionalism, care and the quality products and services sold here provide me the confidence and peace of mind that one should have when visiting a medical spa...or any place really.
